  • There is a difference between the ILs and Vor freq. isnt there?. Im confused

  • @1216saab It's the same, there isn't a difference.

  • lil word of advice.. try not to make it so obvious that you're reading a script lolol gj on the video man this really helps

  • nice video m8!

  • Awesome man!

  • my friend this was an awesome video, i really do appreciate your help.

  • VOR doesn't make sense.

  • Thanks dude! This video is making alot of this clear to me!

  • What kind Of Boeing Plane Number type ex 707 717 727 737 747 757 777 787 Dream Liner

  • @logicbam He clearly said in the beginning of the video he uses a Boeing 737-800.

  • This was really helpful, thanks! I learned today how to use autopilot through GPS by setting a flight plan, but not how you showed and not how to use the radio stations. Thanks again!

  • so, which one is easier, VOR or GPS

  • how do you know that you are at the north of the Seattle ?

  • then what happens when the vor has been set in the nav1

  • can u explain once again the course to VOR,, i dont really get it clear

  • Comment removed

  • Great tutorial thanks

  • how do u setup the nav on the gps

  • i couldn't find the mouse on your video

  • Well there's something you might not have noticed, but on higher altitudes, you must be carefull with the Vertical Speed. If you set it too high and you are on high altitude, your plane will stall! On higher altitudes, you must set your VS low.

  • why when i low the flap, i can't banking

  • when i fly the plane...the plane will dive down although i already pitch up the plane

  • Thank bro! This video have helped me alot! Suscribe + Liked!

  • Thanks it really helped me :)

  • Nice explanation of the VOR. Thanks.

  • Hi DNthenumber10, how do I do this on the default 747?

  • Thanks your awesome!

  • Your voice sounds like the actual aircraft pilots

  • how did you get the little bar where you can bring up your GPS and other stuff ???

  • omg, i set Vertical speed to 1500f/min and climb from 4000f to 12000f and my autopilot started to put my plane under over bank angel and then it stalled, i lost 5000f within less than 30sec and crashed. any idea what i did wrong, btw my plane was bombardier crj-700

  • Im so confused, if you have autopilot on GPS, do you just ignore messages from ATC????? Plus, I really need help with my landings but dont know how to work the autopilot! Help someone

  • well i wanted to know a few things about the boeing 737.Basically, i am facing issues with controlling my aircraft speed in the air(when i am not on autopilot).I can still control it while ascending but when i wish to land it just increases drastically and even after switching the throttle to minimum, I can't control it..eg.if i am flying at 3000 feet at 250 knots and suppose i wish to bring it to 1000 feet...how should i decrease my speed say to 150 knots when not on auto pilot??

  • what airplane is it?

  • @pikemanzau 737-800

  • Thank you for this tutorial.

Note to other users, be very careful with the vertical speed when using AirBuses I have gone over 1500 f/min and I have stalled and flipped the plane almost everytime.

  • Hello!, when i set altitude and vert speed on, the plane is decending very much. Please help i really want help! :)

  • @MrPorcha what is your problem exactly ? normal sink/climbrate for a jet is about 1500 to 1800 fpm...

  • @chromekumpel I have the problem, i set the altitude to 5000+ and vertical speed to 1800+.

After activation the plane i sinking, and i never have the problem before :O... please help :(!

  • @MrPorcha sorry, for the stupid question, but did you switched the autopilot on ?

  • I was in a airbus A320 during landing once, and there is only one thing that I wonder about the A/P in FSX, and that's how to make the airplane adjusts it's descent rate automaticly when it has the throttles at idle, and wants to hold a certain speed. You have that possibility in Wilco's 737 pilot in command, and in real commercial airlines. Does this exist in the default 737/747 in FSX?

  • @Larsnero14 I think so, if you switched auto throttle on, it holds the speed, but never expect sth. from the AP which YOU cannot do or wouldn't do, so does it make any sens to hold the speed if engines are idle ?

  • r u from seattle.

  • do i have to take off autopilot when landing?

