when you use this method of transfer, is it just a copy or it goes from one xbox, to the flash drive, to the new xbox?...in other words if u copy a game to a flash drive and lose it lets say, will it still be on the old xbox?

You don't need 2 xbox. Only if one or both hard drives are installed. Also, this works is you're upgrading your 20 to a 60gb, just take the hard drive out, replace it with the new, and transfer the data from the old one on the flash drive to the new hard drive

Why not get an external hard drive via usb over 200 or 100 GB and do it that way? instead of using the flash key... :| Or would the xbox not see the 200+GB external HD? but if thats the case then it wouldn't see it's own HD :|... So, my guess is that it should work... That way you don't need an extra xbox :|...

I have a question. I've recently deleted content I wish to get back. I looked into it, and there is a method I found that may work [It involves using Modio and Xtaf Explorer]. What I was wondering is would it be possible to use these programs to restore my deleted files using this method with a Portable HD instead of the HD itself? I aks because I understand it may not be possible to transfer every bit of data which is needed to restore these saves from the HD to a Portable HD.

I found this out on my own. I told my friends but thry thought it was a hack. Anyway, u can also use thjs method in a lot of ways. I am using it to get the black ops first strike map pack. Just go to a friwnd who has the map pack, then copy the map pack onto your usb.

Hello. I have a 20GB 360 and wanted to switch to a 120GB HDD. So I would be keeping the same XBOX. My question is can I do this using ONLY USB drives? I have saves and DLC on 2 16GB USBs.

My idea was to first transfer this data from the USBs to the 120GB, and then go back attachl again the 20GB and move data from the 20GB to the USBs, and finally attach the 120GB and move the information that the USBs have from the original 20GB HDD.Thanks!

@mikeyy1603 nope... map packs are stored to gamertag memory.. it will still be on your old xbox, but you have to re-download it to the new xbox. so your brother will still have the map pack. just not any story data, or split screen data.

Thanks a lot for your video. Kept me from spending some money. But I have a small update. You don't need two Xbox 360 Consoles. All you have to do is transfer the data from one hard drive onto the flash drive then turn the console off and switch hard drives. That's the way I did it. I did start with my profiles and favorite game data so that if I couldn't get the rest of the stuff, I'd be okay with it. But no such problems. Hope this helps somebody.

I put my Jump Drive in and it gives me a System Error - E 71 (I had trouble getting a required update on my Slim a while back and had to call microsoft and they suggested putting the updates on my xbox with a Jump Drive and I told them I got this Error and they said it wasnt the right Error Code for this situation. So going to their website wont help. BTW I deleted all old system update files off the Jump Drive.
