  • Everyone who's trying to correct her. Seriously get a life and wake up. She's 8. She's kicking your ass no matter what you're doing with your life.

  • too slow. she's good for 8 year child, but she must play easier things.

  • Wow you are playing 2 instruments!

  • @pop0313 She is enjoying in the beautiful melody... :-)

  • great,,,she si inside the music...she is an artist.

  • How many hours per day did she practice? Just curious. My daughter is dreaming of being in an orchestra and is starting violin. She doesn't realize that it means lots and lots and LOTS! of practice, not what she is putting in on her piano (1-1,5 hour per day), but probably at least double or more and amazing talent to progress this much in one year. Please, tell me.... she needs to know it's not a piece of cake!

  • @edytais I know this is like a 3 mnth. late replied and idk if ur already start your daughter on the orchestra. But I been playing since I was 6 and practice ATLEAST 3-4 hrs a day. It not just simply as playing, you must truly love your violin in order to play as well as Valerie did. I'm 13 now and practice 3hrs/day on weekday and 5 on sun and sat. I hope ur daughter can do well. I play violin, and piano, and I love them all dearly,i even dream im playing it ;)

  • @edytais It depends on the child. I know a mum whose daughter attended Juilliard Pre-College. She told me some kids practice 3-4hrs a day and it's enough but there's those who do alot more so it really depends on your daughter.

  • OMGOMG the beginning is in lady gaga's "alejandro"!!!!

  • wow! I'm playing this for ISSMA this year on flute. I'm 13 and I still can't play the fast part. This is really good especially for 8 years old.

  • I'm 16 and I'm playing this for my recital tonight...this makes me feel really lame. Haha good job little girl but stop being so good! You make the rest of us feel bad! Haha :)

  • I like that!

But she is too young for this opus it's hard and she is crunching for all the time!!

I have nothing bad to say about her ,but only stupid people give stuff like this to young children!!!

    Beyond belief:/

  • wooww she really love the violin... her aura makes me overflow wiv joy.. so emotional T.T definatley a prodigy and 1 tht enjoys it as well :D

  • WOw! amazing. this kid is a prodigy! can't believe she started at 7 and a year later she could play so well. So much emotion, so much talent. Bravo!

  • mas que maravilloso, unas niñas con demaciado talento las felicito :D

  • Excelente, una hermosa ejecucion.

  • She does it very well for being at her age. And she moves like a really professional violinis also.

  • made me cry its beautiful....

  • If you enjoyed this you will probably enjoy Brianna Kahane playing the same piece at 7 years old. Look her up :)

  • I think she did great!

also i think that 50 people missed the like button.

    great job =D

  • i thought she wuz gonna trip0:28

  • super;;nadom sypp::

  • impressive ! your violin style i love it. :)

  • ale alejandro!

  • She really enjoying her piece...

Her expression when she play the violin is 1000% better then me..

I can't put expression when play violin like that...

  • Nicely done! :) The notes were a bit scratchy and off, but just a little. Otherwise she did wonderfully. :)

Oh, and for the record, it's normal to play with your eyes closed and still be conscious, people. It's called feeling the music. I do the same thing when I play.

  • yes true... but it's sometimes hard for non-musicians to understand, because they don't really know what it feels like when you yourself is holding the instrument and making music...

  • @totothepuppydog yeah its really scratchy.. i can notice that because im also a musician.. a flutist actually but she really the best.. imagine she can play that at her young age!. and instead of putting the eyes close, i do the movement of swaying as feeling the rhythm.. :-)

  • Amazin!!

  • Csárdás

(Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈtʃaːrdaːʃ]) is a traditional Hungarian folk dance, the name derived from csárda (old Hungarian term for tavern).

  • Lindo demais! São essas coisas que alimentam minha alma!

  • I'd look at her from 5 to 10 yrs ago. She's simply a kid! Nothing Killing in her playing. it's playing, not serious performing

  • Jealous!

  • she's korean but she's in california?

  • Wow, so talented! The harmonic part looks so hard!! I'm still trying to learn an arrangement of this. Great job!

  • perfect...

  • wonderfull

  • awesome performence! is she a korean?

  • Comment removed

  • AMAZING!!!!! she really looks like she enjoyed it so much! performed with so much passion!

  • Perfect Practice Precedes Perfect Perfomorance....and this girl shows it all. Well done. :) so inspirational.

