These soldiers with their captain Raginis were real Spartans in September 1939. We can not forget them and others who fought abandoned by their allies. Glory to the brave Polish soldiers ... Never again war between Germany and Poland
@lrath4urse9d3q47 It's not a movie. It's from a documentary called SAS in Oman, It explores the SAS'S finest hour and how 9 members of the SAS stood against 300 confirmed enemies called ado.
@plyinglemon From what I can find here on Youtube, the show is called "SAS Heroes". Its currently in the Suggestion list on the right but if its not showing up for you, try searching for "SAS Heroes: Last Stand in Oman". That's the name of the episode you're looking for in regards to this video. :)
@kamil0074 The maker of the vid never claimed that the song was about the SAS. The song captures the spirit of the Polish defenders at Wizna that even while they were facing certain defeat, they fought on regardless of how outnumbered they were. With that in mind, this song is definately fitting for the actions of the SAS soldiers at Mirbat.
we now who the songs about it says in the song its being used in a tribute to the sas who fought in the battle of mirbat in oman just like alsorts of song get used in tributes take a chill pill
If you want the best fighting force in the world, mix the SAS, Navy Seals, US Marine Corps and the Royal Marines into a battalion. They would be un fucking stoppable.
@HatakeKakashi117 If you'd the BEST fighting force, you'd dump the navy seals and the marine corps, and replace those with spetsnaz and israeli commandos, only THEN you'd get the unstoppable force!
There,s alot of wrong in these comments, but i digress LABA and TOMMY TOBIN come to that, allnine members of B Sqaudron 22 SAS all more than deserved the V.C. The criterion for being awarded the V.C. is this, for valour and extreme courage, beyond that normally expected of a british soldier in the face of the enemy, which i think more than covers what these guys did.
There was another great holding of the line. The battle of Imjin River (22–25 April 1951) Though minor in scale, the battle's ferocity caught the imagination of the world, especially the fate of the 1st Battalion, The Gloucestershire Regiment which was outnumbered and surrounded by Chinese forces on Hill 235, a feature which became known as Gloster Hill. The British lost 141 men and the Chinese over 10000 men.
Yes, Labalaba a Fijian SAS soldier took on 300 enemies himself, 1 manning a 3-man operated weapon, destroying the communist rebels. He was shot in the neck crawling under heavy fire for a mortar. A statue has been made of him at the SAS headquarters.
