  • With some air in that front tire I bet it would do at least 115 mph!

  • @HeavyHitter5150

I was very lucky by that filming cause I noticed the tire pressure problem later in the garage, it could have been worse

  • the seat is made of a regular W650 seat. I took off everything and left just the metal frame of it.

then I glued several layers of foam on it and shaped it, then covered it with leather. I'm not sure if w650 and w800 seats are compatible

  • I love that seat! What do they call it? Do they have it for W800?

  • My 500cc Norton's factory dyno sheet from 1963 shows it making 50bhp, and it weighs at least 100lbs less than the W650 ready to go. With later engine mods it's horsepower is close to 60bhp now. Bike finished 6th in Canadian Grand Prix behind Hailwood, Agostini and Duff. Typical top speed for 500cc Norton racing bikes is 120-130mph....

  • According to a Cycle World magazine W650 test, this engine produces 44.7 hp at 7,050 rpm and 37.5 ft. lbs. of torque at 5,100 rpm at the rear wheel.

Performance figures from the same Cycle World test revealed a 1/4 mile time of 14.33 seconds at 92.54 mpm, and a 0-60 time of 5.6 seconds. The bike's top speed was 101 mph, and it averaged 41 miles per gallon of fuel. Weight with fuel and oil is 460 lbs..

  • @nortonshit

101mph - correct for the factory bike which has a lousy straight stability at high speed has no clipons, steering damper, progressive spring forks, carbtuning - like mine. Mine does 120, no problem, and on the corners is much superior than an oldie - don't forget the disk brake,

  • Putting a Norton logo on this Kawasaki makes the bike and the rider both look sad no matter what the intention was......

  • @nortonshit

What really sad is we can't set up a drag race on the streets to measure my bikes superiority in power & handling compared to yer old missfiring Norton - cause we live on opposite sides of the globe

  • very good bike I like this retro classic style

  • He's keeping her lit i tell you.....

  • Dude.

    Norton badge.

    Off.

    Now.

  • Lovely bike. But why is the rider wearing a MOD helmet? It'd better be a trophy!

  • @noonsight2010

Hahaha! Come on, mods and rockers are not rivals any more, it's history, we got older and wiser

  • @rcFlyrodeo

Hmmmm! I don't mind the music I admit. But I hate scooters!

  • @noonsight2010

    Me too!

  • Where did you get your clip ons?

  • @raginspo

bought on ebay, they are german Telefix clip-ons

  • Nice bike if you ditch the silly Norton tank badge

  • @MissClone

thanx, constructive critics is always welcome!

  • @MissClone

What's wrong with having the Norton logo on the gasoline tank?

  • @GTVAlfaMan Cause its not a Norton!!

  • Nice machine. But aren't you asking for trouble making your lawbreaking public? Also, the present day speed limits came about due to the E-Type Jaguar being introduced in 1961. The rockers weren't breaking the law, they were just being daft. hth

  • looks hand side before the tire pressure to make the video

  • A seat & a Norton badge doth not a cafe racer make.

Kawasaki W650 is a fine and beautiful bike, and can be decently caffed.

    This aint it.

  • @breldendrorff

Yes, but what if u r wrong?

  • @breldendrorff

Yes, but what if u r wrong?

  • @rcFlyrodeo

Me? Wrong? Don't be ridiculous..... ;)

Have a look at vicente-design website for a superb caffed W650.

The W650 is a fine bike in its own right, and gains nothing by having Norton stuck on its tank - except derisory laughter from both Norton & Dubbya riders. Trust me - it's naff. A mistake.

I own a W650 - a way better ride than a Norton...... (although I admit I've not tried the new one) You do have a nice looking bike there, but that Norton badge is a real spoiler

  • @breldendrorff

OK, this bike cost me 3000 € and another 4000€ to tune and customize it. It handles and goes much better than an original one. I worked 6 month on it, looks, goes and sounds like a cafe racer, and it does what it"s supposed to do - the TON - simple as that. The Norton badge was added to show how the perfect Norton should have look like if the brits could have achieve that level in the 60s. Otherwise any other opinion is just an opinion with a subjective caracter.

  • The stock bike will do over a ton no problem, Dynojetting will get 120.

The Norton looked just fine in the sixties.

A Norton Badge on a Kawasaki looks as ludicrous as a Kawasaki badge would look on a Norton.

  • @breldendrorff

"Dave, this conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye"

    HAL 9000

  • @breldendrorff Kawaton? No, um, Nortasaki? Don't think so, how about Domisaki,... um maybe Comasaki? Forget it, I give up.

  • you put a norton badge on your kawi? is that what makes your bike a cafe racer?

  • @xedge4lifex

I c, looks like u need some help, as I can't give the link here cause youtube not allows it, but for finding out what makes a cafe racer just give a search on wikipedia for "cafe racer"

Have fun reading it, and try to memorise it!

  • @rcFlyrodeo Why did you stick norton logo on kawasaki? Its like Ferrari badge on red miata.

This is not cafe racer, its poser dork on old japanese bike with norton badge.

  • why spend the time getting your hands dirty when you can just buy some stickers, gear, and a brand new bike? sounds like you have a real cafe racer there, see if they have any british accents at the kawi dealership for you to pick up to complete the whole look.

  • Where did you get them mirrors from dude?

  • @GingerDave89

bought them from Louis germany, but they r not sellin'em any more

  • sick helmet

  • Why put Norton on ya tank..??

  • @SpeedTriple59

It"s just a classic case of misleading a certain biker category and making fun of it. The ones who really know about bikes can see immediately it's a W650 and not a 650SS or Dominator and that is good so :-)

If I wanted a real real Norton would have buy a real one, believe was not a money issue.

  • not a very safe place to be doing a Hollywood production...... but the bike is cool, so much unmistakable character on a Cafe Racer.