  • Vixe mãe eu peno pra tocar Brilha Brilha Estrelinha ashUShsuSHsuSHsuSHSUshSUSH, VAI TOCA ASSIM PRA LA ASHAUSAHSA

  • I envy her she almost do the vibrato perfectly...I want to learn it by myself but its hard for me to do that! =( but great job well done! =D

keep up the good work! =D

  • I feel so inferior. D:

This was what? after only playing violin for a year?

    T__T

I'm still just starting vibrato after a year of playing.

  • uyyyyy mierda... esa niña no es humana, toca como muy bien...

  • cesacional magnifico que gran talento

  • WHOOOOOOAAAAAA man!!!!!! this kid is awesome!!

  • upload your version so you can be compared to an 8 year old...you must be some insecure 40 year old with an inferiority complex

  • this comment makes me laugh. x]

  • Comment removed

  • i think koreans are naturally talented at violin

  • I love this piece i'm still learning it though

  • to hell with this... I'm throwing my violin away. Some of us are meant to play this bloody instrument, some of us aren't :(

  • send it me...

  • RaRaLandTV-I hope you didn't mean that literally.

Violin/any other instrument is NEVER easy to master at first. You should never really give up on an instrument. I admit I sound pretty bad at Violin, buttt I'll still try to master it somehow. :)

  • WOW??

  • Hehe yeah the Violin looks too big for her but I love the way she plays this piece. Romantic in the beginning, lively in the middle xD

  • Comment removed

  • oh my goodness! she is so talented, not to mention INCREDIBLY ADORABLE!

  • My father played violin in 2 orchestras, he could not play theses pieces, you are Amazing Valerie!..:-) God bless YOU!...

  • remembering she is only 8?

  • ... UM............. GREAT!

  • still very frightening, I don't know if it's manerism or real expression... tho this czardas is quite beautifull, this little girl just keep on confusing me.

  • it kinda looks like she was struggling a little bit the violin seems a bit too big for her but all in all great performance i give 5 stars!

  • Bv. 10

  • work on counting.....1 and 2 and.....also the fingering isn't very even....she is rushing and her tempo is moving at different places but overall not bad but still needs more work

  • Well.. She has lots of time.. considering she's.. eight...

  • Excelente, me encanta Czardas, te felicito y gracias.

  • amazing

  • i just performed and ive been playing for 8 years?!?!

  • she's better than you. From my perspective, with some practice and work, she'll be even better than Sarah Chang.

  • deberia de darle verguenza a los reggaetoneros, valla disiplina, quiero una hija asi de talentosa

  • 8 year old??? great!!! 5 star 4 you!!!

  • I read most of the comments, and I have to say watch out musicians a new talent rises in the our family ,RESPECT!!

  • Amazing, if I had seen her talent when I was I kid, I would have quit a long time ago. Violin was never my instrument and you can clearly tell she is passionate about it, unlike myself, whom cannot transfer my love to an instrument of my mother's choice. My piano skills may also be bloody horrible, but when I am happy the music is nice, however if I am sad, all the notes just came out wrong....

  • wow...ur not nice. im korean. and lotsa korean celebrities dont have beady eyes. takea look. jeez

  • Io starei un pochino più ferma, comunque sei brava!

  • lemme give u a tip...u should move less... then you will sound even better!!! your awsome...

  • maybe she don't have the choice because she's young and she don't have enough strengh to put more pressure on the bow ?

  • maybe halps wif her small hands reach the notes ALL the way ^_^ and gantafistor.. i think u also mite be rite =D

  • the composer is Vittorio Monti.

  • she's aweseom!

  • To Flickin' Pickin': Please shut up if you are not a musician or if you don't play the violin. As a violinist myself, I think she played just fine. It did sound a bit scratchy, probably because she needs to put more rosin on the horsehairs of her bow.

This sounds like a Russian rhapsody or something like that. Does anyone know who the composer of this piece is?

  • its czardas by monti.

  • Like to see Mr/Ms FlickinPickin play this so well. She's 8, hello! and doing awesome as far as I'm concerned. She'll get better with age.

  • ahah XDDD

    ur so funny XDDD

  • i no!!!she's so jokes!!!!lol

  • ~FlickinPickin

    Heh, your funny :)

Everyone, if you think he's mean, he's just expressing his opinions. It's not against the law to speak out on what she could improve on.

  • i don't think she's sleeping. she's just looking down.

  • A lot of famous violinists started when they were around 6-7 years old.

  • Okay, this is pretty nice, but she is so small. What kind of parents does she have? Please, give her a little break - i guess she plays all day. And great for a little kid, really beautiful performance.

