The new rules are far batter then the old rules. one point a kick! that's crap, one point per kick just means nobody will go for head kicks and everyone will become lazy! The new rules encourage high kicks and better techniques which leads to progression in the sport.

@56Marsy No it just means everyone goes for the knockout and they forgo technique to do it. 4 points for a spinning head shot and 3 for reg head shot. 1 point for block/punch, 2 points for spinning kick to body. It's the punching where the sport needs progression. What's up with the hands being below the belt on most of these fighters? Hands up dudes!

Looks more like a taek kyon game than a taekwon do match. This is very upsetting. I know the judge is using a scoring counter but I think those hogus they have have some type of electronic scoring. Maybe those weird shoes too. They are only using the lead leg and tapping each other gently. This is the exact opposite from which taekwon-do was famous for. When I was USTU certified ref in the 90's, a scoring kick or punch had to have "abrupt displacement of the body", ie: power!

Search for korea taekwondo highlights and you will see what real high level sparring is. This is pathetic in every sense. They looked like they are drugged or someone put Novocain in their legs.
