Though I agree that 'Girlfriend' is a song with a pretty limited, meaningless background, the majority of Avril's songs, and by that I do mean about 95% of her tracks, do tell a story and do have meaning and purpose.

1. The Pigeon Detectives aren't arrogant at all. After all, what have they got to be arrogant about?

2. Pigeon Detectives write all their own material, which may not be fantastic song writing, but it's still their own. And a thousand times better than 'Hey Hey, You You'. Avril may have written better songs, but i don't really care enough to listen to them.

3. Avril is no way a punk rockstar. She's a popstar, and thats it.
