Now ms4 cam/headers/polished heads/ + is doing around 580hp. And is still getting around 22 mpg. And who gives a fuck about gas. As long as the car is badass

  • I'm a chevy guy, but I was honestly expecting the integra to keep up or even get a lead on the maro. Those LT1's aren't too quick, and anything with a turbo is going to be fast or have potential to be fast. Both nice rides.

  • @need2speed94 Because when the 96-97 ws6 and ss were tested they ran 13.20-30's at 107-109 when brand new, similar to the ls1 cars.

  • @keith91z28 *every car is different. I've heard some people dyno their stock LS1 with many miles and get 320, 300, ~290... all depends on the condition of the motor. And those ET's are probably only capable with an experienced driver with a 6 speed in those. I know that my car (98 Z/28 M6) is capable of running a 13.0 at sea level with good shifting, launch, and burnout. A LOT of factors come into play. Either way, the LS1 is still superior to the LT1. Although I still like the LT1.

  • @need2speed94 Oh I know that but I have a 99 ss and had a 96 ws6 and I liked the lt1 more. The point is that good driver or not lt1's in good condition are not slow, they are only a tad bit behind an ls1 of similar shape. 95% of lt1's around are all beat to shit. I ran a 13.5 @107 in my 96 ws6, bone stock 6 speed and the mph tells you what it can run, not the time. The lt1 was ahead of its time though. I have an ls but I'm tired of ls guys shitting all over lt's. But I'm glad you like the lt's

  • @keith91z28 Yea I love em. If i ever decide to build an all out strip car ill probably pick up an LT1 and crank up the boost. Being iron they'll hold power better but since they're 2 bolt mains i might have some trouble. Definitely agree there... the Ford motor of the time (302) was very inferior. I have a buddy with a vortech blown 97 Z/28 383 stroker. Not alot of the LS1's can talk shit about him hah. he's pretty quick. He run a best of 10.78 I believe. It's a hell of a motor.

  • @need2speed94 Nice, reason being that I defend lt's, I built with the help of a friend, a 396 ati procharged 96 trans am. 10lbs of boost strapped to a th350, really regret selling it. In good shape theyre fun to drive with that quick torque curve. Never got the chance to run mine though. I was lucky to have found a shortblock out of a 95 corvette so I got a 4 bolt main. Your friends motor sounds badass.

  • @keith91z28 Damn :/ I'd hate to let that go.. Hell that sounds like a low 10's car with good tires. My buddy ran that 10.78 with a 6 speed. It is pretty badass but he has trouble with belt slip since its a centri blower. That's why I'm deciding to go with a turbo if I ever boost a car.

With some traction issues I ran side by side with a friends 68 camaro that was in the 10.60-10.70 area, so I figured with traction I could be a bit quicker, never had it dynoed. I was running the lloyd elliot top end. Yea my belt would get a bit of slip around 62-6500 rpm. Yea turbo is the way to go unless you run a roots blower. I have seen some turbo lt1's, wow, badass cars, the factory lt intake loves boost.

  • @keith91z28 Yea turbo's and V8s are perfect. You may get the turbo lag still, but having the low end of a V8 helps alot to keep your powerband nice and even instead of really peaky like all those 4/6 cyls. running a HUGE turbo and 30+ psi. hah. Why did you have to sell it?

I was working a lot out of town so never got the chance to use it, then had family and gf issues and just didnt have time for it so I sold it on CL so that someone could actually use it. Yea us v8's can run 5 lbs of boost and still haul ass and like you said, whats turbo lag when you have torque lol.

I have seen honda civics beat corvettes, lancer evo being beaten by a vw jetta, supras being beat by camaros or vw..

I can get a used 996 turbo for 50 grand. thats 20k more so we're good there. 996 carrera for 25 grand, thats 5k less, still good. B5 S4 for 8 grand so thats 22 grand less. 02 S6 wagon for 12 grand so thats 18k less. Do I need to list more?

  • @bstal247 Actually, the M3 RAPES the Mustang in handling. The Mustang accelerates faster so that is why it posts fast lap times. If youd listen to the comments the driver of the M3 said its much more refined and very easy to control. The Mustang is a small car with a big engine. Its also .8 liters larger and puts out the same hp. Its sad the Mustang which has 120 more hp puts up the same 0-60 as the Evo 10. The Evo 10 will also out handle the mustang. Youre the one making yourself look dumb

  • @bstal247 with the fq400 package actually the evo x outperforms the mustang in every department although it isnt available yet in america. and the m3 has slower track times than an evo which can keep up with a 911 turbo and just but tuning the ecu with no actual bolt ons you can get a evo x to easily outrun a mustang

  • The LT1 is a suped up motor for one.its the same motor they used for the vette. Try a stock 350 with headers and ur after market parts and you will lose.

Also the 2002 Chevrolet Corvette (Lingenfelter 427 Twin Turbo) does 0-60 in 1.97, and it doesnt need to run at 41 psi to do that like the bishimoto does. Also while i'm on the subject of that "Civic" you do realize that it is no longer a japanese honda anymore right??? complete frame rebuild aftermarket, NON-honda ECU, gutted and forged internals,

  • America has been making fast cars since the 1960's (1965 shelby cobra 0-60 3.8 seconds) japan has finally managed to catch up and even now they are being out classes by European cars (TVR, MERC, BMW, PORSCHE) and American cars (CHEVY, SSC, FORD, DODGE). japanese cars are nice the things nissan can do with a couple big turbo's and a straight 6 are amazing but remember there is a reason Dragsters are V8s.

