  • Tony hawk...

  • Or a rusty one

  • Your retarded! If a beetle gets in an accident then you can turn it into a baja. Not a strait original bug!!! If we keep doing this there will be no more standard beetles! Once it's a baja there's no turning back!

  • what brand are those headlights

im looking for some DOT approved headlight

    with the chrome housings

and how did you mount them?

  • I know this might be a dumb question but did you have to get the new floor pans welded?

  • @KONGONTOWER yes you do

  • I like the color COOL!!!

  • If you don't mind me asking about how much did it cont to do that and about how long did it take

  • I Have a 74 too, what type of Transaxle is it running?

  • Sick baja man. Love the vids of you tearin it up too. I just finished my baja not too long ago. I made a slide show of it too you should check it out. Look for John Deere baja bug...

  • are bajas 4wd?

  • A few 4wd bugs were made in WW2 for the German army. They were just a bug body bolted onto a Kubel frame (I believe it was Kubel..). Those aren't around anymore though but some people have customized their stock chassis to 4wd or put bug bodies on chassies of other 4wd cars

  • sweet job,but u need to add a roll cage to keep that bug tight for many years .

  • Has a 4 point but I'm in the market for a 6 :)

  • pretty sweet :D

  • Thanks!

  • awsome job so i have a 74 bug just like urs b4 it turned baja and im 14 so my dad and i are gonna turn it into a baja by ourselves and its gonna be mt only car for wen im goin to school so wat i want to know is if i do turn it into a baja do u think it is safe to drive to school like do u think any one will mess with the exposed engine or anything

  • Sounds cool! First of all make sure your bug isn't a super beetle- it won't even survive a slight beating! Well mine was not quite done when I was finishing high school but I've never had a problem when I got to stores or work. Just don't make anyone angry haha. Hard to tell with kids these days though. Best of luck to you though!

  • ya its not a superbeetle and thanks for the advice i hope i dont make someone mad

  • i drive my 74 baja to school everybody loves it. nobody messes with it. helps with the babes to. no lie. give a girl a ride home in your bajabug they will love it cause guarantee nobody else is going to have a bug. i know im the only guy at my school with a 74baja.

  • Props dude, Was the cutting part for the fiberglass as hard as the say it is?

  • No way! I imagine it is for the 7 piece kits but for this is was one cut against the firewall. I decided I could go further back if needed but it looked great! Now, some people do get fanct and cut out the remaining fenderwell for a littlre more clearance but I tihnk what I have is good enough, especially since I'm not racing it. If you need tips just write back and I can get detailed pictures up!

  • mate very nice i want to make a baja and you have given me an idea howd you think a bus would go

  • A baja bus? Seen it before actually. A much bigger project for sure. But people commonly use bus parts for their bug. I have a bus tranny I'm getting to put in soon myself!

  • Inspiring! I cannot wait to find a donor, grab a saw, and make me one too!

My first car was a baja 20 years ago, and I want another one- they get in your blood for sure.

  • Definately! I have this and a daily driver bug but I'm selling that this summer so I can pour more money into the baja! I just bought a 6 rib for it too so that's my next big project! HAHAHAHA! Love em.

  • your car is awsome awsome, im 15 and geting a baja bug tommorrow and i cant wait, just goes to show what you can do with some hard work and some friends.

  • Cool send some pics or post some videos when its done!

  • awesome!!!! i have a question.. did you modified the front beam?

  • The only thing I did to the front was cut off the stabilizer bar so that each wheel would become more independent of eachother.
