  • Thank you Marty, great lesson. Now I have to learn the solo. All the best

  • need lesson for Coldplay-Paradise.. plz

  • how the hell am i gonna do a Bminor..? Plz.. help i need tips :$

  • thts not a f diminished, its a B diminished.

  • Hey, great lesson just one question, do you do the whole pattern on one chord then change chords when the pattern repeats it self ?

  • Hey Marty, thanks for all the great posts...You make it fun, informative, and best of all, we LEARN!...There is one song that you havent posted yet...Hall & Oats ACOUSTIC version of "Sarah Smile"...Up for it?...I want to learn how to play it for my wife...Appreciate it...

  • Marty, there is a key change in the song and I figured it out all the way through except for the transition. Please help.

  • you are a douche!!!

  • are you high dude?

  • What about:" What is life" by George Harrison

  • how much time i need to play the main thing? D D D U D UU UDUDU

  • Marty, I've been playing for a year now and many of my now 20 songs I've learned from you...you make it so simple to learn. Thank you. You ROCK!

  • how much guittars in the song you play?? like the chord and the start and the second thing D D D U D UU UDUD its all the same guitar? or its few guitars?

    please answer.

  • its simple all you have to do is f.g,n x-434-324-23-423-3 WTF IS ALL THIS SHIT!!! IM A BEGGINER!!!!!!!!!

  • I can't do that B minor barre chord yet, but the "easy B minor" xxo432 (capo 1) doesn't sound too bad, is a lot easier to get to from D, and that way I didn't have to give up on the song, which is otherwise so easy and fun to play for a total beginner like me. Thank you for this lesson.

  • put the capo on the second fret, like Harrison did, and it will sound better

  • Merci , Marty , pour toutes tes super vidéos ,qui nous font rêver, nous qui apprenons à jouer seuls, tu es un excellent professeur.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012

  • Martyyyy, full guitar gently weeps lesson pleasee, I know I'm not the only one to ask so I was wondering if you could possibly do that?

  • Marty, You probably know he changes keys. Have not heard it in awhile, so I don't remember where, but people might like to know.

  • I was just started messing around like we begginers do and fell upon E and A and asked my wife what song this was as i was strumming along and She told me. "My Sweet Lord" and of course I had to know how to play the rest of it and here I am...Thanks again Marty your the best!

  • ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff entaooooo ????

  • That sounds great, I am going to try that today. Thanks

  • You have INSPIRED ME! Thanks for doing these lessons!

  • Hmmm...this video is dated December 2009 which means it's 2 years old so I am wondering if you, marty, are still around and active because I would also like to make a request.

  • Where's the 2º part???

  • Hi Marty!!! you're a great guitar teacher (and player, obviously). Can you teach The Wizard by Uriah Heep? Please!!!

  • Capo is for the newbees,I hate capos .

  • @rpcmrsz2008 "GH" usedv the capo you tool!!!

  • thanks for making learning this so easy! im a beginnier and have always been wanting to learn this song :) thank you

  • Capo should be on 2.The first actual chord is an F#minor although the fingering would be the same that you have shown

  • che è una lezione molto bella

  • Could you teach us let's live for today by the grass roots? - the link didn't take me to a place to make a song request.

  • funny and slow enough

    Thanks

  • i was gonna like the top comment but i thought id leave it at 69.

  • thanks ...especially for the subtle 'jazz' chord. George sang this at the Concert for Bangladesh ...and for me, being from that country, this song is like a second anthem. And you know what ...you should sing more in your vids :D ...not half bad!

  • Awesome lesson!! Will you teach blackbird by the Beatles? Please marty

  • @Jjpv6828 marty already did it, check in his channel

  • ..the Day i manage to get B minor like that will be the day when i Start Growing Strawberries out my ears!..

  • while my guitar gently weeps solo lesson, lets do it marty!!!!!

  • Thanks for the lesson, Marty! How about 'I still love you'- Rod Stewart?

