i have one of these that i have bought from goodwill without hdd or memory sticks. well when i took it home and pluged it to the electricity and monitor as is , it turned on and both fans where blowing but no display on the monitor!!! is it normal since there is no memory stick nor hdd in it or is it still has to show some sort of info and display something on monitor??

@ghanimali Yes in order to have anything displayed on the monitor from the pc you need both a HDD and ram/memory. If you are needing to order some check out newegg.com

DELL sucks... HP is the best !!! dell optiplex gx620 has been crushed after 6 months. My current pc is an HP Pavillion and it runs about 3 years 24/24 and still no problem.

IDK if someone answered this yet, but all 4 of those slots can have RAM in them, just put your new stick in any of the other three empty slots. It would be wise not to exceed 4GB of RAM though, since the Computer is a 32bit.

hi, great video thanks... i have the gx620 and want to upgrade the memory...it has 1 stick in it at the moment which is 1gb.....can i remove that and just put a 2 gb in its place or also put a 2 gb in both slots or also leave the 1gb and put a 2 gb in the other slot? also what can are the slots next to them for? thanks

The fan sounds like a jet engine, I tried to put a slot cooler and is incompatible with all. anyone has any solution.

hi, my mum had 1 of these and it sounded very loud.....i cleaned out the fan for her because it was full of hair and dust and now it is silent....and runs better....not sure if you sorted it already...hope this helps..

For all those who are interested in speeding up an optiplex GX620, take in mind that it supports up to 4GB of RAM at 667mhz, it has 2 PCI slots,1 PCIe x1 and 1 PCIe x16 slot, so you'll be able to put a video card in there, but, make sure the video card don't exceed the energy power capabilities of this machine, it supports 305Watts

I have seen these pc's run long and hard (That's whats she said), I would guess it would work fine for video editing. The quickest was to speed it up is to upgrade the RAM, but you can only pump it up so much depending on the OS and Processor. Not know your specs I would guess you could only go up to 4 GB of ram.

dude look inside the graphics port is a PCI-E x16 and the other one is AGP not agi