  • amazing but is the technique she used for tempo changes a "valid" technique? My teacher taught me the whole breathing-and-conspicuously-nodding-your-head to indicate tempo changes

  • Listen here, she's fantastic for her age. Valerie here has already mastered many difficult techniques and I bet she would beat any adult that plays violin.

  • Valerie wake up !! i heard of sleep walking,but sleep fiddling ? ;))

  • You are so air head.

do you honestly think she is sleeping and playing same time. You must think she is really super, extra. Foolish!

  • 0:37 - 0:40 blah, horrible

    i didn't like

honey, your right hand is completly BLOCKED

  • Seriously, she's 8.

    Give her a break.

Could you do better when you were her age?

Yes, and adult can do it better. That's because they are an ADULT.

She's a LITTLE KID. She's amazing for a little kid.

  • Has nothing to do with view at all, she's 8 here and quite frankly expecting adult perfection from an 8 year old is just borderline stupidity.

If you go and look at her 3rd movement summer performance... 2 years later and shes performing better than most adults playing violin could ever hope to touch. Take age into consideration, it's important. As you age you gain motor skills etc etc.

  • It makes no difference if they are an adult or a little kid.. it takes practice.

  • Your so cute Valerie!!!! I'm your Fan for everrrr!!!

  • very goood for 8 yr old.. its a difficult piece.. one of the grade 8 pieces this year but i think she should prehaps have waited maybe a year later before playing pieces at this standard to work on tuning, tone, posture more ect and then it would have been AMAZING!!! but still very very goood for her age..

  • Unbeliveable , amazing :)))

  • Piano work also great !!! :)

  • watch any serious violinist: joshua bell, itzak perlman...NONE of them stand still. She is stunning, and is still discovering herself as an artist. this is raw and natural talent. It does sound a bit "tinny", which could also be the value of the recording, or the quality of strings she plays on. Regardless, this piece is demanding for any violinist, and for an 8 year old to show that kind of mastery is inspiring and touching.

  • Your right shoulder shouldn't be rising that much as you go to the G string. Also, some of your shifts in the beginning were off. Your tone in the second part of the piece was not too good. The 3rd part sounded very...gritty and harsh. Some of the double stops were off and the artificial harmonics were bad.

  • You wouldn't expect her to do all that! She is already playing at an upmost position that none - not even a random person of her age can play.

Her shifting was very good, tuning; I did not notice a single out-of-tune note.

One thing that all violinists should do regardless of their age and size; ALWAYS STAND STILL! Don't move your shoulders about or your body especially your posture over your waist. If you do then you will defo go out of tune.

Remember to relax your elbow and shoulders! :)

  • I agree that she sometimes makes extra movements, but that doesn't mean it doesn't help contribute to her performance. Like sometimes her movements help with the bow off of the string

  • she is to little she cant reach the notes in high positions on the g string, but for her age to play this piece is truly amazing, but mommy and daddy want too much from there little wonder kid.lol

  • there's some "grubby" tones and doesnt hold the bow perfectly? mate, she's 8 years old..

pretty impressive false harmonics too :)

  • very well done for an 8 year old

  • yo ekmslove have u ever heard of a fucking prod-a-geeeeee u idiot one kid that my teacher teaches can play that and hes 6 and probly better then i can play it and ive seen hm so back off bro ur just jealous cause u cant even do that or ur just a cockey annoying person.

  • Even for a child of 8 years, she is absolutely incredible!

  • I think she is playing with allot of feeling.she is just wonderful.

  • Super...

  • well done but to much moving around

  • Makes it more passionate and emotional. Which is good.

  • okay, WHY do people keep saying about "maturity" and "too young" GOd, who CAREs!? it doesnt MATTER how YOUNG you ARE, if you can play it, then yyou can play it. guess what, she can PlAY it. god, she looks pretty mature to me. 8 years old guys, god.

shes EIGHT. can play THAT. SURE,it might not be most difficult but its DIFFICULT.

& for an EIGHT year old, to PlAY it!? shes great, and you know it! shes playing with FEELINg,shes not "immature" sometimes i dont get these comments.

  • I couldn't agree with you more ekmslove!

  • thank you ;)

finally, someone normal comments on youtube. ;)

  • what do you mean she messed up in the second bar and maturity only comes with age and she laks this

  • oh..my..god.

i have been. doing. nothing., for the past 2 years. compared. to HER.

