@tagger956 Hate all you want brother ! Because this WILL be a tv show one day. I not only have a youtube account. I am a master and expert angler as recognized by the VA Department of Game & Inland fisheries and have registered over 100 freshwater trophy fish in 13 different species. I am also sponsored by 2 tackle companies and am on the pro staff. I am highly qualified to give info on many species of fish. Check out some recent stuff and you will see the production improvement. This is old.
@GodsGreatOutdoors I feel that you are right ! Only problem ... in the middle of trying to do smallmouth video ... one I haven't done yet ! Then going for channel cats. I will do another largemouth vid prob in September with a friend who has some awesome custom crankbaits ... Thanks for watching ! Oh ... and the next one will be in HD with MUCH better production, info and tips ! Tight lines !
Keep a little more tension on the line, not tight, but not totally loose, and you will see/feel strikes better. It helps to cut down on the gut hooking.
@AlexGReed21 ha ha ha ha ha ... I never gut hook fish or have issues with feeling strikes or the tension of my line ... but my partner in this video on the other hand ... :D
Hey guys great video, good to see yall pull a few big bass out there. Not just that, it's good to see a fishing video without the swearing and hootin and hollaring; that gets old. Very classy and enjoyed. Im up in Fairfax County VA and am dyin for the spring to come as well as yall. Keep it up
@theShimmySheide Sweet comment ! I actually grew up in Fairfax County ! Graduated Annandale HS in 89. I know some great holes up there, especially for smallmouth on the potomac. For me ... it's all about sharing and enjoying the sport with others. Send me a personal message or even hook up with me on facebook and I will share some spots if you like. Darian Brown ....
hahaha late night and early morning fishing b4 and after the job .... no harm no foul , a way of life some nice fish your slamming sinko works around the world huh..... haha big and small bass.... open water and bass in the grass nice videos cheek mine out if u geta chance
NICE ! ... liking the multi-species ! Catch all those in the U.K. ... or where are you ? And some system of a down to boot ... when we gonna fish ? :D
yeah ... i got a big kick out of that, too ! ... especially when I was starting to wonder how the hell I was gonna deal with that thing. Problem solved ... Thank you Mr. Turtle ! :D
Did you read the info ? A lot of SPECIFIC tips there for beginners on lures & presentation. Moon phases, crescent - bad, near full moon - good. Overcast days mainly better than sunny, but has lot do with the barometer. Fishing usually best when it is rising or unstable. Another great time to catch fish, and big ones, is when they spawn. These principles apply to ALL fish. There are many "basic" tips here, but here's one just for you .. try lightening up a little, if you have ?'s, just ask !
the moon phase also has a lot to do with where the moon is in the sky. directly overhead or directly underfoot are best. relates to low and high tide on tidal rivers and oceans. when real cold in winter and you get real warm, unusual day. the fish turn on. when it is real warm, and a cold front comes in. fish usually shut down. need any more specifics ? again ... just ask ! u can't cover everything in a short vid. you can always check out my web for more info as well ...
well damn .. i am not sure about that !? i believe it is called a "scum frog". It has a hollow rubber like, flexible plastic body with charteuse and white streamers behind it. It has a double hook that embeds in the rear and is GREAT for weed beds, pads and stuff (very weedless). Because of the soft body, it collapses when the fish hit and gives a great hookset. it works very similar to a hula popper, because it has a flat front the "chugs" the water. good luck !
ah perfect, I'm pretty sure I bought a similar one. I think its called the tournament popper frog made by snag proof..anyways thanks for the info! great video and best of luck out there
where are u ? maybe i could offer advice ... check the info on the video for lots on what we used. mainly senkos and some topwater. these particular ponds are private ... makes all the difference in the world. u are better off fishing large public lakes or rivers over public ponds.
i live in glen ellyn il the lake\pond i fish is about 6\7 acres most baits don't work i'll be out there for 4 or 5 hour and not get a nibble don't private lake cost money to fish there?