  • Comment removed

  • thanks for ur efforts, this will help many get to a stage within weeks what took me months. keep it up and do more if u can...

  • why 180? south? where did you make that up from?

  • 8:23 To your information: Thats not the inner, or...sort of. But I would say... ahh forget it.

  • I am a pro pilot/ATC in real life (To you guys that didnt think itwas possible to be both ATC and a pilot in real life: Guess one more time) so this was not so very inteesting to me. But very good tutorial for beginners.

  • @ChainChomp2 thanks I got it 4 Xmas and I have got that on all the beas

  • thanks this really helpet

  • Awesome tutorial

  • Can someone please tell me how dnthenumber10 got his plane to be slightly c through

  • @XxIgOtUxX099 Go to your display options under the "Aircraft" tab and change the 2D panel transparency.

  • my altimeter is fucked up :S

  • @alan517815

press B in the game :)

  • @Przemek0011 didnt help -,- i already tried that

  • @alan517815

    Press B :)

  • Dude Can You Give Me Your Id I Have Alot of Questions Abt FS9 Plz Any Id Yahoo Or Hotmail Or Gmail

  • thnk u for uploading this video, but my question is, why does my aircraft nose points upward by 10 degree at cruising altitude? it doesnt cruise at a stable position. Can u please help me on it...thnk u,

  • You've taught me a lot in 15 minutes. Thanks for uploading these ILS tutorials!

  • when you make a flight plan and stuff, how do you know to what the altitude or airspeed should be set too?

  • good video!

    thanks!

  • Tutorial NU. 1

    and the best EVER

    thx bro

  • Again part 2 of my first comment:

Example is proven for Boeing 737-800 and works for all models I've tested (with different speeds of course). If you want you also can preset your airspeed and activate autothrottle and speed hold after being off ground.

Last but not least big thx for your tutorials, it helped me a lot understanding and using ILS approach from GPS mode.

  • Oops, my second post should have started with "Example is proven...". Editing didn't work out too well...

  • @DNthenumber10: yes, you can use the autopilot for taking off. Try it like this: while grounded set autopilot off, choose altitude as needed for final climb e.g. 12000 and set ALT hold on. • Thanks this helped my flying in fsx alot :D

  • what happens if u turn the autopilot on before you take off will it take off for you and land aswell?

  • @narutojose2 No, if you activate the autopilot before you take off, it will mess up your trim and put you in a very bad situation.

  • @narutojose2 Yup. It will take you off, but by then, you probably have "taxiing" for triple as long the runway is But, you vill not manage toget in air and staythere for more than a few seconds. And as DNthenumber10 said: Your trim will be messed up, and then its good night birdie, or in this case; good night planie.

  • wait i see ppl having other creations on there plane how do i do that (virgin southwest airlins e.c.t.)

  • Is it necessary to use NAV?

  • @TheDokaDoka The NAV is necessary if you want to travel to a VOR station or travel along your GPS route.

  • i dont get the tool tips when i hover on the buttons. anyone know why?

  • @tom1161 if the plane is moving under the mouse the tool tip won't show up

if u move the mouse again the same

press pause where everything is still

if the tool tip doesn't show go check on ur settings

  • what kind of plane is this

  • @davidatful This is the default 737 in Orbit colors.

  • would you please make a vid for the f/a18?

  • Very Nice Video Exellent! Very helpfull thanks dude! hey a question qhen you typed in KSEA in the GPS how did you write that did you type normally from the keyboard i cant do that plz help!

  • Hey DN i have one question i dont get the vor route with the 360 likes do i pick the oppisite dirrection that is on the other side of the airport so if i was west i would go east? how do you know witch line to pick?

  • Thank you very very much . I'm a beginner and this was very very helpful thanks a lot dude.

  • You're probably in virtual cockpit mode. Pressing shift 3 brings up the gps map.

  • hey man... i got a question.. its kinda stupid but in my boing 737-800 i cant find the map like u do.. i cant find those squares. help please?