  • Wonderful, how didn't i find this sooner?!

Great Lesson. =D and a Great Song

  • thanks fo the tips and the lesson marty!!!!

  • bravissimo

  • My Sweet Marty

  • thanks marty you are the greatest!!!!!

  • try going Am to D Am to D repeat G Em G Em G E7 Am D thats how i play it for begginers

  • there is also a key change which comes with some really tricky chords, that are not shown oh this vid

  • Or just tune up a half step, I find it easier

  • my name is george i m froom is mexican my city is city juarez my years old is nine hi

  • Marty is that a Nylon Guitar???

  • @SevenScreamingSnakes it's a steel string acoustic guitar not a nylon classical guitar

  • If you're gonna use a capo it should be on the 2nd Fret not the 1st Fret if you want to play it like George Harrison. Other than that sounds good

  • Your lessons are really good. Just started learning, tried years ago and gave up but this time I'm on it.Thx for posting them all :)

  • If a could pay you 500 bucks online i would! Im really thankful to have you Marty! You're the man! Yes i believe what they say, You're the most helpful person on YouTube!

  • F**k you B7...you awkward son of a b**ch!

love you mardy, keep up the good work!

  • Thanks Marty for the lesson, this lesson helped me get the B7 chords down better! I always had a hard time with it but playing D to B7 helped me out. The Beatles used that chord a lot!! Robert

  • @neogeoriffic You do understand that DUDU stands for Down Up Down Up right? He's not gonna show you "just the cords", and if you're looking for "just the cords", you're searching the wrong place. Strumming pattern is also really important, so instead of going "Wtf" right away, maybe you should know where you are and what you want.

  • Nice job, I was able to get through it without a problem...thanks

  • I like friend the way you are teaching, thanks

  • you guys have heard of different keys right?

  • Great! But the song starts with F#m, not Fm.

  • Please a lesson for George Harrison's song Beautiful Girl Acoustic version no one has one!

  • WOW YOUR FAB IAM 16 and love the beatles not alot of young kids my age love the beatles like i do hear comes the sun if my fav from george and i would love it if u could play that so i can learn of a fag guitar player thanks alot stace

  • NIce vid. Helped me a lot. THanks ;)

  • Sweet, Thanks Bro!!!!

  • if u have no capo use a pen or pensil with a rubber band that should work

  • how about the intro tab,,,,

  • you are so ignorant! It isn't E- because it is F-! You can't take an F-?

  • thanks man. you really helped.

  • crap! a rubber band dosen't work as a capo

  • thank you Marty that will soon be in my repertoire.

  • you are great!

  • Marty, can you help me with Sam Lightnin' Hopkins' version of 'Take Me Back'? I love it but just can't get a handle on it. Thanks.

  • Good stuff. Thanks from Dublane Scotland.

  • Excellent breakdown and excellent instruction.

  • is there an easier way to play the b minor and b7 chords? thanks :)

  • @PalmerNirvana there's an easier way to play b minor yea

  • @Zasalamel49 How do you do that? (:

  • @PalmerNirvana lol, i like the smiley. K, so what you do is (with capo on), first finger on the 2nd fret of the High E String, 2nd finger on the 3rd fret of the B string, and your third finger on the 4th fret of the G string. I'll repeat:

    1st Finger/2nd High E

    2nd Finger/3rd B

    3rd Finger/4th G

    :D

  • TU ERES EL DOWN

  • Hey Marty. I just wanted to tell you that your tutorials are awesome! They are by far the best videos on YouTube. I've learned about 10 songs from you on YouTube and each one gets easier than the one before it. Thanks for all the help and please keep posting!

  • Putting the capo on the 2nd fret made it work for me. When I had it on the first fret it sounded quite horrible. Why does Marty's still sound good with the capo being on the first fret?

  • Great Video from a beautiful song.

