I've head aftermarket BOV's, on the MS3, cause overboost and that causes engine damage. Is this true?

@ScorpiosBite1 I would say no. All internal combustion engines run off of vacuum..... Blow off valve run off of vacuum, at WOT an engine produces no vacuum causing the valve to remain closed, and when the accelerator is released vacuum runs through the lines causing it to open.

@pschultz91 ebc (electronic boost controller; set it to whatever you want), tmic (top mount intercooler; usually 1-2 psi), dp (downpipe; usually 1-3 psi), cobb ap (accessort; depends on the tune)

I loved the sound of the HKS SSQV at high boost but at low boost I'm not sure mine was working right because I would get backfires occasionally like the air was recirculating properly. Plus it was wearing a groove in the plastic of the hood so I went back to stock for now.

@erod550 The reason you are getting a backfire is because of the BOV , It's not ness. a bad thing. your MAF isn't getting the air it's sending the fuel for when you VTA . I get it under heavy loads and have been tuned and tested . I've learned to live with it and it's nice when someone pisses you off and you drop one by their window

i have a ms6 same bov valve, the ssqv recirculated, mine flutters a little just like yours, it is mostly only at low boost, just wondering if that is how it is supposed to sound i know everyone thinks its compressor surge, but i have read that it is common with these blow offs valves.

I wouldnt worry, its a perfectly normal sound for a recirc BOV. My car has been doing it since the conversion for 4 years and still going strong. A lot of people will say it cpmpressor surge that occurs when the gas pedal is depressed, as the turbine sucks air in more than the engine can handle the engine rejects the air and it travels back down the system towards the turbo. bov flutter happens on partial boost and is the sound of the air reentering the system.

I have been debating Rally gold or black powder coating for my wheels on my pearl white Mazdaspeed 3! So far iam leaning towards Rally gold after seeing this video...Nice ride MS3Unit! I will soon add CAI & BOV! I hope it responds well with these mods...
