  • What a messed up video, but I love it.

    "He looks like Dave Couiler"

  • yup, these guys are soooo cool

  • Tears for Fears is the most under rated band in the history of music. Absolutely true no argument...

  • dude the lead singer looks like a mixture of Jerry Seinfield, Bob Geldof, and Rick Astely. Ha Ha

  • Hahahaha

Mostly Jerry Seinfeld, but yes, you are correct!

  • i love 80's music its better then the new stuff now days

  • I love how emotional Roland and Curt sing, its so nice to see songs like this come from the persons soul. Just love 80's music.

  • I swear their keyboardist is Uncle Joey :)

  • Oh my god he is!!!!!!

  • This is hands down one of the best groups of the 80s and 90s. They're just timeless.

  • takes me back to my childhood days

  • yaaahhhh i luve this song cause its in donnie darko and that is a really good movie right there

  • This band is amazing. Different and completely talented. If anyone talks shit about them try finding your root notes and runs on this song. Try to play it . The bass line is Jane's addiction/Led Zeppelin esque, the keyboard vocal melody a la queen and the pattern brilliant . Don't fuck

    with tears for fears.

  • 80's music had the charm of synthesizers, harps, keyboard chords and pedaled up vocals. Really its actually found in todays retro music, but Head over Heels is one of those songs which mixes the heavy vocals into the beauty of smooth simple down to earth swinging fun music. Tears for Fears. :-)

  • This is still one of my all time favorite videos, I was in HS when this song came out and still remember getting the cassette tape of their album.

  • 80's music was great! I agree, many memories from this era of music. I still love it today!

  • 80's music was fantastic and so many songs evoke strong memories

  • Hee Hee! You're so nice! :D

  • love the intro!!!

  • This song remindme the time I was inlove of a beautiful girl

  • :)ajajajaj

  • this guy has a huge mouth

  • Donnie Darko :D

  • where did the keyboard come from?

  • AUTISTIC LOVE SONG

  • I really miss songs like this. Songs these days just DO NOT have the same quality as 80's early 90's songs. With the exception of a few bands though...

  • cara essa musica e tudo pra mim!! jamais esquecerei tudo que passei na quela noite inesquecivel ao lado do amor da minha vida !!tendo apenas essa cançao como testemunha!!

  • when ever I hear this song i think of Donnie Darko

  • @Frylok1177

    Double true.

  • at 1:48 wtf happened to the keyboard guy on the counter? probly just too much epicness to fit on screen

  • Ha ha! Absolutely! TOO MUCH EPICNESS!!!!!!!!

  • "I wanted to be with ou alone and talk about the weather"

    Such a great opening line!

  • DAMMIT! I miss 1985, that was my favorite year.

  • great song, like a natural high.

  • @evrgrnn5280 i completely agree <3

this song always makes my day when i hear it.

  • yeah this song was actually written to mean something , which is a lost art these days , some artists now do it but its not as common as it once was we miss you 80's ! , if i only had a time machine id live the 80's and 90's over and over.

  • I love this song!!! This is my all time favorite 80's jam!! So many memories. The 80's ROCK!! Nothing like this era. The best music EVER!!!

  • aha i'm not the only one

  • LMAO!!!!

  • roland was so cute (:

  • @00Victoria00 oh yes!!! xx :)

  • With the crap today; i've started collecting music from the '80's once more.

  • That's what you've gotta do, the gov't is going to team up with Nashville and try to steal it from us. haha

  • Hard to believe Roland was only 24 when Songs from the Big Chair was released.

One of the best albums ever.

  • ahh, Donnie Darko brought this song back into my life, and i just love it so much.

  • What ever happened to music like this? Man... miss the 80's, good times... and songs like this remind me of that.

  • probably because this song is from the 80s...

  • Another one of those songs

    that evokes memories of

the best decade of my life.

  • i love that part from 1:37

  • what is that monkey doing there??? poor thing.

  • i wanna fall in love with a girl who works in a bookstore..

  • I think it's called a "library."

  • you people need lives. great song. nuff said.

  • weird?

guess u had to b there

  • weird...

  • keyboard player is god

  • She squeezed his nose and permanently changed his voice so he sounded like donald duck when he sang. That is why the band no longer exists.

    O.K. ........I made that up.......or, did I?

    Hmmmmmmm........

  • lol that was very random

  • tears for fears are beyond the category of "artists" they are Tears for Fears and they can say whatever they please, lol... though, I agree he says "do" or "could" but not "dude"

  • LOL AT 1:34 .. that is hilarious.. gotta love the 80s

  • beautiful- tears for fears forever!!!!!!!!!

