  • close grip[12-16 inches] bottom psotion bench with a watson 3 inch dia. bar-5x5 with a 3 second pause on each rep,weighted dips-5x5.simple,brutal,effecti­ve.

  • Why do I never feel the next morning ache in my tri's anymore?? i've tried adding in supersets, circuits, increasing weight, shortening rest time but my tri's seem to never feel kicked up the arse! help!?

  • @ImForCoffee it could be that they are conditioned to the point where they just don't get sore anymore. I've been to that point. It kinda sucks because that sore feeling is kind of a reward lol

  • @itskpmofo Defiitely man, I love the next morning ache, feels like i've actually trained! without it I feel like I have failed -.- they ache sometimes, but not all the time, it might be that im eating more and eating more protein now so they repair a little faster taking the OOMF off of the pain? ache or not, will I still grow even if I can't feel it the morning after?

  • @itskpmofo yes you'll definitely still grow, especially if you're eating more protein. if you're only training them once per week, perhaps you could try training them twice since you recover faster.

  • a tip for the second exercise, when you've tipped off the weight, pump out a couple more reps :D

  • can i do the reverse pulldowns with the EZ bar..with the straight bar as well? coz in my gym they dont have a ez bar on the cable machine!? :S

  • @aidfrombosna Without the EZ bar, your range of motion will be a little restricted, which means you won't be able to exercise the muscle in the same way (unless you have very flexible wrists), which means you won't gain as much from the exercise. You can still do it, but not as well.

  • @aidfrombosna You could probably still do the exercise, but you will be a bit uncomfortable at the start of the rep (when your elbows are bent). Depending on how big you are, and how much weight you want to use, though. If you are going to try a maximum effort (eg, as much weight as you can do) then I would say skip this exercise.

    Dumbell kickbacks (also called tricep kickbacks) are a similar movement, but it won't be isolating the tricep for the whole rep (which may not be a bad thing).

  • imo, triceps are difficult to isolate correctly. make sure you use light enough weights to get your form down. if you don't you will end up training other muscle groups rather than ISOLATING the triceps. which is one problem I had with Scott's demonstration, he was leaning into the tricep pulldown, which is where a lot o guys will use their shoulders and chest to help them cheat on the reps.

    If you wanna get triceps like Scott, be extra careful with your form.

  • @phili878 You just ask someone in the gym to spot you, haha. Some guys may seem tough and intimidating but they'll more than likely be glad to lend a spot. I've never turned down a spot request and never been turned down. Just go up to someone and ask "Hey can you lend me a spot?" If they say no, you've lost nothing.

  • @ReimTime76 rope will actually work much better. it hits all 3 heads of the tricep muscle but a v bar is much easier to use heavier weight and put mass on

For an added once you reach the downward limit of your range of motion take the two ends of the rope and separate them horizontally (without lowing the rope). In essence, you want to pull the ends of the rope in opposite directions, with the weight pulling in a third direction.
