Douglas Holtz-Eakin, a former Director of the Congressional Budget Office and current chief McCain economic advisor says,"youre going to have to raise taxes whether youre a Republican, a Democrat or a Martian". But the McCain campaign campaign isnt taking his advice and he isnt speaking out in public about that because Its the brand and you dont dilute the brand.
The stakes for wealthy Republicans are very high in this election, so they are not wasting any effort on running an honest campaign. McCain is not simply lying about Obama's tax cuts; he's trying to avoid talking about the basic unfairness of the tax system that the McCain/Bush tax policies would perpetuate. Obama not only cuts taxes for most Americans; he does it in a way that starts to reverse the serious unfairness that has been built into the tax system since Ronald Reagan.
Are you saying the economy is tied to how much the government increases taxes? The more the better?!? It's a load of crap. The first recession started in 2000 while Clinton was in office. The second one was caused by the housing market and ethanol fiascoes and rising fuel prices.
Typical revisionist history. The economy grew throughout Clinton's entire Presidency. The economy responds to the balance of the budget. Taxes are insignificant. There is substantial credit risk built into the US economy at this level of debt. You know nothing about economics.
He's just going to do what every Republican President does: Talk like he's tough on Government spending but allow big spending to go on anyway while not accepting any kind of tax increase even if it's on rich people. We'll just end up in more debt like under Reagan and Dubya.
Stupid is as stupid does. More of the same with Mr McCain.

Somethign needs to be made clear:
YOU will get abigger tax cut from Obama than from McCain.
Anybody making $112k or less, will get a better tax cut from Obama.
Tax Policy Center and CNN published this, and McCain did not DISPUTE IT. If it was inaccurate, he would have disputed it. he didn't. It's true.
Want a small tax cut? Vote McCain
Want a big tax cut? Vote Obama

"I want to cut the out of control spending" John McCain
"I want to keep spending $500 million A DAY in Iraq for 100 years". John McCain
Straight talk.

Bill Clinton raised taxes and the Republicans screamed that the economy would be destroyed. The economy soared and the budget was balnced.
George Bush slashed taxes and the Republicans promised the budget would remain balanced. $500 billion deficits and two recessions.
McCain promises to slash taxes again and the Republicans promise the budget will be balanced.
Don't Republicans ever tire of being wrong.

To those who think Mccain is going to cut taxes: Where is he going to get the money to pay for 100 years in Iraq?
