You know as a young, Australian Greek, my relatives have suffered in Greece from the finance problems and the seniors not getting oension money now. The reason why us Greeks went into the financial crisis is because of refugees not working because my dad was telling me alot of refugees go into Greece and Turkey. I don't want Australia to make the same mistake my country made :( so please Ms. Gillard stop the refugees!

@YianniMarinosCovers Thats so true! i saw some video on here that showed how Greece is so flooded with Immigrants and all they do is live off welfare and the government. Its the same problem all over Europe! They don't get jobs because there are hardly any available in the first place so it ends up with heaps of people being unemployed. And the locals hate it. There is nothing good about asylum seekers! The more you let in the more arrive at your door.

This was one of the best documentry series I have ever seen. Stop pointing fingers and saying who is racist and who isnt. The point of this series if for people to stop treating refugees as a number and empathise and understand them. This issue is complex and will not be solved over Youtube fighting. Get a life people. Missing the point! There is NO DEBATE that it would be a hard road and a life altering event. You're wasting time by getting sentimental about it as helping these people is the downstream approach, someone should address the reason why they were initially displaced to begin with.

@trje246 Assuming they were displaced and had not made an economic decision to plug themselves into Australias health and welfare system, the primary reason for displacement from Muslim countries is the laws are based on a religion that fails to create nations fit for human habitation. Unless they abandon Islam, the reason for displacement will never be gone.

Brilliant series. Try to find solutions I heard leaky boat on abc say that resettlement of 4,000 refugees would cost 260 million dollars Yes the refugees deserve better. Everyone agrees. money better spent improving the conditions in the camps in situ. not run by burocracy costing more but allocated by people on the ground volunteers aid agencies to provide work in the camps set up gardens create safer community so women dont need to go outside camps risking rape we can help smarter.

They should tell the truth about how QUEUE JUMPERS get to Australia.

These well paid, wealthy economic migrants get a flight from Iran, Pakistan, etc into Indonesia. Then they burn their identification papers, pay people smugglers tens of thousands of dollars and jump on a leaky boat headed for Australia. The people smugglers give them the script on what to say once they get here... how their life was hell back home and they were persecuted, a real sob story.

Then they fly back for holidays!
