I can see the thinking behind the configuration of the power bands, but I'm trying to work out if you'll actually get the full benefit of all three bands? Even though the top band is pulling against the bottom two I don't believe you'll achieve the full power of all three bands. Maybe you could clarify that for me?

thats very true, and also a big problem, but lots of people will kill innocent fish that practically nibble on the end of their spear, and kill babys or rare species, at a holiday spot, a spear fisher was fishing in a non fish zone, and killed a big blue gropper...

The main benefit is the spear is being propelled down the entire length of the gun, in theory it should have more range than an ordinary gun of that length.

Where as an ordinary gun is only pulling the spear forward for just over half the barrel.
