  • @GerardoLosChicos you are obviously a complete cock.

  • @Ironshithorse Awww... big tough guy AND a sexuality uncertainty!!! You keep it up, my little friend. Don't tell me...you're American aren't you? You have the right to bear arms and accuse people who are winning arguments of being queer, right? LOL!!

  • @Ironshithorse Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ! There is simply not enough time left in the world to explain in simple enough terms just WHY you aren't worth taking seriously..... Go home and learn to spell, big tough guy!

  • ¡Mi madriña!

  • @Ironshithorse Awesome. It's a Special Needs comment!

  • To Coldplay, Kaiser Chiefs, Elbow and all the scrawny little Indie pretenders etc, who think they are in any way cool. Go back home and live with your parents and cry inconsolably into your pillow and wonder what it would be like to perform with your entire soul with every sinew and blood vessel at bursting point..........Dr.Feelgood are just the Mutts Nutts..!!!

  • @Ironshithorse fuck off you no taste, tin eared yankee motherfucker! the doctor rules here.

  • @Ironshithorse

    you're a very rude sucker

just add mötley crue to your search and be happy

(i also was mislead when i was looking for this great band i recently discovered and came to some poservids)

  • motley who ????????????

  • @Ironshithorse you're seriously comparing a joke band like Mötley Crüe to the legendary Dr Feelgood in that tone...you MUST be American !!

  • @Ironshithorse you're seriously comparing a joke band like Mötley Crüe to the legendary Dr Feelgood in that tone...you MUST be American !!

  • @Ironshithorse...... gay ???...didn't motley crue wear make up and wear girls clothes?????....fuckwit !!

  • the best fucki' band ever in the world ever!!

  • GOD

  • the best live video i have ever seen on youtube

  • @auptt

one or two versions of "she does it right" are almost better!

  • these guys where fucken awesome,i was lucky enough to see them live in 87 here wellington new zealand,it was grunted up high energy,it was cool

  • Lee Brilleauxs suit looks like a dog kips on ot during the day . Wilko looks like he`s gonna kill someone and Sparks looks like a villian out of The Sweeney .

No one could touch the Feelgoods back then !

  • I Just can't get enough of these guys, that guitar is so damn hot. They are just as much fun to watch as to listen to. This is my favorite find on Youtube ever !

  • Rough, tough real rock, without frills.

    What a great band.

  • Wilco plays his guitar like Keith Moon played his drums. Wreckless balls to the wall insanity. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • la rajaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa¡¡¡¡¡ como se dice en Chile

  • i feel like im going to delete all the shitty indie rock tunes from my ipod..

  • Fabuloso Wilko Johnson!!!

  • I've seen & heard many blokes play guitar & I'm not impressed too easily with yer Jimi Hendrix or Eric Clapton wana bees. However, Wilko has a style of his own & is one of the best guitarists in the world. Another is Pete Townshend. both a great inspiration. Dr Feelgood was Wilko & Lee. I'm very impressed ! !

  • ha!ha! great!!

  • Awesome... Bloody awesome... They don't make them like this anymore.

  • I think this is awesome

  • I think this is awesome

  • People keep talkin about The Rolling Stones being greatest Rock N Roll band in the world, HA ! They havent seen or heard Dr Feelgood.

  • simon cowell should watch this - lee and wilko just nail it big time

  • THIS is R & B. The best Feelgoods lineup by far. So tight, so full of energy.

  • Between them, They are a Match Made in R & R History....

  • wilko is the man! check out the audience shot around 0:55. those people are having one hell of a good time

  • Awesome! I forgot all about this song. I have it on a piece of vinyl that I haven't played in 20 years.

  • Firkin awesome !!! Check out how nifty JB Sparks gets out of Wilkos road during the solos - a wise man

  • This is f*cking sublime. Totally amazing. Wilko is Wilko. And Lee looks like someone you don't wanna meet in a dark alley. When i see this, i come to realize how "watered-out" the music businnes have become. I mean. Take any Kanye-Bla-Bla- and bla and compare it with this. Silly.

