So question for those who've played--I found Ys 6 for PSP nigh-unplayable due to ridiculous loading times and "the dreaded PSP control stick"...does this one employ similar easily-missable jumps that chain into 15 second loading screens? I gave up on Ys 6 due to an area rife with that issue...

I didn't even try finishing Ys 6 on PSP after playing it for half an hour.

Ys 7 is a very good game, don't miss it !

@girianshiido I haven't played Ys VI in a WHILE (I sold it about 2 years ago since I beat it about 4 or so times, but I might rebuy it again some day), but I know that the ps2 version is MUCH better. Virtually no load times, there's voice acting, much better looking CG cutscenes, much better graphics, etc.

For those who don't know, check XSEED's newest news. Nihon Falcom and XSEED are teaming to bring Ys 7 and Sora no Kiseki trilogy to the US. You can expect the official announcement about Ys 7 sometime late this summer. They'll do Ys 7 first then work on Legend of Heroes: Sora no Kiseki.

@tokinblckgie Xseed just announced last friday that Nihon Falcom and them made a deal so later this summer we can expect an official announcement about Ys 7 being released in the US. The also includes them bringing over the Legend of Heroes: Sora no Kiseki trilogy over as well after they finish with Ys 7

I just finished this game yesterday, and It was great. this is MUCH better then Ys VI: AoN.

While THIS version isn't better then YsF, I feel that when the PC version comes out, That it will be.

And YES, there will be multiple versions of this game and falcom has said that each version would be different in some way.

In my opinion, it is very easy. You can check the Ancient Land of Ys message board if you have more questions.

yes it is. the game is user friendly enough to tell you where your next destination is. equipment tracking is also easy to understand for the most part. accessories that don't have any visible stat effects are a little tricky. if you don't know japanese, you won't know the story. Not saying you won't get a basic Idea of whats happening, but you won't know all the ins and outs, not to mention not being able to do any of the sidequests.

PSP's aren't region free, however ALL asian PSP Games Are, so you can Import this and play on an American PSP

I feel little disappoint. When 6, Oath or Origin came out I feel "OMG, gotta get this game ASAP" but anyway it's great to have a new battle system, hope it still rocks!!

I'm not finished with the game yet, but so far it's much better than Ys VI imo. And the battle system is well thought even if it's not the same system we're used to. Let me finish it and I'll tell you if it's better than YsF :)

I dont think an english patch will be forthcoming until this game sees a pc release, unless some other rabid Ys fans decide that they want to patch a umd iso cause the persons who did the felghana and origin patch has no interest in the psp version of this

I'm liking what I hear in the music so far. I'm still somewhat undecided on the new art style. I just get a different feel from the characters from it. Some spots, Adol looks almost like a different person wearing the same outfit and others looks normal. Dogi... Well, I just get a different "vibe" from the character artwork.

Minor nitpicks aside, I'm sure the game is gonna be amazing. I think I'm finally gonna have to get a PSP.

It does have that Koshiro vibe, doesn't it? But despite Koshiro's resurgence in the world of VGM (Etrian Odyssey, 7th Dragon), I doubt Falcom is letting go of their new star, Yukihiro Jindo. And this also sounds like Jindo to me. Nothing's confirmed yet, but if it were Koshiro, I think Koshiro himself would have disclosed that information by now. But I could be wrong, and a part of me certainly hopes I'm wrong!
