In THIS case ..because of the venue and it's size..lip syncing is the BEST choice becasue going live would set you up for A LOT of problems. That's just my opinion. Even with all of Paula's weirdness that's going on...this was still a cool song and video. She did well.

paula is 100 % superstar. she will always be a star no matter what she does. when she did choreography, she was a superstar in that field. when she moved on to singing herself, she quckly became a pop superstar. when she became a TV judge, her show went straight to nr 1 and still is nr 1 after 7 years. some people just have IT and will be on top of their game no matter what they do.
its also amazing that she can even move around and dance like that because she has a very painfull desies called RSD. my grandmother has the same desies and she said that it is SUPER painfull to even jog!! thats why she sometimes acts strange on interviews because she is on such heavy pain medication.

she had to. she lost her voice in rehearsals. it was either lip synch or not perform at all. and she wanted to get back on stage.

Ok, I don't get why people are so concerned about performers who lip sync...
Would you rather have her just sitting there singing it, or see a GREAT DANCE ROUTINE, and have her sound like shit? She's not 20 anymore people!
I don't get why people get so bent out of shape about people who lip sync, it's not like they didn't sing the song in the studio!!! They did!!!!
Let's see all of YOU get up there and have the stamina to dance, and sing, and have to remember those moves, all at once!!!!!!!

its also amazing that she can even move around and dance like that because she has a very painfull desies called RSD. my grandmother has the same desies and she said that it is SUPER painfull to even jog!! thats why she sometimes acts strange on interviews because she is on such heavy pain medication.

lip synch much? yes plenty of other performers have prerecorded their vocals for stage performances...but this sounds SORELY "studio" esque. and what of her dance moves? a highschool pom dance team could've done this in a gym during a pep rally. its really not her best. the song sounds like something from the vibeology album. i was hoping for better from her.

When I first saw this I thought that I would let it pass for entertainment. Now I watch it again and think of how music is going. Paula, Brittney and not to mention the producers who put someoneon stage and sell this crap. Yes, crap! Watch the real singers who preform on stage...their voices are human. They have slight variation in the tone and breathing. This is a lip-sync that is produced...if you buy it, they will sell it.

I thought that she had an injury that prevented her from performing live. Considering how long it's been she's doin ok, and the song reminds me of the good stuff she used to make. It'd be nice if she did a Vibeology remix.

eehhh then i guess you hate almost every Performer out there. michael janet jackson, britney spears, madonna, etc. they never sing live when they dance to their song. at least Paula has proven in the past she actually can dance and sing live at the same time. and i am sure her goal is to be able to do that again, like maybe around idol gives back she will be ready to do that again.

Actually, you might want to check out live performances of both Janet and Michael Jackson before making that statement.
Janet Jackson doesn't lip sync. She kinda sounds like shit because of the constant dancing and singing - But at least it is live. I would rather the singing voice sound slightly crappy then to know it's not live.
And well, Britney Spears is the queen of lip syncing.

so did the really popular paula at superbowl 2008 videos get delated or something?? there were a couple that had over 500 000 views, but they seem to be gone now (?).

Paula is the QUEEN of dance you guys are right she started all dancing. Britney Spears is nothing compared to you. Paula was one of the most popular Artists of the eighties oh and goin back to the dancin. she can do flawless dances including tap in six inch heels she is amazing.

yeah Paula is the girl who started the style that everyone today uses in their music videos! except, Paula did it BETTER than everyone else. she actually can STILL dance incredibly well but she was holding back here a little because 1. first performance in 12 years (needs more time to practice) and 2. song is actually pretty slow. would have looked weird if she was doing wild dance moves to this song, despite the song's title.

It is cause she was a choreographer first and is still a choreographer to this day. You might want to also include in your arguments over Paula Abdul - that she taught Janet Jackson to dance and choreographs most of her videos.
