A rare and good opportunity to hear Hari Priya singing Gamakakriya alapana by herself. There was a time when the general feeling was that Shanmukhapriya often appeared to take the lead; but now the two sisters are more balanced. Haripriya also has a pleasant voice just like her sister. This alapana is fully developed and beautifully rendered, and so soothing to hear. The violinist is superb also.
Good to hear the individual voice of this sister (Shanmuga?) and enjoy seeing her perform. I usually get the feeling that it's the other sister who takes the lead most of the time and have always wondered why, though she too sings well, of course.
This one of the Priya sister duo has matured considerably in her singing (the other sister having done so even earlier) , presumably with the benefit of Guru Sri PS Narayanaswami. She has made considerable effort to delineate the Raga Purvikalyani in detail. Nice to know that two young artistes are enthralling thousands all over the world, with a style that was basically inherited from the famous Radha-Jyalakshmi sisters. We wish them God's blessings
