You can do it by holding a slide and building up a mini turbo, but it's much more difficult.

OK. Anyways, I tried this shortcut out and found that you could do this shortcut from a larger angle than when you did at that video, though I had to aim a little to the right of the middle of that block to get across without messing up in the process.
