Will it plow heavy wet snow well or is it more for the powdery stuff? Nice setup and nice tractor!!

It can plow wet snow but after it piles up in front of the blade it builds up so fast that you need to go really fast and angle the blade.

Got it on Ebay for about $750 if I remember right. This engine is no longer on it, I pulled this engine and installed an older 12HP Kohler and it works just as well with better milage.

no I don't really collect them but they seem to pop up in the pole barn some how and I can't figure out how they get there ;)

Yea man these tractors have what we call true horsepower as if an old 12 hp kohler hooks up to a newer 18 hp briggs the kohler most likely wins todays engines like this are over rated horsepower

This is NOT a Ingersoll Rand tractor. It is a Case/Ingersoll. Case sold there garden tractor line to Ingersoll in the 80's and they were made in WI. Now I think they are made in Maryland or Maine not sure.

This model was made during the buy out. Notice the Case name on the dash and front of hood and Ingersoll name on the side of the hood.

They are very well made tractors. How many Murrey lawn mowers do you know about that run like new at 30 years old?

Case/Ingersoll is correct yes. This 226 broken down since this video so I might take the blade off and put it on and OLD Gravely that is more dependable. The Onan is great until it gives you trouble the it is a pain and a pain in the wallet as well.

Sorry to here about the break-down. Yes they are expensive. I can rebuild a 350 chevy for less money than an Onan 2 cylinder. It's crazy!

Check out my 448 snowblowing. I just added it. Unfortunatly where the snow was real deep and I was going through it the recorder did'nt get on the footage. Maybe another time.

Fun when it runs...lol Nice to have a plow when you have 150 feet of sidewalk on 2 sides of your home we are on the corner see. If I don't clean the sidewalks the city will come and fine me then do it themselves.

Why would the city fine you? I think that's dumb. Although I wouldn't mind because I would have fun plowing it anyway. I have a Case 224 similar to yours except mines about 10 years older than yours. I've got the 4' snowblower.

If you do not clean the walk in front of your home they come and do it then send a bill...I used wrong wording but still it cost you if you do not clean your walk. I am selling this case 226 now as parts since engine is dead.

I do still have the bad Kohler engine for my 224, but mine used the starter generator, which used a belt instead of the gear. When you meant the 226 engine is dead, did u mean the engine you took off of the Gravely?

Free..My neighbor found an old wheel horse blade and so I did some welding and made it fit.

When its cold and lots of snow I just head as far as I can go and neighbors come out and drop 2,3 or $5 for gas for me and that's fine.

Onan Engine I guess if it goes bad it is costly to repair. I am running 100 sythentic oil in it now. The plug wire went bad other day and I had 9 inches of snow so I used a 14 gauge wire electrical and WOW she runs great now...LOL

You are a sped a Short Block means it is a bare bone block it has no parts on it except crank and pistons.

16 Horse short block Onan Engine. I run syn oil in it too which I think helps start it in the cold.