  • DN.... did you use the auto rudder aor not...

    and whitch one better

  • hihihih love hes nerdo voice but good system =)

  • i got problems with headings

  • Ty man, Very good detail on the Course

  • ty so much! i recently bought a 737 from wilco and i had trouble finding the GPS/NAV button and just found out it doesnt exist. i usually used to fly with default planes and i always use the GPS to fly around. Thanks to you now i can fly to any airport using the nav and course!!!

  • Hey. I dont understand how do you know the Course of the airport. How do you know its north from you? (to put 180). Also, how do you approuch the runway in a straight line. This way will probably take you just to the airport... How do I do to line up with the runway?

  • god!

  • 5 stars tks :)

  • very good vid

    very informative

  • y do u hav flaps set to 5 degrees at 8000 feet? LOL just kidden i no its just a totorial :P

  • you all know that Rod Machado watched this!!!! He gave me the link to this i added him on facebook and he posted a link on my wall and told me to watch this one cause i had AP problems

  • OMG TY

  • thank you sooo much 4 helping

  • Cool I always wondered how to do that.

  • I tried going 150Knt winds even though I'm not even pro :P, and guess what? I couldn't land so I tried 50Knts still can't land. Why is it like that when I flare It makes me go up. Plus if My throttle is 0% its like I'm 100% I'm going 400+Knts with a commercial airline!!! (0%Throttle) Even If I put my speed brakes :( and Geeeeeeaaaaaaarssssss!

  • what heading do you set the wind at?

  • diffecult

  • dude this was the tutorial i finally figured it out thank you so much!!!!!!

  • Sorry DN I got alotta questions :P.

Whats the Jet's autopilot setting name?

I did but I forgot the button cuz I just keep pressing random buttons.

  • No problem man, glad to help :)

Which autopilot setting are you referring to...the master switch? That's the gray button on the far right.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm trying to use the nav function and it isn't working. I made sure everything was right but it doesn't work.

  • Hey Genis, what purpose are you using the NAV function for?

  • Oh and Uh Whats the ideal speed for landing and taking off?

    265 knts?

  • Those speeds vary for depending on the aircraft and your payload/fuel, but you should be able to look them up. In a 737, you should be landing around 130 kts depending on the situation. I'm not sure about the takeoff speed, but 265kts is pretty excessive, haha :)

  • @ImAFlyingNoob hay... for takeoff on FSX 737 usually about 140-145 kt for landing also 140-145 depending on your weight and flap setting

  • Thanks Your Best!

  • when i am in a flight in fsx to decent i just kinda nose dive it can someone tell me how to decent like a real aircraft

  • Hey sniper. I suggest watching my ILS tutorial; it's in my Tutorials playlist.

  • Hey DN#10! I Got a question

umm is there a config that controls

speed brakes? Like is it in the settings?

  • Hey! You can arm your speedbrakes by pressing Shift+/ . They will automatically deploy when you touch the ground.

  • I mean i Subscribed u!!! xD

  • Dude Tnx! U subscribed u

  • Thanks!

  • I'm not sure. Wait one more question :P!

How do I talk to the Tower :(?

  • Simply press the Scroll Lock key to bring up the ATC window. There will be a list of options, each with a number. Simply press the number that corresponds to the option you would like. Note that you can't use the numbers on the number pad to do this (those are to move the view), you must use the numbers above the letters on your keyboard.

  • @ImAFlyingNoob you can find out the keys for all these functions by hitting the kneeboard chart button, which is shift+F10. Also, there's a help tutorial in the program itself.

    Thanks for the vid.

  • DN#10 Your videos are AWESOME!

    I typed up,

FSX: Autopilot Functions Tutorial PART 1

    and

FSX: Autopilot Functions Tutorial PART 2

anyways I just need a simple thing I don't know how to activate reverse thrust. Do I hold F2? or press F2 when I just landed?

  • Thanks! :D

You should hold down F2 for a couple seconds to make sure you've activated full reverse thrust.

