He's playing a classic American made Strat from the early 60's. Tone doesn't get any better! oh and i would argue about you thinking he's terrible but you're clearly delusional. He's amazing, the only thing you could see wrong with that performance is that his falsetto was a little bit weak that night so he was flat on one high note. We don't need any more autotuned pitch perfect Jonas Brothers. I hope your taste matures.

the 'very hard' did refer to the vocals. I don't think anybody can claim singing this song is easy. And he is a very good guitarist. Playing these chords is nothing more than a couple of hours practise (the chords to this song aren't the real basics), but playing them perfectly does require a bit more time. The last phrase of my comment was meant generally though.
