well if you use Raw mouse input you shouldn't have acceleration unless you set so in BF3, I have to say that accuracy % doesn't really represent how you actually aim for example if I play with AEK and I try to bring down some sniper from far it takes much more bullets than taking out someone from 10 meters ,it really depends on the maps that you play and if you manage recoil correctly (not really aiming in this case) ,most likely if you already like your current setup you wont become any better

In Win7 if you use the default mouse driver then the movement is 1:1 and you don't need to use the MarkC mouse fix. At least that's how it is for me. And I have ehanced pointer precision disabled in the mouse settings.
Rival, may I ask you, is the difference in accuracy input that much noticeable? I have an average or sightly above average overall accuracy of 20,48% (mainly with AR), and never cared enough to mess around with my game files. i do not use any fancy logiteck mouse or anything, I'm still using that same old $15 Microsoft mouse.. Hello there, i have the Logitec g5 mouse (2000 Dpi), and i downloaded the prog "Markc windows mouse Fix" and i hit the mouse movement recorder, and move my mouse and the columns was equal, but the frequency Hz was no more than 500 Hz, i see yours is more than 1000 hz do i need to do the "mouse fix" ?

Brilliant video. Since fixing the mouse + the logitech fix (I use a G9X), to get rid of acceleration (and only slightly dropping sensitivity since I don't play high sens anyway), in about a week and a half accuracy has gone up from 10.4% to 11.7%, KDR has grown over 1.235, SPM is better. MP7 Laser Deathmachine has 600 kills.

Went out and got a G500 after seeing this video, got the settings down, accuracy seems about the same, but KD is above 2.0 ever since and a SPM avrage of 800 or so (only played for 3-4 days with it) it's crazy (This is BreadHunter36)
@wrongwayup I use a huge steelseries mouse pad. Most of the higher end pads are all the same. Just make sure it is "gaming" oriented and you will be fine!

I never really needed a pad, because my desktop is covered in linoleum (or whatever it's called in English), so its hard, flat and glides quite well for mice. But recentely got a Logitech G400, and that one doesn't glide smooth enough for my taste, and it's starting to annoy the hell out of me and affect my aim.

Some nice tips to learn i your video. I have 1 question about the mouse acceleration. I am using Logitech mx518 gaming mouse along with setpoint drivers. There is an option that allows me to disable mouse pointer acceleration. I use that, should i disable it in Win 7 or there is no more need to it?
@Russian7002 it has been proven a lot of these built in "settings" do not work. Disable them all and run the test in the download.... if you have 0 mouse acceleration you are good. If you still have mouse acceleration run the program.
hey, I want to ask you a question. currently I'm using Steelseries Kinzu mouse which has inbuilt mouse acceleration, is the mouse fix going to help me in this case?
@rivaLxfactor since my mouse has inbuilt acceleration only the mouse fix you provided a link to managed to turn off acceleration off, however there's acceleration in bf3, while in some other games like Dota 2 or Star Craft there's no acceleration. I asked MarkC about the Windows cursor speed setting. He said any position other than position 6/11 will give you unwanted mouse acceleration. I found this to be true when I tested it using the DOS app you show here in part 2. Great tips though - 99% of players can benefit from lowering sensitivity.
All i have to say is what a difference on all of rivaLxfactor's tips. The graphics change in the nvidia settings is very nice now i can see correct. My mouse and aim problems are fixed as well. Bravo on these tips

that accuracy is crazy man. I never run tha MarkC fix before and the mouse recorder show the exact # on both left and right size so i guess i don't have mouse acceleration. However i don't remember turn it off either.

*Attention Logitech users* After applying this fix, make sure to uncheck 'Use OS native drivers for speed and acceleration', set speed to 5 (it's the 6th notch from the left), and acceleration to 0 for your pointer settings. After doing that I was able to get nothing but 1:1 ratios when using the mouse movement test application shown in this video.
@atticusflincher in Setpoint 6.32 for Windows 7 under Speed and Acceleration it says "Retain OS Settings". Is that the option that needs to be unchecked?
I often shoot only to supress my enemys/hit them when they peek their heads out, and because of that my accuracy is quiter bad, I think that you should look more at your k/d rate than on your accuracy

@atticusflincher I'm using Cooler Master Stom Inferno mouse and I believe that mouse does not have any presettings for bf3. When I started game without applying drivers (I need to manually start mouse program everytime after booting my PC or I may leave it without drivers) situation is the same, still mass red and green in mouse recorder...Wierd and I don't know that is going on...
So whats the verdict? Is it better to have a higher DPI setting on the mouse with a low in game sensitivity, or vice versa? I Have my DPI all the way up on my G700 at 5700dpi, but I have my in game sensitivity very low. Much lower than yours. I keep reading conflicting things on this subject. What is your experience?
@TheWhoDatWhoady I've tried that and IMO there wasn't a noticeable difference, it just made it more difficult for me to navigate the in game menus with the mouse zooming so fast!
@rivaLxfactor OK, but is that 4 or 5 inches you speak of while using ADS or not? The reason I ask is that ADS is super slow in this game compared to normal look speed unlike some other games like crysis where the speeds are the same. This fix only changes how "Enhanced pointer precision" works in Windows 7. The MouseMovementRecorder shows if it is enabled (which it isn't in battlefield)
So I watched both parts of your mouse setting videos and I noticed I play with the same dpi as you do, my pointer speed is 6 on the mouse setting, however, on bf3 I set my speed at like 75% as opposed to your 20-30%. Do you really stress playing and getting used to the sensitivity you play on, or is it mostly preference at that point?
I have a razer deathadder with it's own drivers. I have the acceleration set to zero on that, and don't notice any acceleration. Do I still need to do the registry fix? Thanks!
Can you make a video about the correct ways to be aiming/spraying. My accuracy is stuck at about 19% on rifles and 25-30% just sounds ridiculous for me to get to since I don't know what I'm doing wrong
i don't think your accuracy is necessarily indicative of your skill because it depends a lot on your playstyle. granted improving your accuracy is never a bad thing, but your accuracy does depend somewhat on what maps you like to play, what kits you like to play and how aggressively you play etc.
I searched for this on the net while ago and found this tweak. Mainly because my mouse sense was always bad after re installing windows 7. Specially on quake 3 i it would take me weeks before i got my sense straight.

