  • Every single horse on earth is wonderful!!!!!

  • my Fav race horse she was. so sad that she died she will be missed and loved forever. RIP sweet one.

  • It was so sad Eight Belles died, she was a magnificent filly, but it wasn't Big Brown's fault. I don't understand why he hasn't had the accolades he deserves, he is also a wonderful horse.

  • even after awhile this is still my favorite tribute to my derby pick belles.i love how you show her races won.we will never know how things would have worked out even if she ran in the oaks..there was another big hearted filly by the name of proud spell to contend with..belles did beat 18 other males in the derby..not a small feat.

  • She is an incredible filly. :) Who knows what great foals she could of produced?

  • who will die at the derby this year? =(

  • If history repeats itself, a horse wont die until 2142.

Eight Belles was the first horse every to die in the Derby.

  • this is my fav of the belles tributes..thank you for showing her victories and what a beautiful graceful horse that she was..can't get her out of my head.getting to be that time of year again..i will never forget her ..thank you

  • hey i got my opinions i couldn't watch the race i had to be somewhere all i got was the highlights and i rarely get to watch the telivision and i wasn't in kentucky sorry for me being an artist and a middle school student so yeah i'm not so good in the race horse industry but i am only 13 i'm smart in equine not racing and being horse smart and to like horses form where i live is rare and to at least ride a horse at walking pace just the same so understand i am no good in throughbreds

  • that beuatiful horse i dedicated a masterpiece to her and i am an artist not offically yet though she didn't deserve her fate Big Brown is terrible that old lazy cob they she did win fair and square it wasn't her fault they were driving her to hard she was racing with her heart that's all that matters but it wasn't enough for them i belive when she died Man o' War, War Admiral, Ruffian, Seabisuit, the Godolphin all them others were wating to welcome her home i shan't forget that filly

  • Big Brown is a terrible, lazy cob? The horse?

How did SHE win fair and square? She didn't win. Big Brown did. Obviously showing that even being a lazy terrible cob, was still faster than Eight Belles

  • Eight Belles can win any race, you go Eight Belles!

  • If she had lived, she should have run in the Classic, she could have easily placed! She was amazing! The next Lady's Secret is what I think she would have become. She tried so hard with every race! She had the biggest heart! We love you Belles!

  • I wish she would have won. Atleast she would be in heaven with one last victory. I'm sure Ruffian and Barbaro are happy to be with her. Maybe Shergar is too. Rest In Peace girl.

  • wow that was a really good video :)

  • she was so pretty....

  • what a heart she had.

    rip gorgeous girl.

  • this video really showed that she put her all and her heart into every race and it was something that she loved to do! RIP

  • wow, great video

Eight Belles was truly the belle of the Derby, she showed us her spped, she showed us her life. She ran her heart out, now she's romping with Barbaro and Ruffian in horse heaven

  • Thank you so much Carly! I was there and it was so depressing. Just to let everyone know, she was a happy filly on the track before the race and in the paddock. Her ears were pricked and she was looking curiously at the crowd. What a beautiful girl she was. R.I.P. Belle.

  • I keep hearing that they shouldn't race fillies against the boys...well Eight Belles was good enough to beat 18 of them, she had every right to be there and she was bigger than most of them. Remember Rags to Riches who beat all of them in the Belmont...I'm so proud of her. Now she's running w/Ruffian...Wonderful job Carly...as usual

  • So, so sad. She beat 18 boys in The Derby, bless her. What a trooper. Like Ruffian, I'm sorry we won't get the chance to see just how good she could have been. RIP, beautiful girl.

  • NBC's Today Show interviewed the vet and Larry Jones this morning about Eight Belles. I have the video if anyone missed it.

  • Beautiful. Great Job Carly! Rest in Peace dear Eight Belles...

  • This is the best memorial video I have seen. I searched high and low for the music you used for this, the "Love Theme from Ben Hur". I can't find it anywhere. Maybe if you're feeling generous, you could send me the Mp3, or help me locate the same piece you used! It's such a moving song, and was so appropriate for this tribute. Thankyou for sharing it with us!

  • I got it on iTunes.

  • At least she is at peace and not in any pain, I will miss her soooo much, she was a amazing filly

  • This is amazing. Thank you for making this. What a sad weekend. Frank Whiteley, Eight Belles and Chelokee got hurt too :(

  • ya it was really sad... it was just announced though that Chelokee dislokaded his ankle and they put it back in place so hes okay

thank you for making this video i miss her already :(

  • This has been a sad weekend for horseracing. We lost Eight Belles--one phenominal filly. Frank Whiteley passed on, too.

  • Thank you, Carly. Another lovely tribute. She was amazing, and she certainly held her own against the phenomenal Big Brown. She was the only one who came close to catching him in the stretch, what a fantastic, beautiful filly. We lost another great one yesterday, may she rest in peace. She's racing in heaven with Winning Colors, Barbaro and the rest of the greats today.

  • What a roller coaster for her whole team. One minute they're cheering her to a solid second place, and 30 seconds later she's down, and minutes later she's gone forever. My heart goes out to them, we've experienced a tragedy much like this at our ranch.

    Rest In Peace Eight Belles

  • I can't believe that, I didn't even think she belonged in the Derby. I thought she would fail and embarrass herself, I was so shocked to see her really make Big Brown run on. I was so excited to see that she had proven me wrong, I thought she was more exciting then Big Brown, and then THAT happened. so sad, I'm starting to really not like racing anymore.

  • It does seem to suck the fun out of it doesn't it. My family and I just deflated when we saw a horse was down. And then to hear it was Eight Belles, the only filly and second place finisher... When we heard they had to euthanize her we were all about to cry.

  • Wonderful filly. It's a shame.

  • what a wonderful filly. May she be remembered for her fantastic races and her amazing 2nd place finish in the Derby.

  • aww that was sad and good

  • Thank you for this Carly, you always pick fantastic music for your videos!

I loved her so much, followed her for a long time, I was thrilled when she came second, fifth filly ever to finish 2nd or better, ugh watching her fall was horrible, I miss her so much xP RIP Eight Belles.

  • she was the best!!pure heart! thank you for the video

  • That is a really nice video. She was an amazing race horse.

  • Excellent video. You coordinate super music perfectly with film footage.

Yesterday was a very sad day. A beautiful, gutsy, superior horse broken. Full of life and run one minute, and dead the next. Food for thought.

  • beautiful carly, just beautiful! RIP Eight Belles

  • i watched it yesterday and i was really happy she got second and big brown got third but i never knew what would happen and i saw this horse on the ground and didnt know who it was..and they said belles and then they said she couldnt be saved i left the room and went balling!!!

  • I was there Carly. She ran one hell of a game race. No one was gonna touch Big Brown yesterday but she was truly the best of the rest!

    RIP Eight Belles.

  • Best one I've watched yet. Thank-you Carly. It is a perfect tribute for her. She will be missed. "Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure." RIP sweet girl.
