  • Why not use DDWRT?

  • on ebay for 25$

  • @juiceboxkilla Go for it! That's a great deal.

  • It would be a nice piece of hardware if it would work like advertised. Instead it's half piece of nice hardware, half piece of sh*t. It has a horrible client support.

For the same value I could've bought a better one.

  • @flunitrazepam Have you updated to the latest firmware? It seems pretty stable, but SSH is not working properly.

• @thetechzonelive Yes I have. I'm always on the watch for new developments by the firmware team. The problem is not the stability. My main problem is that the 3G dongle doesn't work with USB hub, and there for, all the printer/hard drive sharing options are not available to me. So, it doesn't behave like a "80€ worth" router at all.

  • Big piece of bullshit. Buggy firmware and and they promised a mediaserver 3 years ago. There is a selfemade mediaserver form a user, but they banned him.

DD-WRT is not working on the 2n.

    Don't buy this device!!!

  • @Usenett If you need a router with DD-WRT comparability, check the supported hardware before purchase.

  • @thetechzonelive i was not looking for a dd-wrt router. but your last answer was, that it is possibble to flash dd-wrt on it.

i just wanted to say that this router has no support by fon.com. They just sell it.

  • @Usenett I had an issue with one and it was replaced within a week. Their support is stellar.

  • @thetechzonelive kreten! DD-WRT was just another "feature" that doesn't work on this router. Other things that @Usenett mentioned, you won't even comment, you don't even dare right!!?! :P

  • @t00dyka It's not a feature... If you need a router with OpenWRT or DD-WRT compatibility, check the list before purchase.

  • Fonera is a good idea... but after buying it, you are left alone by Fon. They don't update there buggy firmwares, so before buying it, be careful!

  • nice thx for the info
