The word for "tossed" there is from basanizo. It is not speaking of the boat as being conscious of being tortured; it was simply being tossed by the waves, and conscious of nothing.
No matter what YOU think the word Basanizo means, it HAS to apply to a boat TOO!!

I don't know how much I believe this story...I believe that the only way you can go to hell is if you never accept Christ or if you renounce him completely from your life. As long as you repent and have accepted him, you are saved. That's what I believe. Also, why would Jesus want to go BACK to hell? And isn't it convenient that every soul they speak to, Jesus had manifested himself to when they were on earth...hmm, fishy. This is a chilling story though.

There are literally thousands of near death experiences I have read on line. People who are clinically dead, claim to have gone to hell, and come back to life so they can accept Christ. Ignore the evidence at your own peril.
From what I've read in the Bible it is when Gods judgments are in the earth that cause people to repent (Isaiah 26:9). However in the last 7 plagues of His wrath this will not be the case (Rev. 16:11) even though the gospel will be preached for the last time to the entire globe by an angel (Rev. 14:6-7).

Absolutely chilling description of hell. There's nothing that seems more frightening than this that I've ever seen or heard about. I wish it was'nt true but I know it's completely true.
I don't know anyone who'll admit to reading this book. Many say they've heard of it, but none will admit to reading it. I've read it, but can't bring myself to believe this is a honest recollection of a real event.
Nice to hear it but it is difficult to believe people have been to hell. Some people take advantage by selling books....but fortunately this kind of story makes people repenting from their sins.

What a strange idea you have of love and free choice. Any loving being would simply not allow hell to exist. As it is, if God is indeed omniscient, he must create beings who he knows will spend eternity in hell. His omniscience makes free choice an impossibility.

That scripture is refering to the more severe punishment that Christians who turn back and fall will receive at the Judgement. When one turns back they are as individuals, spiritually recrucifying Jesus, rejecting His sacrifice on the cross, and on the edge of hardening themselves to the point of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

The Penalty here is ETERNAL DESTRUCTION!

Whatever it is that causes the destruction or ruin is ETERNAL. It is NOT Annihilation!

The word for "tossed" there is from basanizo. It is not speaking of the boat as being conscious of being tortured; it was simply being tossed by the waves, and conscious of nothing.
No matter what YOU think the word Basanizo means, it HAS to apply to a boat TOO!!

I don't know how much I believe this story...I believe that the only way you can go to hell is if you never accept Christ or if you renounce him completely from your life. As long as you repent and have accepted him, you are saved. That's what I believe. Also, why would Jesus want to go BACK to hell? And isn't it convenient that every soul they speak to, Jesus had manifested himself to when they were on earth...hmm, fishy. This is a chilling story though.

From what I've read in the Bible it is when Gods judgments are in the earth that cause people to repent (Isaiah 26:9). However in the last 7 plagues of His wrath this will not be the case (Rev. 16:11) even though the gospel will be preached for the last time to the entire globe by an angel (Rev. 14:6-7).

What a strange idea you have of love and free choice. Any loving being would simply not allow hell to exist. As it is, if God is indeed omniscient, he must create beings who he knows will spend eternity in hell. His omniscience makes free choice an impossibility.

Gehenna is a garbage dump outside of Jerusalem- Hades is a place in Greek mythology. If we could stop focusing on "hell" and begin focusing on God, we could begin to understand His awesome love toward His creation. The world is under condemnation, but His purpose is to reconcile to world, not to put the world into a worse condition. Now THAT is GOOD NEWS! That scripture is refering to the more severe punishment that Christians who turn back and fall will receive at the Judgement. When one turns back they are as individuals, spiritually recrucifying Jesus, rejecting His sacrifice on the cross, and on the edge of hardening themselves to the point of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

dear vilgessuola, i can understand your argument. I was like you , but when i think about eternity in hell and reflect on it, i realize that here i am playing with my future. we should be humble in our reflection and stick to the fact that there is only one way of salvation, and that is Jesus Christ.