  • donnie darko <3

  • An Iconic masterpiece!! just that this song is!....

  • jerry sienfeild should of stuck to singing

  • i was gonna say something about him lookin like seinfeld but i thought i would check to see if someone has already and voila here it is! lol

  • he might be saying "do I need you this much"

  • sounds like he fucked up but looking at his facial expression looks like Mercury records decided to keep it becuase it might of been his best out take.

but Definetly he says DUDE I NEED YOU THIS MUCH

  • Nope, search up the lyrics, buy the "songs of the big chair" album it has the real lyrics in the booklet it's "Do I need you this much."

  • Correct

  • yeah, i heard it too.

  • considering that the artists don't typically sing in music videos, but rather lip synch to a track being played while filming, it's highly unlikely that he said "dude".

he may have lip synched "dude", but on the originally recorded track he says "do i need you this much". therefore, in the video, he "says" *do*.

  • The guy sort of reminds me of Gary Numan

  • no he doesnt say that he says could i need u this much?

  • He doesnt say dude i need u this much he say could i need u this much?

  • sounds like it though right after apparition it sounds like dude lol

  • ooohhhh now i see. kk thx

  • 1:05 about that time he says "dude i need you this much"?

  • when he's looking at the librarian in the first verse, it sounds like he says "dude, i need you this much". lol does that mean she's really a guy?

  • Great song

    Like lexa490 sais too

I know about this song cause it appears on DOnnie Darko

but its just great Five stars

  • 1:03 - love her pissed off expression

  • the librarian is HOT

  • Cara vou falar um negocio pra vc esse som e muito foda esses caras escrevem as musicas de uma formaa sem igual PARABÉNS

  • i agree with you moomoo... after that, they just are in their own little world of music....

but this is about TFF!!!! GREAT BAND!!!

  • smooth foreheads-and no botox!

  • i don't like the ad at the front. i'm vegan.

  • follow me? @alebernardes

  • so how many people only know this song cause of Donnie Dark *raises hand*

  • ...*also raises hand*

  • nope, vice versa - I know about Donnie Darko 'cause of this song XD lol.

  • Th-this is my four leaf clover?! O.o

  • what a song!

  • 1:44 !

  • hey you moomoo1337 how about u shut up its a song i bet alot of people love this song and think its great and it is so SHUT UP!...jackass

  • @alice7843 ...But moomoo1337 wasn't attacking the song, just his reasons why the librarian was miffed with him!...also his analogy is wrongg anyway because his how to pick up chicks 101 works, 'cos they're old n married at the end!!...funny how...time...FLIES!!

  • I have always liked tears for fears. I don't really know how anyone could NOT like Radiohead though. Maybe you should keep you opinions to yourself hucster20

  • @Radioheadinmy head... that's the point, radiohead doesn't propose anything that represents anything other the random ideas from Yorke&Co's heads... music represents who YOU are, and radiohead doesn't represent what i like, and yea, i dislike them i believe they are overrated and overindulging in their own existence

  • Not to defend Radiohead but their first two albums Pablo Honey and The Bends were fantastic, it all went downhill after that.

  • come on, what about OK computer, their best ever album. btw, this song is so good, oh I remember, it was made in 80's

  • OK computer was self-indulgent nonsense, fitter happier.

  • mmmhmm !1

  • laaaa la la la laa la ! !

  • No wonder she doesn't like him, he dumps craploads of books on her desk, sings in her face, gets his stalker looking friend to play keyboard at her and then wrecks the place.

Not exactly how to pick up chicks 101

  • @moomoo1337 she does like him in the end, & his how to pick up chicks 101 obviously works, 'cos they're old n married at the end!!...

  • Nah, he is just dreaming it up from his prison cell as he was locked up for wrecking the library

  • @moomoo1337 You know...I never thought of that interpretation...!

  • i dont know about all of you, but i get the sensation that Tears for Fears was the if not one of the first bands to present beautiful music based on self-discover and personal growth... Sort of along the lines of The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, and nowadays the notorious Radiohead (i hate that band)

Long Live Tears for Fears and Roland Orzabal!!!

  • Well, they can't be the first, since you've pointed out at least two bands that came before them.

  • Why is this so wonderful??

  • LoveSong I =)

  • are you serious about that being jerry seinfield?

  • nice I like this

  • hey one of the best keyboard solos of the 80's!!

  • Jeff Bridges on keyboard

  • no, Joey from full house on the keyboard! lol!