Thanks for bringing it to us.

  • I can only imagine what Wilco Johnson would have been like if he had a wireless unit back in the day. Great video post anyway

  • Lee Brilleaux's suit ... this classic concert (various songs from it available on YT) looks like the end of a tour--a hometown gig?--and quite great. I saw Wilko live the other week, still moving round the stage pretty intensely, though no leaps alas. Been watching him periodically since the first time I was blwon away by the Feelgoods in the pre-punk period, St Andrew's Hall Norwich, 1975 or so. Still got the poster.

  • AWESOME....Wilko is SOOO going off on this song!! : )

  • Just absolutely fuckin' handsome!

  • Wilko Johnson plays the guitar as if he is playing it to it's limit's OUT OF CONTROL but just add's to the beat of his fast brilliant guitar playing. A brilliant punk band with great musicians. Wilko Johnson best Bass player ever. As amygurl63 Wilko & Lee were the act of rock 'n' roll.

  • Would love to find a mp3 file so i can listen to this brilliant song on my i-pod from genius band dr feelgood.

  • Wilco Johnson is fucking awesome! How keeps walking around on stage while playing those rhythm & lead riffs at once, its just amazing! Some day, i too will walk back and forth onstage while brushing my knuckles agains a telecaster.. Someday...

  • fuuuuuuuuck; wilko johnson is such an underrated guitarist

  • Oil City Gangsters ! Brilliant !

  • @ JerkJiggler - Wilco based his combination lead and rhythm style on Mick Green of The Pirates, he actually mentions this in Oil City Confidential, although I think Mick used a pick.

  • @Crewedaddy I too watched Oil City Confidential and I think Wilko said he only used his fingers as he kept snapping the plectrums...but an original style of guitar playing. The bit about how he used his "stare" at the audience to make them feel they were being watched was good....an intelligent bloke that Wilko!

  • I think someone should check their pockets, I think I know what they've been up to.

  • totally original. brilliant.

  • Best medecine ever...

  • yes, plug it straight into the amp...wish I knew what kind of amp it was

  • @mfuton I Think it's a Roland JC 120.. Happy to be corrected, though.

  • @Redthing65 No, it's not - Looks like an H/H

  • Thanks, I'll check it out!

  • Esto es la ostia, Gerardo...Me ha hecho desempolvar el Malpractice que se va a venir conmigo al Turbo Rock de Santander y la voy a pinchar para dedicartela a ti, hombre!

  • Comment removed

  • Wilco is like posessed wizard on a broomstick he can barely control. Is he playing the guitar or is it animating him from within?

  • So many Magic memories God Bless Dr Feelgood!

  • Here's No 2

There's nothing like the PunK attitude to blast away the blues!

  • Thats the way to do it

  • How the f**k have I only just gotten into Dr Feelgood?! Dscovered then the other day when I saw a trailer for oil city confidential, I've now spent around 4 hours watching all the youtube footage I can! Have to say, that Wilco's style of playing is pretty damn unique, are there any other guitarists like him?!

  • @JerkJiggler

Know what'cha mean! I had heard their name back in the 70's, but here in the U.S. Midwest, they NEVER got any radio play, nor do I ever recall them playing in the area (Kansas City, Missouri). But after reading about them in British Mags MOJO and UNCUT recently, and like you, seeing the trailer for the film, I ended up watching a bunch of these clips and this band is simply incredible. Wilko is indeed a unique guitarist.

  • @JerkJiggler No I don't think so, quite unique, no plectrum! A real innovator. The films good as well. Oh the wonders of you tube, we all keep finding stuff to watch, better than telly!

  • @JerkJiggler

Probably nobody else like him but he was a major influence on a young Paul Weller. Check out The Jam's "In The City" album and Wilko's influence can be heard throughout, Weller was a big fan of Wilko at the time.

