It is indeed possible to do it in Halo 1 Pc and Ce.

You also need 2 persons, and i think at least 4 different weapons, what you do then is simply switching weapons by standing VERY CLOSE TOGETHER (make sure you don't have same weapons) until you get the effect (the arms chnage their position depending on the weapons).

I even have 2 screenshots of it.