I'm learning guitar thanks to you and your videos. Please follow this way

  • great video.. so easy to follow. thx marty

  • Muy bueno, gracias desde España!!!

  • you re the best Marty !!! skip the F diminished help me a lot

  • Hey Marty, another great video - many thanks. I tried a D# diminished after D major and sounds okay and it's very similar to D major to its easier to get into (up a string and add pinky). I also cheated with the B minor by not barring it. For a beginner I found this a little easier. I think the thing about which fret to position the capo doesn't really matter too much (2nd fret for me), its just so the open chords don't continue to ring out and make it sound muddy. Thanks again.

  • USE THE SCHWARTZ!!!

  • I just watched George Harrison play this on a youTube vid with a band, and he played an acoustic guitar with the capo on the second fret. I would imagine he did that because of the key he wanted to sing it in. I think you can put that capo on any dang fret you want. As they say, if it sounds good to you, then screw what the so called "experts" say/think. Great lesson again Marty. I did play it with the capo on the second fret. Then again on the first fret. It's fret hell for me, I guess.

  • see this is what I like that Marty does

    he tells you the options

that F diminished gives it that nuanced sound

    thanks

  • Marty's DVD's are very helpful

  • Ok, got the down, up, up, up, down, down, down, up,up,up.......thing

  • you explain it better than most of the others, thanks mate.

  • key change half way ?

  • Comment removed

  • Damn you B minor, you can go to hell

  • @i3oosted you'll get it.. just keep playing~!

  • Are you sure that capo isn't suppose to be on the 2nd fret???

    This sounds flat to me...

  • @beresitha9 Watch George Harrison play it on stage at The Concert for Bangladesh. Exact same chords progression. For the 2nd part click on the request song link. You get the video link. It's free. I got it for Yesterday.

  • what guitar is that? it's got a really nice finish

  • Thanks for keeping it simple Marty. Just added this to the "songs I can play" list. Lets see, that makes a total of 2 now. Keep em comin'!

  • Thanks Marty, Hare Krishna!!

  • good one marty best so far !

  • Really great job man!

I love this song of one of the four better of the world :)

  • Do you realise how many tutorials marty has posted? He probably just got mixed up with another song with the Capo. Calm you're hormones. Great job marty! Always a big help! :)

  • Thanks for putting the time and effort to give us all these great videos! I just started playing guitar and thanks to you this is the first real song I've learned to play

  • Hello Marty...please explain how to play lead guitar solo....

  • Thanks. Nicely done. The key goes up a tone half way through....could you possibly show that?

  • put that capo on the second fret and then do it again ;)

  • Dude, This was Special and for that I say Thanks a Lot Marty

  • good lesson for a beginner like myself.

I will suggest you help with the positions of fingering better

Don't worry about what these other losers comment. Great job!

    Thanks

  • what about the key change when he plays Fm and B instead of Em and A? talk about a half arsed lesson

  • @DaIrishGuy Click on the request song link. You get the video link. It's free. I got it for Yesterday.

  • the capo dosent go on the metal parts of the fret board.

  • The capo goes on the 2nd fret dude, show people the correct way or stop posting.

  • @MrRickyspencer if your to stupid to not be able to fix it yourself maybe you should stop playing guitar. he is playing the song right. its still the same chords no matter were the capo is.

  • Dude, you look like John Belushi. Thanks for the tute bud.

  • I'm not trying to bust any chops but just for everyone's information, the capo should be on the second fret for the correct key of the recording. Thanks for doing these tutorials Marty.

  • @Fiverrdrums Atleast, you know the rest..

  • DUDE MARTY UR THE COOLEST!!!!

  • Man, I just love all your tutorials! They help me so much, I've learned so many songs thanks to you. Keep up the great work!

  • hey marty what about the solo part?

  • thanks-

I am going to use the Fdim chord.

  • thanks for your tutorial! you are a very good teacher.

but could you do the whole song in the tutorial please?

    it would be sooo great!!

  • Thank you Marty for your help!!
