Not to be critical, but I'd thought I'd mention something. This might not make sense to you, but it works if you can time it right. There's a trick you can use to stay in the air longer when you jump. Before you had died, if you had pressed start twice, Mega Man would have landed in the air, giving you extra momentum to work with. It would have saved you from death. Thought I'd point that out. :)

The Lag may be caused by Programms running in the Background, which needs a Lot of Memory. To fix this, just Increase the Recording Programm Priority ;)
