WTF!! Is that a Makuni carb on a 45??.... Sounds nothing like an old side draft brass carb at idle, can go way lower. And yes parts are still available... not a plug for them but to help you out.....HD 45 Restoration Co in upstate New york... or perhaps Indian Joe Martins....otherwise nice 45....

hi, my generator on my 45" was only puting out enogh to run the lights but not charge the battery. thats allways the the story, so i left it the way it was and run a magneto out of a old sportster, so the bike runs with a dead battery and the lights still work! dan
