@rompn4x $2000 ? i spent $2000 so far and i am still lacking my stainlessworks longtube header ,lol,i will have them and a 4.6l 2v nx spray plate soon,,you cant run nitrouse on this plastic crap intake manifold without a spray plate or directport jets do to the nitrouse and gass build up in the bottom of it,,when you get these build ups in the manifold and you go to starte your car it WILL blow the bottom out of your manifold so dont ever just stick a cheap spray kit on a 2 valve stock manifold

@03SilverMustangGT that is stock. police cars havent really had much power since they used to run chryslers with 440's. remember the chevy caprices? 268 hp at the crank.... 350 or 5.7L LT1 . they are a little "heavy duty" so they can take the abuse longer than ur average car. that plus skilled drivers and a 12g makes for a decent pursuit vehicle.

the dodge charger is a unibody . sure its faster but its frail and friagile compiared to the full boxed full lenght frame that the vic has, also being a p71 the frame has been farther renforced.

the frame on that p71 vic is tougher then a Chevy silverado/f-150/dodge ram.

no other American automaker other then ford makes a full frame passenger car

all the competition has to offer is unibody garbage.

the vic is a tank, and americas finest cruiser

The p71 package (also called the taxi package)has VERY LITTLE to do with the frame. Only small reinforcements here and there, mostly to allow for push bars to be mounted to, and tow hooks ans stuff. They get bigger sway bars, stiffer springs, heavy alternator, PS and tranny coolers, no speed limiter, dual exhaust, limited slip, heavy brakes, upgraded torque convertor, larger radiator, 3.27 gears and some other minor things. I've smoked quite a few, in some slow, to me, cars.

@ssacproductions nope. the problem is outruning the police radio. the cops can have you on every BOLO (Be On the Look Out) list in the state within 30 seconds. not to mention during a chase any available unit in the area does everything he can to help. there is no way to outrun the police.

Raced my interceptor agaisnt one on SR912 in Indiana which if you look up the road on google earth or something you'll see if a long mostly str8 road with no stop lights and minimal traffic at night.

They don't run that fast in that, but from 60 p they take off very well. They are ok for the 0-60 but after that they take off a lot better than most vehicles and the suspension is beefed up enough t handle that speed.

I have talked with ILL. state troopers and they say crown vic hands down. They feel like they are traveling in a wad of aluminum foil in the impalas. That was before the Dodge Charger of course. They are the coolest cop cars out there now. Even better than the vic. Really hate to see those cars hit the market as "used cop cars" and see what all the black people who buy these things do in the hood. High performance car, low performance driver = Death

sure impala's may have more horsepower but its at the front wheels you try goin around a corner full out with a front wheel drive car you will go in a straight line due to major understeer at least in a vic you get oversteer which is controllable and safer ultimately awd would be wonderful

@popovhell it can not be 230hp at the crank with 187hp at the wheels,,,,this drive train has a 50hp lose to it,,so if you have 187whp that gives you 237hp at the cank,,,,so that right for a stock interceptor with zero mods on it,,..my panther is putting out 260hp at the crank with 210whp but mine has some good mods,,i hope to gain a good 80 to 90 rwhp when i get my stainlessworks longtube headers , tb spacer and a "NX" 4.6l 2 valve nitrouse kit with the plate system 75hp shot,,
