This processing with Hypercam destroyed most of the picture quality, not really representative unfortunately. I can see that the original recording was really nice, but the end result with less than 20 fps and horrible compression rate is really poor. I wish you have put up a proper version of this.
Another 7D problem (for me) is no sighting thru viewfinder! You can not shot video with the camera to your eye, you HAVE to view the LDC which in bright sun, is challenging at best, and forget about seeing if you are in focus or not. I miss not being able to be solidly "part of the camera" especially when following moving action, pulling focus, and zooming for effect.
Trigga1uk: Thanks for the info. I know there's a lot more you can add on, but to shoot without a tripod (and motorized zoom) with this camera is nearly impossible for some kinds of shots. Still, I love the clarity and know things like dial preset customization will make things a lot easier.

Sadly, this potentially great camera was ruined by the marketing muppeteers at Canon who elected to cram too many megapixels on the small APS-C sensor, thus compromising the purity of the sensel signal.
If the 7D would have launched as a 10mp camera, the 7D would have been incredible. So close, yet so far.
Interesting possibilities. 18 megapixel 35 mm sensor, I believe 4.5 per frame in video mode 24/30/60p, 8 frames a second burst photo mode, no auto focus [just like the old days of film], audio questionable, etc. Lens is everything, Canon is top notch. Take an old 4mpxl 1d, add a processor to digitize 24/30/60p fps, add whatever priced lens you want/afford and you have a 7D [more or less] Inexpensive by professional standards. Nice stuff. Camera=1x35mm still x 1/8/15/24/25/30/60/+ = video. Cut.
It's a demo, I'm assuming it's made by Canon. If so, they want to use the best lenses that they make. They might as well if they have the resources. They're not going to use the kit lens...
For example, the TS-E17 goes for $2,800.
The EF50 is about $1,600.
Check out Phillip Bloom's vids on Youtube, he's got a few with the 7D paired up with different lenses.
this camera should have been FF except that would have eliminated the 5dMK2, yes the new 1d will be a kick ass camera but its going to be 4k+ this isnt for that consumer.
Can you please describe for us what color correction and other effects used PLEASE

I like the female models better than the videos. Heard some negatives about the video output qaulity. Striping, flares, etc...

@JamageFilms
It's not a 35mm sensor unfortunately. Dual digic 4's tho, looks pretty good all around.
PartialtoGreen 2 years ago
@JamageFilms it's not a 35mm sensor. It have a 1.6 crop like all consumer and semi pro canon cameras (minus the 5d).

ANYONE PLEASE tell me u get this kind of quality out the box? our u have to buy parts to it?adapter?
hitm4n04 2 years ago
You'll still need to get decent lenses to get the shallow depth of field look, which may or may not cost more than the camera.
Look for lenses that open up to an aperture of 1.4 and wider. Also tilt shift lenses. (or a lensbaby to save money)

I just noticed that all of the lenses are listed at the end.

wait... whats the canon 1D? Will it be the god amongst canon camera?
fourth1000 2 years ago
I should be ok with this camera... I wish it was a FF but it would have been another $499-$849 added to the price.
I am hoping the AF is powerful. I am hoping as I continue to learn how to get the right exposure, i don't have too spend too much time in photoshop!
great vid!

search vimeo for 5DMII and Camille. Guy does AMAZING work ...better than Laforet. He makes it look like Super16 Film without 20k in equipment.
I think 7D will rock. I'm not sure if I want to buy it since I'm already happy with my 5DMII. Ugh decisions.
I'll probably get it tho haha. More AF points, better FPS, better Video control. Better Build quality.
BUT, no Full Frame. The fact that my 5DII is full frame...I can live with it being $1k more. IQ is thru the roof and holds well in photoshop.
