I think is the worst metal slug, I dont know why, maybe is too short(5 levesl), maybe some levels are soooo easy, and this "boss" WTF !!! and where is the soldiers of the past MS, and what are that masked things ? hehehe

This is my favorite final boss in all of the metal slugs! When I got to this guy, I kept saying, "Okay, what will I fight this time? A robot? An alien? A giant war machine?"

And then the sky got pitch black, the sound went quiet. "What's going on?"

Then, a flash of light, I saw the shadow of his figure. "W-what's that?"

Then he fully appeared and the music started and I screamed, "Holy crap! It's freaking DEMON?!?!?! And I actually have to fight that thing?!"

@AndyMaster007 you need WinKawaks 1.59 and u need to look for mslug5.zip on a website called 4shared.com so you dont unzip mslug5.zip and pit it on the roms folder of winkawaks after extracting winkawaks 1.59. then select file>load game>Metal Slug 5 and there

This battle (for me) was the best in the Metal Slug saga

I was playing with my rival, we reach the final battle, we were scared to see how the final boss looked like, we thought that this would be the last Metal Slug in series and I put Pause the game and we looked, we stopped and made a stance soldiers telling us, "It was an honor to have fought on your side."

We won the battle and we scream:"THIS WAS EPIC!".

Metal Slug 5 was an unfinished game. If you look at the information on the cartridge, there are tons of unused sprites and the game, overall, feels incomplete (especially since it had cutscenes near the beginning then just stopped having them... then this huge boss comes out of nowhere). The boss was likely meant to explode (or something "epic" was meant to happen), but it was rushed to be put into arcades and we were left with this awkward, confusing ending.

I personally think this is a TERRIBLE final boss for a video game. His attack pattern only has 2 parts, the second part is a massive beginner's trap, and he's a Giant Space Flea From Nowhere

It's not THAT hard; the balls have no pattern, but the method of dodging them is relatively simple. And "Giant Space Flea From Nowhere" is a term used to describe bosses who look totally out of place compared to the rest of the game and have very little explanation for even being in the story. And yes, Scyther (this boss) is probably a devil summoned by the cult seen in the post-level-1 cutscene

The coolest thing about this end boss is that it's never really revealed in the game's narrative what it is, only that the Ptolemaic cult was preparing for its arrival.  It's most likely a demon of some sort or maybe their god. Metal Slug usually dealt with earth armies and aliens so a powerful demon is a cool change of pace.