  • im so glad donnie darko used this song.

    this song is awesome!

  • I think its cool that Jerry Seinfeld used to be a singer

  • this whole video is hilarious!

  • this song brings back good memories.

    this is sooooo 1980's.

  • your mother has and you have good choice in music

  • Adooorro eles...

  • I'm only 14, but when I was a baby my mother always listened to Tears For Fears and other 80's bands. How can I say.. This kind of music has always been in my blood ^^

  • Amo esse clip demais!!!!

  • time does fly excelllent band the synh sounds i love

  • i dont get whys there a monkey whats that got to do with the song

  • MONKEY! XD

  • wnat great music back? stop watching sh** like x factor, which sting [from the police] described as karaoke!! see the real bands struggling in bar, pubs and other venues! the best 80's bands busted their ass man!!!

  • song makes me want to cry - all the memories of the past and the girl i went head over heels over... i love TFF

  • nice video

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you

  • 80's sound is nice compare the new musics

  • He looks like an old gorilla in this video lol.

  • I just bought this record for 40 cents.

  • the outro of this song echoes throughout the ages as a quintessential audio signature of the 80's

  • Keyboardest looks like Uncle Joey!

  • EPIC KEYBOARD SKILLZ!

  • whats the librarians real name?? Shes pretty

  • Shes dead now

  • what a classic especially with a glass off bushmills to enjoy agreat drink with a great song

  • best of all me auld son but the jamesons well im drinkin some now pretty good . what do you think while listening to mad word i need to know

  • Rich alvarez spoof is great, but this is sureli an art piece

  • You keep your distance we a system of touch.

  • i can listen to this song over and over again.

  • me 2

  • Donnie Fucking Darko

  • The girl at the beginning of the movie reminds me strangely of Mila Jovovich (Leelo from 5th Element) anyone agrees? or is it my imagination.

  • we have a music bar here in my country named 20 YEARS AFTER! they play all d way 80's songs! after a hard days work i feel brand NEW wave again.....

  • just get over yourselves and enjoy the music.

  • DONT THROW IT AWAY NIGGA!

  • New music is sooooo bad, 80s music was so ahead of its time

  • you're kidding, right?

  • No you are just a dickless loser........ now go fuck yourself

  • i love this song with all my heart and the video makes me love it even more !! that leaddd singer ... oh man what a cutie <3

  • Keyboardist is awesome! I mean one FUCKING HAND! XD

  • I call it how I see it. When I first saw this thread I saw people bashing the youth for liking songs from the 80's. Claiming they were a product of the 80's when actually they were too damn young for the 80's (I'm mid 30's). So its ok for them to like it but not the younger generation? thats hypocritical. nuff said!

  • I'm 28 and remember tons of 80's songs very well so I pretty much grew up with this music. You dont have to have been born in the 70's to remember this stuff, as long as its before '85 I think. I was born in '81.

  • Yeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaah '81 in the house. Yeah, I remember this ish too.

  • AWESOME!!! I started remembering moments around when I was 3 thats probably why I remember so well.

  • ditto

  • I don't understand people who diss people from the '90's /2000's who decry the fact that their generation's music is shit & they wished they were around in the '80's also. Us '80's people should be proud that those who followed in subsequent decades also realise what a magical decade it was [which many of us saw more clearly after it was gone!!...including me!!]. Increase the tribe man...!

  • @cramps27 cut it out

  • Loved this album "Songs from the Big Chair"

  • Me too. Great song!

  • Donnie Darko music!!! lol

  • THIS IS A GOOD SONG

  • ummm okay.....he obviously meant1985, he made a mistake about the 1985, who gives a flying fuck?????

  • who knew uncle joey was a badass keyboardist!!

  • Donnie Darko FTW

  • exactly i was born in 89 but i always wished i was a teen in 1885 , it was obv the best year ever !!!!!

  • Donnie Darko

  • i fell in love to this song......still feels like yesterday

  • who cares what age you are?? if you like tears for fears you like tears for fears. now shut up and enjoy the song

  • You can claim to like it but don't claim it as your era if it isn't....so stop bashing kids who like it cause they are in the same boat you are. Its not your era, its not there era. Stop shiting on these kids for liking a few songs. That would make you a hypocrite.

  • It makes me upset when people put down others for music they like, just because they weren't around when the song was released, or when the band was active.

I understand where you are coming from, though, saying that a lot of my generation will promote the bands to look "cool", but that's a generalization. There are many of us who appreciate it.

ANYWAYS, this song has been stuck in my head ALL day!

  • LOKO D+
