The crimes are due to capitalism(=greed). Mortgage brokers/loan officers got bonuses from each loan they signed. They talked consumers into signing up for loans, knowing they could not afford the loans, except maybe for a few months. THey were willing to take that risk, thinking to make 20+% in a month or so. The loan docs showed completely incorrect income information; the payment schedule showed the loan principle growing. The consumer thought that was ok, ignored it, or couldn't read.

sweeping banking/finance related deregulation is to blame for the MAGNITUDE of the financial crisis. Freddie & Fannie actually lost market share during the sub-prime boom - other lenders are just as much to blame.

Regardless, deregulation allowed a bad scheme to balloon b/c banks were able to repackage & resell the mortgages w/o adequate over site, THEN leverage their already inflated value 2-3+ times more than they ever had before dereg.

The ability to vote isn't a privilege for property owners only - this isn't 1780.

The address requirements for voter reg are in place to guarantee that people don't get more than one vote, or 'carpetbag' to swing an election.

If you are evicted & haven't re-registered, there is nowhere else you can vote. Even though you've recently been evicted, your stake & relationships are still in that community. Even homeless people get to vote.

You need to think hard if you don't think its unethical.