  • i have a question and i dont know if this is supposed to do it or im doing something wrong:

when i use autopilot and the alt hold and everything, when ever my plane is cruising its nose is always pointing up and its flaring the whole entire flight from when i turn autopilot on. can someone help me with this?

  • It sounds like you are flying too slow, so the airplane needs to pitch up in order to produce enough lift to sustain itself. How fast are you flying?

  • thanks mate great video!

  • ty soo much been goin out ma mind tryin to folo pink line O.o

  • hey i use a a340-200 and i dont know if i can leave it autopilot in an aprox and the AP calculates it selve the descend speed, i mean you lnow in the nav register it tells you which flight level to have in each point of the aprox and i ask if the airplane can go its selve and make it perfectly

  • hey people i wanna know how to turn off ur engine thanx in any plane cheerz all good landings!!

  • he

does anyone knows how i can adjust the autopilot that he flies also curves, i mean the plane should fly alone, without me as its pilot? i know it's possible but i don't know how i can do that, pls apply!!!

  • in the radio stack do i on the the small button in the bottom that says nav1?

  • Thanks alot for this tutorial!

Finally i know what the hell i´m suppose to do ;D

  • This looks nothing like a real plane.

  • how do you know where your heading

  • I watched a couple of your MFSX videos and you've answered a LOT of questions for me regarding ILS flight. THANKS

  • Tnx, I finally landed with your instructions! Just one question: I tried that on several airports but sometimes ILS guided me away from the runway - the plane was aligned with the runway but in oposite direction... Does it make a difference if you are coming from different directions toward the airport? Example: going from north to Venice, Tessera (LIPZ) - when I hear morse code and turn NAV on the plane starts turning away from the airport (but it is aligned with runway heading).

  • maybe winds..

  • I'm not 100% sure, But, I guess you approach the run way on opposite side. example you should be approach on north and you approach on south.

auto pilot heading is on? if yes that is the problem it overrides the approach auto switch on.

    again not 100% sure.

  • whats the heading and course button for and where do you figure out what the number is? thanks if you reply

  • Well the heading is to lock on to a certain heading of your choice and the course is necessary when using certain radio navigational aids such as VORs. I explain all of this in the video.

  • my istrumens look blurry how can i fix that

  • Perhaps your resolution is set too low?

  • I do that too but only above 10,000ft. I could be wrong but really I've seen it everywhere that under 10,000ft you should stay under 250kts.

  • In real life, you could get clearance from ATC to go over 250kts under 10,000 if you needed to.

  • Thanks for letting me know :D

Since I'm not a real pilot I'm continuously learning things as well.

  • Comment removed

  • i tried typing in the airport identification thing the same way u did it but it didn't let me type it in

  • Thank you so much for this I played the transitioning to jets mission on fsx which is a short flight used without autopilot but was disappointed because even though I taught the HDG, altitude and vertical speed holds to myself, there was never any tutorial and had trouble with the approach hold function.

  • just click "z"

  • i was wondering if any one knows how to change the autopilot setting with out using the mouse ?

  • great video should help me get a better approach on landings thanks

  • dont take vista take xp it is much better for fsx

  • Thanks :)

  • DN, I have a site and it has an autopilot tutorial. Do you mind if I put this video on my site for more visual people both parts 1 2 and ils landing tut. Thanks!

    Slade

  • Yeah, no problem! Thanks for asking :)

  • If i whould make a flight plan like from Klax to Ksea and whould have the gps active and as soon as i took off then turned on Nav hold whould it follow the line all the way to Seattle?

  • Yes, as long as the NAV-GPS switch was on GPS.

  • that "glitch" at 7:29 is because you had the heading bug still on.

  • Ahh, how did I not see that? I guess I just assumed that turning on the Nav Hold would disable the Heading Hold. Thank you so much for pointing it out.

  • i do that all the time i accidentally leave the gps on during an ils landing and forget about it and im like wtf.