private fisheries is all about who you know. most don't admit with fee or charge ... you just have to know someone and get permission to fish. are you using a boat in this lake ? give me a little time and I will look into it and see what I can find for you ....
ummm ... HELLO !? aren't you near Lake Michigan !? ... need I say more ? :) i can look for more info, but need the name of your local lake. if for bass ... get out there at 5:30 am. fish any structure near the bank with plastic worm or senkos .... if there are fish in there ... you should catch a few. live bait almost always works if lures don't. minnows are all purpose ...
try this resource ... chicagolandfishing(dot)com/forums.
if it were me, this is what i would do. be on the water at first light (very important this time of year). take 4 rods. one with a weightless purple fleck senko (can also try fluke on same rig in white), one with a texas rigged red/black plastic worm (gulp), one with a blue/black jig with craw trailer, one with topwater frog....
work any structure you can find on the back very thoroughly with each until you find a pattern that works. once you hone in the pattern they want ... continue fishing your way around the bank, concentrating on any cover/structure you can find. moving water coming in or points are also key areas ... and dropoffs. everything i saw on this lake was small bass. first light and combination of these lures should tell you if any big ones are in there. chance are they are SOMEWHERE .... good luck !
big willow leaf spinnerbaits with white/ charteuse skirt are good for covering water and finding fish ... medium diving crankbaits are also good fish finders. once you find the pattern, it will usually keep producing ...
whats with the turtles, i caught one yesterday on a live bluegill, i thought it was a big bowfin or a catfish untill the head came up. very great videos and catches. 5* this is a fav and i subbed
Damn, dude. I just caught a snapping turtle about that size yesterday using hot dogs. I was going for catfish, but damn that turtle pulled hard. Nice catches and good luck.
what is it with the snapping turtles !? :D ... yeah ... when I hooked mine, I knew it wasn't a snag because of the movement, but also knew there was no fish in that pond big enough to pull that hard ! ... all explained when the turtle snout appeared ! thanks !!!
maybe ... but I will admit ... i barely ever use buzz or spinnerbaits ! ... but if I knew that was the goto lure to use to catch em .... I sure would !
I have a pond here in Sacramento that has some of the best Bass Fishing that I have ever seen. I JUST WANT TO REPLY TO SOME OF YOUR COMMENTS ABOUT TIPS FOR FISHING BASS: AT THIS TIME OF YEAR ON THE WEST COAST, BASS ARE IN SPAWN MODE: WHICH MEANS THEY ARE GOING TO BE ON REACTION STRIKES. THE BEST THING TO DO IN THIS CASE IS TO SET YOUR LURE IN FRONT OF THE BASS & BRING IT TO THEM. LESS EFFORT FOR THE BASS MEANS MORE FISH. THIS TIME OF YEAR ITS ALL ABOUT SEINKOS, & SPINNER BAITS.
hey bro any tips on topwater fishing, me and friends are fishing for bass/ trouts soon and we are using weight spinners, and chuggers. we have also heard not to use any weight and let the lure glide across the surface.
My fav topwater lures are mainly from heddon. the torpedo, tiny torpedo, pooch, puppy and spook all have their places ! classic hula poppers still work, too ! in this vid, we used a "scum" frog for the big catch and i caught one on it yesterday morn that went @ 2 lbs. topwater frogs can be unbeatable. experiment with presentation. twitch, twitch, twitch, stop ... repeat. or just steady straight in retrieve ... stop longer with frogs. good luck !
i don't think so ? got it when they first came out because i liked the graphics potential for the business ... and gas mileage and maneuverability and parking downtown !
Pond (in this case it looked like a great small lake) fishing is so much fun! Loved the turtle segment; I've caught several big snappers in the past.

I love the tip at the end on how to catch more fish, "Observe the moon phases and weather patterns..." That's real helpful, NOT!!
Those kind of tips are useless for a beginner and considering the video said Bass Fishing 101 (basic) I expected a nice basic tip.
