AA not the only way? No one in AA claims that, that for sure. It's a way that worked for a couple of guys and it rarely fails for people who thoroughly follow their suggestions.
@linkdude64 I didn't fail AA. AA is the failure. Tried Charlie's method and wow... It really works. Hate to say it since he's a nut, but he was right.
The problem is that when it comes to treatment, people do not understand the science behind what are standards for treatment. I suggest you read about the characterisitics of pseudoscience and then look at the 12Step program.I also suggest you read an article in the web"Why Bogus Therapies Often Seem to Work"Most clinical practitians do not test their hypothesis and in the case of the 12Step is a clasic case. Neither BoborBill where behavioral scientist.12 Step programs basically faith healing.
i am 63 and did drugs and alcohol(the worst drug around) for many many years. i finally did go to AA& NA. i whole heartedly disagree that these programs do not work!!! it takes a lot of work on your part to stay clean. let's face it, we addicts do not like to work. i relasped so many times and was always accepted back- never ever judged! people got frustrated with me but never made me feel unwanted-quite the opposite! i have cancer and other health problems now and i still use what AA taught me!
@dogcat126 You had the complete opposite experience of me. AA was the worst thing I ever tried in my life. If AA were the only way, I'd rather still be drinking.
when my babys father was i belived suicidal , i asked his sponser for help, he told me it was in my mind and brushed me off two weeks later i came home to find my boyfriend dead, he had taken his life. then the woman sponcering me after helpig me thru the funeral let me go as she could not cope with my saddness etc !! wenever i went to a meeting i found some kind people but noticed if you take a drink you will be shunned by those who were close. notice the pyramid on aa/na medals illuminati !

AA is a nasty little deceptive cult.They've manipulated the government, healthcare system and even the criminal justice system into their web of deception. AA is one big fraud. They say one thing and mean another. They are found on the principals of the religious temperance movement of the 1920s. The war on drugs is a fraud too. It is sponsored by the tobacco, liquor and phamacuetic inds, prisons, legalsystem etc
