If you slap the ball and one foot is out of the batters box are you not automaticly out? I played a lot of men's fastall and thiswas the case then

@polearch1 Correct. Majority of slappers will start from the back of the batters box to work their way forward toward the pitcher then explode out of the batter's box to first base. Slapping is also done from the right as a timing mechanism for the batter in order to show the bunt, pull back, then perform a sharp swing to make sudden contact to move the ball past the infielders, more known as a hit and run.

@alextacy21 slapping isnt just to adcance the runner. a lot of the times people slap when no one else is on base. usually girls that slap have a lot of speed so hitting from the left side just gets them that much closer to first base and it decreases that chances of them getting thrown out. also slappers can earn extra bases because the fielders are in such a hurry to throw them out and they will end up over throwing to first. so yeah im sure you probablly dont really care but oh well haha

well. you CAN slap right handed, but its pointless and just throws you off when you try to hit regularly. The slap bunt from the right side, however, is very affective and it can help you get your timing on a pitcher who is faster then what you have seen, or if the ball moves a lot more then you have seen.

if your right handed, you can still slap left handed...look at natasha watley and caitlin lowe. they're beasts at slapping from the left box and are both right handed.