you forgot to mention that the premade reg edits only work for the default 6/11 windows mouse sens. if you use different windows sens you'll need to use the included mouse fix builder
So I've also got a razer mouse, with the razer software installed, and from the software you can turn off mouse acceleration. Would running this program have any effect if I've disabled mouse acceleration with my mouse software?
Unfortunately, I'm extremely inaccurate in this game. In pretty much every other game that I've played, more notably BC2, I would average 28% accuracy on automatics, but in this game, with guns that I actually like, I'll be lucky to get 22-24%. I don't really understand why.
If you have mouse acceleration disabled in the options menu for windows 7 AND you have raw mouse input checked for BF3, why would you need to download this? Does it even actually make a difference?
Haven't downloaded it and checked it out yet, but does this program also offer a way to reset it in case I don't like the changes (I'd hate to have to rely on a system restore for that)

Do you do anything to your config? I know in like RTCW & ET you could make all kinds of tweaks to your game to make things easier... do you do anything like that?

that accuracy is crazy man. I never run tha MarkC fix before and the mouse recorder show the exact # on both left and right size so i guess i don't have mouse acceleration. However i don't remember turn it off either.

Hey since i tried this, When i spawn in i can aim in and shoot but it wont let me move my view point. just goes round in circles looking at the screen. Can anyone help?

*Attention Logitech users* After applying this fix, make sure to uncheck 'Use OS native drivers for speed and acceleration', set speed to 5 (it's the 6th notch from the left), and acceleration to 0 for your pointer settings. After doing that I was able to get nothing but 1:1 ratios when using the mouse movement test application shown in this video.

@atticusflincher in Setpoint 6.32 for Windows 7 under Speed and Acceleration it says "Retain OS Settings". Is that the option that needs to be unchecked?

I often shoot only to supress my enemys/hit them when they peek their heads out, and because of that my accuracy is quiter bad, I think that you should look more at your k/d rate than on your accuracy

I installed this fix and it works perfectly fine in Windows. but when I start BF3 and then watch this mouse movement recorder it becomes all red and green? Why? How I can fix this?

@Lucyferion what mouse are you using? sounds like the software for your mouse has a profile for BF3 and it's overriding the windows pointer settings.

@atticusflincher I'm using Cooler Master Stom Inferno mouse and I believe that mouse does not have any presettings for bf3. When I started game without applying drivers (I need to manually start mouse program everytime after booting my PC or I may leave it without drivers) situation is the same, still mass red and green in mouse recorder...Wierd and I don't know that is going on...

So whats the verdict? Is it better to have a higher DPI setting on the mouse with a low in game sensitivity, or vice versa? I Have my DPI all the way up on my G700 at 5700dpi, but I have my in game sensitivity very low. Much lower than yours. I keep reading conflicting things on this subject. What is your experience?

@TheWhoDatWhoady I've tried that and IMO there wasn't a noticeable difference, it just made it more difficult for me to navigate the in game menus with the mouse zooming so fast!

@rivaLxfactor OK, but is that 4 or 5 inches you speak of while using ADS or not? The reason I ask is that ADS is super slow in this game compared to normal look speed unlike some other games like crysis where the speeds are the same. I am one of those players who likes to ADS even in CQ. Thanks in advance.

This fix only changes how "Enhanced pointer precision" works in Windows 7. The MouseMovementRecorder shows if it is enabled (which it isn't in battlefield)

So I watched both parts of your mouse setting videos and I noticed I play with the same dpi as you do, my pointer speed is 6 on the mouse setting, however, on bf3 I set my speed at like 75% as opposed to your 20-30%. Do you really stress playing and getting used to the sensitivity you play on, or is it mostly preference at that point?

i don't think your accuracy is necessarily indicative of your skill because it depends a lot on your playstyle. granted improving your accuracy is never a bad thing, but your accuracy does depend somewhat on what maps you like to play, what kits you like to play and how aggressively you play etc.

I searched for this on the net while ago and found this tweak. Mainly because my mouse sense was always bad after re installing windows 7. Specially on quake 3 i it would take me weeks before i got my sense straight.

you forgot to mention that the premade reg edits only work for the default 6/11 windows mouse sens. if you use different windows sens you'll need to use the included mouse fix builder

So I've also got a razer mouse, with the razer software installed, and from the software you can turn off mouse acceleration. Would running this program have any effect if I've disabled mouse acceleration with my mouse software?

Unfortunately, I'm extremely inaccurate in this game. In pretty much every other game that I've played, more notably BC2, I would average 28% accuracy on automatics, but in this game, with guns that I actually like, I'll be lucky to get 22-24%. I don't really understand why.

If you have mouse acceleration disabled in the options menu for windows 7 AND you have raw mouse input checked for BF3, why would you need to download this? Does it even actually make a difference?