  • @MrTachi01 used a vtec???? Vtec or VVT is just the opening of the valves in WOP for power and closing them when not in WOP to increase fuel economy. All the V8's in NASCAR are hand crafted and stripped down and rebuilt after every race so I do not know much on the specifics other then they are N/A Big Block V8's. There would be no point to even have VVT installed in a NASCAR car since they are always in WOP and have no need to worry about Fuel Econ.

  • @24DILLIGAF when talking about Nascar engines that in no way shape or form need to worry about MPG or functioning at anything other than WOT (I notice that i kept writing WOP instead of WOT lol) they do not need such a complex system like VVT when it would not benifit them performance wise, the engines wouldn't gain anypower from it and seeing as most Nascar engines are concerned more with power then concerving it until WOT then VVT would be useless

  • @insatiableTy VVT isn't used to help fuel economy. its used to add power at higher rpms while still maintaining power at lower rpms. it isn't controlled by WOT either, its either controlled electronically (computer controlled) or mechanically (oil pressure). when an engine with VVT reaches a certain rpm (hondas usually have it around 5500rpm) the camshafts will switch to a more aggresive set of lobes which increase lift and duration of the valves giving the engine more power at higher rpms.

  • damn that integra is weak sauce my ls with bolt ons and a minor build (n/a) beat a z28 but then i again i know how to shift(aka i was powershifting the hell out of my car) cause i was dropping in a gsr trani and a stage 2 clutch anyways. i can almost gauruntee this was a high milage ls with a shitty ebay turbo kit that never got properly tuned

  • @yourmomluvsmyhonda your teggy at BEST has a 0-60 of 6.1 (stock 2000 type-R JDM) an LT1 Z/28's 0-60 was at BEST 5.5 (stock 1993 z/28), a Camaro SS LT4 does 0-60 in 4.8 (stock 1997 SS LT4) and MY Z/28 does 0-60 in 5.1 (STOCK 1998 Z/28 with the LS1) your little teggy couldn't beat any of these Z/28's without some serious mods on your car and a stock Z/28 as the other car. Now you MAYBE could beat a stock 1985 I-ROC-Z/28 since its 0-60 is 6.9 but don't kid yourself that 4banger ain't shit to a Z28

  • @insatiableTy are you smoking crack man thats a bone stock integra u dummy, mine has cold air intake full headers cat delete and a ctaback exhaust system high quality racing spark plugs/wires, and a port and polished head not to mention it has wieght reduction (removing back seats usually just during the weekend and spare tire as well) not to mention its riding on yokohama avid's and has a stage 2 clutch its no where near as fast as my ls/vtec turbo i had a while back but its fun and fast

LMAO!!!! even with everything you listed you may have shaved .5 seconds off your launch and since vtec kicks in at 5k RPM's you don't even get into your powerband until 2nd gear near redline. lol I've owned 2 ludes and a celica GT-S trust me buckwheat i know just how far those basic bolt ons take you and like i said before, it isn't that far.

Your arguement you just made is valid to a point but you keep overlooking all the facts America and Europe make the best track cars, American muscle is better at a drag strip than almost anything else and FWD will never out perform RWD (track, drift, drag it doesnt matter)

The LT1 has high compression stock as it is, not much more power you're getting out of higher compression pistons. Now after all that, I 100% believe the mods he listed cause I had his exact mods when I raced a similar teg but wasn't boosted, and I put about a county length on him by the time I hit 100 from a 30 roll.

  • The integra on 9 PSI is a turd. Weighs too much, plus it was probly a non-vtec LS motor. Buddies integra made 300whp on a vtec motor on 10lbs an went 12.0@116. So this car is MAYBE putting down 260whp

  • @choyleefutkid1 oh its turbo,,, I raced an exact teg just not turbo'd and was bolt on only and I had same mods on my old 95 TA as this camaro except I had 3.73' gear as well. and I put like 2 or 3 bus links on the kid. Yet he swore he'd at least hang at my door before the race lol...... I kept telling him it wouldn't be a fair fight, but he kept insisting so I gave him his ass whippin and went about my business.

  • I am really thinking the turbo, tune or driver maybe all of them lol I've seen ls turbo's go over 300whp stock internals so even then it should still take a lt1 from a roll I can half gas an ls turbo and still pull that 1 off

  • geez honda fanboys give it a break.  A sohc boosted, or B18 boosted is not going to touch a LT1 with bolt ons, period. Now a B18C1 or C5 would not get worked as bad.

  • @DcEvoIX Integra was either un-tuned, on a shitty tune or dude just couldn't drive. Hell my old SOHC Vtec turbo wasted bolt on LS1's all day....that Integra had some issues.

  • @maxredgizmo man I highly doubt your SOHC dumped on LS1's with bolt ons. I had a D16Y8 supercharged, really was not all that great. sounded cool, but definitely lacked HP still.