    ㅠ.ㅠ

    aghhhhhhhhhhhh

  • this is after only a year of playing?! Jeez, what have I been doing wrong for the last decade?

    Lol, she's absolutely amazing.

  • This is so absurd. If the video TITLE would be "blindfolded 8 yo plays violin solo" you would be like omgosh I gotta see that! And now she's keeping her eyes shut, which thus is only even more expressive and "good".

  • wow...this little girl is amazing! she really feels the music too. i LOVE how she's so into it. she is very, very good...excellent in fact!

  • :) wow,,,,

    qe amorooosaA

    ,, con 8 añiitos nomasS

  • for cying out loud to all you idiots and your stupid critisism....she's 8 and playing czardas...one of the most difficult pieces to play....she's talented plain and simple...a prodigy....keep up the good work little angel :)

  • Czardas certainly isn't "one of the most difficult pieces to play".

  • of course not,if you already know how to play it....HELLO??????????

  • Well... that wouldn't be a wise thing to say for someone in your position (Let's just say that I took a peek at your page and witnessed your "skills")... Hmmmm, On the other hand, I might be able to reconsider after experiencing your rendition of the Monti Czardas...

  • she's amazing!!!!!!...how adorable :) kudos!!!!

  • How long is she practiceing? Man!!! I can't belive!!! I looovee how she play!!!!

  • she's only playing since april 2006. prodigious.

  • no lol this is wen its recorded

  • I think she's very good for a year 8 violinist.

However, she could still improve some parts of the song. But this performance is quite impressive, really.

  • Okay, she probably plays better than you so you shouldn't be harsh. And no one should ever try to call an 8-year-old a retard. She does lack the maturity needed to play this piece but it sounds excellent. I'd like to hear you play this piece on youtube. try to play it just as well, but i doubt that will ever happen.

  • She is amazingly mature for her age. She is gonna do great things in the future. Some notes out of tune though. I dont really think you guys should be judging so much because I bet at her age, you couldnt play a C Major Scale in tune or do a vibrato like hers. I think she is amazing. None of us are perfect! Disney books?! SYKE!

  • She is really good but has tones of out of tune notes. I think it would be better if she chose an easier song.

  • Why is everyone so critical of this performence. She's eight! i couldn't play anything near the standard of this when i was eight. obviously technique will improve over time.

  • As long as directed in a constructive way, criticism is as necessary as food. Must be taken and digested. Valerie appreciates that aspect of learning.

Please see her later performance of same piece (somewhere in my channel) for evidence of this process.

I try to scan the comments and remove those with racial/ethnic/religious/sexual or other inappropriate tones.

  • wiggle wiggle wiggle!!!!

  • OMG she's 8. 8!! what age did she started?

She may be a bit young for this, but definitely gonna be very good in the future.

  • i agree. :/

  • gahd whats ur deal she is 8! i bet u couldnt do that at 8 years old

  • The piece is indeed a bit difficult for her from a technical point of view. But this absolutely doesn't mean that she has no technique. Besides she is amazing mature for her age. The character of the music is really there. She plays it like it has to be played: a real czardas.

  • You sound like my violin teacher xD

  • she's very very good but she doesn't have the maturity to play this song with the correct feeling.

    still amazing =D

  • You know what. Just know. That's impossible. Go away.

    haha.... OMG ROCK ON! =]

  • can't describe it in words. she is VERY good... very talented

  • wow she's absolutely amazing for such a small person.....

  • she plays with such passion for being so small, and she plays it very well for her age.

although i feel this piece is a bit too mature for her, because i feel you need a little bit more experience in order to get the correct "feel" of the piece.

although i enjoyed the performance. she played extremely well.

  • i agree with muzykantka14; she's too young for this.

  • shes fuckien good

  • She's freaky good... <;(

  • its creepy how good she is!!!

  • Thats not exacty what i wanted to hear but you she is not bad i think. She is to young for Czardas. (But i also think that she is talended)

  • bravo!

  • is she for real? O.O

  • she is definitely for real.

  • wow...

  • double wow...

  • triple wow...

  • darn those crazy asians with their crazy talent! Xo

  • Lol, everyone thinks asians are always so talented. I think we see alot of talented asian musicians simply because in their culture, there is more pressure on them to succeed. More asian parents would sign up their kids for music lessons than people from other cultures.

For example, how many arabs do you see involved in classical music? Not many. Their parents would rather they become doctors or engineers, lol.

  • Yeah I know that. haha. It's because the
