I've never been fond of "survival saws" or of saws of this kind. Not that they aren't good, or that they are bulky or too heavy, but it might tear holes or something. Besides I ALWAYS carry my oversized 1095 carbon steel mora style knife.Made it myself. It hacks like crazy and with greater ease than that of an ax or hatchet. I never leave home without it. Even if I were to lose it I know enough primitive skills to make whatever I need. I would make a vid but no camera and I use library computers
now, one following step could be where there is 'natural oil' or whatnot to keep that chain nice and oiled in the wilderness. I think whale oil would be kinda hard to obtain.
@farinasa I haven't yet; diapers are too expensive for my two children lol. I will probably get one after tax season though =P I gotta tell you, I'm very satisfied with the Sabercut.
which do you think would cut faster the pocket saw or the gerber hand saw? Also is this the going gear version or the Winchester version made by gerber?
ive used both and the pocket saw is lighter less bulky and more proficient as you get more full range of teethe. the make is unknown to me. there both good tho. also the saw in my leatherman wave is sharp...but small.

nice demo. find some small sticks to put through the loops on the ends of the saw. It makes for a better handle.

Dude give us a link on that one. Post it on the board. That appears way more effective than a wire saw.
