I saw this way back in 1997 and it made me want to go to London. I have since been to the Tower 4 times and love it. I hate that they bought into Richard III "the villain" bs though...
The issue of Anne Boleyn's six fingers is a total myth; Henry VIII would had never marry or love a woman with a deformity; his pride was too high for that. Anne's enemies created that myth.
Elizabeth Bristol needs to get more accurate information ... there are no contemporary reports about Anne having six fingers. There's nothing mentioned by the Imperial ambassador, Eustace Chapuys, who was fiercely loyal to Katherine of Aragon and equally hostile to Anne -- if Anne had had anything that smacked of deformity, surely Chapuys would have remarked upon it. (Also, this is the first I've ever heard of her having six toes ...)
@MrsNorris55 Anne Boleyn apparently did have 6 fingers, and because of the conetations of that, she designed, what became known as the "Boleyn sleeves" on court gowns - the idea being that the sleeves were designed to hang at such an angle by the outside of the and, that they hid the little finger - and in Annes case , her extra finger - the style was emulated by all at court, but after her death, they slowly disappeared.
i've read about her in my witches studies(kinda cheezy to call it that, but i don't want ppl to ask "what's that?" it's just the simplest way of putting it), some people think that the only reason the king fell in love with her is because she WAS a witch and cast a spell on him, i'm not sure if i believe that one though, you could be seen as a witch back then for having a mole in the wrong place. i feel sorry for her...
Richard III was innocent and had no hand in the death of those kids. It has been bombasted through history by the Tudors and then more so by Hollywood because let's face it-the TRUTH dosen't sell!
Anne Boleyn fan or not, if I saw her floating head, I'd make a beeline for the exit. Another fanatic can stay if they want, but you'll see me running!
Who, Anne Boleyn? If that's who you meant, then that is correct. She was executed by a sword. Henry wanted to make her death quicker. Apparently a sword did a cleaner, and better job than the axe.
Axe or sword, there's no comfor in knowing you're going to be beheaded.
the whole story of the tower is fasinating. About the two princes the nephews of Richard III, its interesting that during the boys stay there that the step father of the future Henry VII was in charge of the Tower. The boys themselves as well as the other children of richards brother EdwardIV were declared iligetimate. If any one should be haunted for eternity I hope old Henry is being chased by those he murdered in cold blood!
poor anne askew(dunno how to spell her last name) she was tortured because she was a protestant and they tortured her because they wanted her to say that katherine parr(king henry's VIII last wife) was a herectic!
but the boleyns got tyheir revenge from Mary boleyn who is prince William and harry great great great on so on children as well as for the Queen herself from her mother so like in the movie the other boleyn she did what Anne was suppose to do have a royal lineage

anne dident diffenctly hav 6 fingers there is no everdence 2 prov it
lucluc8 3 years ago
Even if she did, it just means she had an extra finger, not that she was a witch. People back in those times believed such ridiculous things.
