I tried WHS but didn't like it. It feels like it was rushed and its too limited. I switched to EZBlue Home Server. It allows you to do much more. It also works with Linux.

To expand on my last comment. Point is. Njven is correct, as well MarFue93, but linux is more for IT gurus who have a lot of resources, where as WHS is for lower budget-easy to use and setup environments. Linux should be replaced with unix in more professional environments, and Windows server also works. Point is, windows may be less secure, but only because more people use it.

Not as far as noobish "viruses", please stop complaining, here is how it goes. They did a demo at I think DefCon where they, over the course of a few days, tested Mac, Windows, and Linux platforms for susceptibility to different attacks including things like PDOS. Here is what happened:

Macs: Not too many viruses, yet in the end easiest to "hack" via different methods.

Windows PCs: Most viruses of all, second easiest to "hack".

Linux: Fewer viruses yet, and no one succeeded in such attacks.

There's quite a good argument for Windows having more viruses. Windows is more user-friendly. That being said, it is designed for inexperienced. If your inexperienced, you really are susceptible to a virus. Whereas Linux you need at least a basic knowledge of bash and how it works a little knowledge of how computers and hardware work. WHS is designed for inexperienced users to setup a server, it wasn't made for those with advanced skills. Microsoft products work better with other MS products.

P.S. I would also like to mention that there are only 5 viruses in total for Linux, and these viruses can only work in a corporate environment configured a specific way. Whereas there are 200 new viruses released each week for Windows.

Okay we know this, and why are you trying to tell people to do this, i think you want people to switch over to "linux" which in my opinion is the worst OS, But people can choose their OS if they want linux, windows, or macs then they can so shutup and stop going off of inference

Norton is the slowest antivirus of them all. Try removing it - leaving your computer disconnected from the internet - and see the difference.

It's not Vista's fault, it runs great on my PC which has less RAM and a dual core than your PC.

If you don't like Windows, then don't use it. Also, there's no definite answer to the question whether Windows or Linux is better.

Dude.. calm down ok? Its just an os, anyways, if vista sucks so much go back to xp, also, its prob not set up correctly, i hate vista, and know that its not much of a "Out of box" thing.. And anyways, it should run like a god on that thing, so there is no excuse saying its just vista, i have used vista on a pc with 1gb of ram, 3.2ghz celeron processor and 6600gt graphics card, and it runs much better than what your making out.. my advice is look around for any probs, and stop using Norton.

I like Ubuntu, Windows, and Mac. Ubuntu is fast, mac is good for editing, and most software is compatible with windows.

Linux is not stable on ANY windows version, not even XP! Its a beta of home server. It is based on Windows Server 2003.

No one has said that Windows server is better than Linux server. Youre right that Windows is simpler for the end user and that it is more insecure. But Linux servers are good for banks etc., but for home use you really have to be interested to do a linux server. I know becouse I have made one with linux. And btw. if you havent properly set the security of a Linux server (boot leve password) you can acces it as root with two commands.
