wow i've never seen a lot of these early pix! my generation tends to be more acquainted with the Alice arnd the late 80s. thanks for sharing! man he looks odd in the hippie getup at 0:21 - wtf? haha.
its quite amazing...ppl would nvr associate Alice Cooper with the Beatles, yet u can c the influences frm the Fab Four when it comes 2 instrumental composition. he's always placed tremendous importance on crafting - the world shd know he's more than a theatrical gimmick, he's genuinely gifted.
I liked your choice of images -- young Coop up through the time of that song. Man, looking at those last pictures though I'm glad he survived that period in his life! Go Coop! :)
not only a great song, but a great album as well. Flush the fashion, Special Forces, Zipper catches Skin and DaDa are all great albums that should not be overlooked
Theres this one particular song on this same album here titled 'No Bologna Homosapiens. A realy crazy tune and personal havorite of mine. I wonder if theres a video for that song? That one would make a realy good video and stage number.
No BaloNEY Homosapiens. OOOPS! Pardon me. I must've been thinking Oscar Meyer unstead of Alice Cooper there. Now, if you'l excuse me, I must bop my own......
Now that this eras being discoverd and geting some exposure to fans perhaps these songs will catch up and atain some popular status. I think that some of these songs do have classic potential and would also make great stage numbers in Alices show.
This whole period was pretty obscure for a long time, but Alice has said that he is not ashamed of this era, that it was creatively satisfying and that some of his favorite songs of his are even from it. However he'd neglected performing these songs in concert, for a long time afterward, because he did'nt think there was any big audience demand for them. However I understand that he has been doing some of them in his more recent shows.
Cool song, and yes I have seen alice perform it live once at least. It was on tv I think. He performd it wearing a graduation ceramony cap & gown along with his trademark mascera. The movie was pretty cool too. good early 80's violent exploitation type flick. Kind'a a punk era version of 'The Blackboard Jungle, and it even featured old Rody Macdowel in it. Remember him?
I remember the film i was a fan from 85 what a soundtrack! they were the days thank you! growing up listening to Alice and riding my BMX with freinds from school
Michael j Fox, is only a secondary character, in the film, what i revealed has no reall bearing on the film, which is about a teacher in a high school, who faces off against some high school kids.
Class of 1984, superb film, that was banned for years here in the uk, the print that was banned was actually a cut print, dont know the current status of the film here in uk.
it's from 1982's Zipper Catches Skin album, but this is the single mix version. great song, great album - it's like Alice on speed, a bizarre hyperactive rant with totally warped lyrical content and themes (like Special Forces album) set upon his highest energy rock (like Trash album), a strange but fun ride - get it!
Zipper Catches Skin is one of my fave Cooper albums. From Zorro's Ascent to That Was the Day My Dead Pet Returned To Save My life... pure entertainment!!!

Did anyone know Frank Zappa discovered Alice Cooper in the late 60's and I believe coopers first recording was a song on the "zapped" album.
