lol I also did this walk all the way from the bottom and i do mean all the way from the bottom (Fujiyoshida trainstation walking up to the point you drove to xD)

way down was easier as i slipped and fell rolling for quit some while xD lucky only some minor skindamage

i came down w/ altitude sickness after a couple hour's sleep at station 8. just imagine climing to the top with a hangover. it was terrible! and that's not including all the vomiting on the way down.

We did Fuji-san back in '89. Had to hoof it to make it to the top torii gate by the turnaround time (well, close to it). Finished a touch after dark with a huge bruise on my butt. Funny how darkness affects depth perception...Still have my stick!

The people are sleeping as many people like to watch the sunrise from the peak. Some also sleep there so they can adjust to the altitude change, some get altitude sickness if they go too fast. You need footwear with better ankle support, maybe buy some hiking boots for next time?

I've climbed it once and it wasn't fun - that's a big ask to do in a day, especially right from the bottom. Did you get any altitude sickness afterwards. I had headaches for days! Hope your ankle's better.
