He is talented...But his guitars are not so great. I have his "Duende" classical guitar and replaced the original strings with Sevilla Med. Tension strings and still sounded horrible. Other than that he is a good guitarist
what can you expect form a mass produced guitar???? they are actually very good quality............i own one......i bought one just to see if it was shit, and it was actually very good.....i was shocked.......plus it came with lots of extras.........i love esteban's music.......he is a platinum artist..........great musician. you all who bash him are just jealous.

I have 4 of his guitars as well as a Washburn and I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt his guitars are as good if not better than the Washburn. Especially the classical guitar I have of his. His lessons are easy and designed to get you playing the guitar without too much muss and fuss. They are not designed to make you play like him.

Lie #1 Guitar shops have a huge mark up- It would be nice but many guitar shops are lucky to make a few bucks on a guitar especially with the huge Wal-mart music stores and internet sites driving mom and pop stores out of business.
Lie #2 His guitars are built just like the guitars he compares them to on his shows- they are not built out of the same materials, the same designs, the same scale length, the same electronics, and defiantly to the same level of craftsmanship. Lie #3 My guitar is a wood guitar, with real inlay, and a high gloss finish-
Some of his new models do feature wood back and sides, even though it is not a typical guitar building wood, but most all of his guitars are cheap plywood. The inlay is normally a sticker, and a cheesy one at that, and yes it does have a high gloss plastic finish that has been poorly prepared, and is lumpy and poorly buffed.
Lie #4 He is a great and famous guitar player- I personally am not a dictionary of musicians but no one I have ever talked to has ever heard of Estaban, other than his commercials. Lie #5 His guitars are a limited edition- Come on, Limited to like 200,000 and then he labels them stuff like 15,039/200,000 as if it really matters.
Long story short, He cons innocent people who do not know any better. End of story.

I am a 34 year veteran pro musician and I can tell you I learned quite a lot just from watching Esteban play. I play mostly rock and blues and have always been interested in spanish guitars styles.
Along comes someone like Esteban who has helped many get started and carry on with guitar, hats offf. Music is a wonderful gift, passing it on is an amazing joy.
ummm......esteban can play as well....if not worse than my brother. this is a good instructional video, if you've never seen a good instructional video ever before. His guitars are great, if you've never played another guitar that is made of something other than plywood or particle board. spend your hard earned money on a decent guitar and a decent guitar instructor. My father would nail estebans playing into a deep grave.
