CBS was the first, with their excellent segment on life as a Palestinian when the soldiers and the settlements roll into town. It's sad that it is so hard to get even this story, but I hope they fall like dominos. The American people are opening their eyes to the reality.

Much of the accusations against Amanpour are true. She was also accused of biased reporting during the the Bosnian war, and brought up on charges. She is the person most often cited as the beginning of the end of objective journalism. Whatever she reports on, expect to hear a bias.

It's like a racist group that has some good ideas about the economy. Take that one idea and make sure you reject the rest. I think Israelis, and more importantly AIPAC, feel that the criticisms don't come with disclaimers or context. We need more reasoned criticism of Israel outside of Israel, a place where reasoned criticism flourishes!

The problem is that Israel has escalated the situation to such a crazy extreme that it's now quicker to list the things they are doing right.
They seem not to care at all about any of the international community. They kill civilians by the thousands. They were directly responsible for Hamas' rise to power, which they then used as an excuse to oppress the Palestinians even further.
I have no vested interest in either side, but the Palestinians are clearly the underdog here.

Understandably most Israelis probably care more about their own security than about long term pacification of Palestinians, or at least their politicians fear that insecurity will lose them votes. Sometimes appeasement is best when the danger to you is relatively small compared to the benefits of peace. It isn't easy though when your enemy is mostly hurting himself.