  • What makes me think this is just about better than anything else out there?!!!

    Am I dreaming?

  • How cool is Wilco !!! He's fucking brilliant !!!

  • Wilko is a complete nutter, fucking good guitarist tho,so much powerful stage presance

  • wilko is the coolest mutha

  • Absodamnlutely brilliant!

  • Chatted to Wilco on Friday - saw the film by Julien Temple - great

  • I saw Dr Feelgood about 1980 and they were a great UK R&B band ... enjoy a good honest band with a "down the pub" atmosphere. I never forget hearing Back in the Night for the first time about 1976 and thinking wow !! They still sound as good as I remember them.

  • Punk before punk?

  • This is awesome! Wilko Johnson is Rock & Roll personified. It's sad that when most think of Dr. Feelgood, they think of the crappy Motley Crue song, and not this underrated Rock and Roll steamroller! I can't wait to see the Fellgood Documentary, OIL CITY CONFIDENTIAL ,on DVD, as it may never end up on a movie screen here in the States outside of New York and L.A.

  • @KoenHead totally agree on the Motley Crue shit, I hate them just for that.

  • @KoenHead I dropped it down to DVD last night directed by Julien Temple. Still got the original on my Sagem if you havn't got it.

  • My favourite in the album Malpractice..saw it live in 75....3 years before punk and pure dynamite...The Clash weren't as charismatic as they were

  • They never did BENEFITS for the N.H.S. did they?

  • Adrenalina pura.

MY BUDDY BUDDY FRIENDS

  • Wilko is the f-in man. Dr. Feelgood has got to be my favorite pub rock band, and one of my favorite bands of all time.

  • awesome guitar player.

punx that actually could play (like ian dury, stranglers, ruts eg)

    ta for posting it.

    cheers

  • Shockingly good. I'm really just totally speechless...I read a recent article in Mojo where some bandmember said they shouldn't really be compared to the punks because they could wipe the floor with any later punk band, and I tend to agree.

  • @mtopper66 they look way to clean to punks

  • a belter - rivetting performance - and Wilko at his brilliant best

  • Wilko/Lee/John B/Figure - the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse would shit themselves in front of these guys....

  • Its like Wilko's little guitar lead keeps pulling him back to the amp ! He should have forked out for a longer lead !!!!!

  • Wilco always did that. That was his stage persona

  • tremendous ! ! !

  • Wilko was the Bees knees, still is.........

  • Brilliant!

Saw them in 78 or 79! They were the Band!

In a similar venue! No seats!

I've never got "I'm a hog for you Baby, I can't get enough of your love..." out of my head...

Any video of that one? ;o)

  • Also! Lee Brilleaux looks like he's been in the pub all day and is ready to beat the sh*t out of the crowd. At the Stadium the crowd had usually also been drinking all day. No wonder it kicked off! I still have the press cuttings from the next day. Great Times Great Bands. AC/DC in 1976 anyone?

  • This'll make your socks roll up and down! Brilliant. Exciting. Wilco was such an inspiration for me. Saw them several times in Liverpool including at The Stadium 26 Jan 1976 when the hall was wrecked! This song plus 'I Can Tell' are my favourites.

  • If you like this check out the new Feelgoods film that is released at the London Film Festival on Friday (16th October) or Wilko's "Back in the Day" with Steve Hooker boy can those guys play

  • Este viernes, día 24 de julio, en el festival de Blues de Cazorla. No te lo pierdas

  • The Bass on the rhythm of the guitar is electric like so many of their well done hits.

What a exciting sounding band! RIP Lee Brilleaux Your music always remembered by those who care to listen. Thank You.

  • Wilco rules !!

  • very very very very very very good baaaaaaanddd awesoooooomme

  • Amazing...

  • anybody know what amp Wilco used back then?

  • Hi Tubeman, Wilcos Amp back then was the then quite popular IC-100 by H|H, a solid state 2 x 12" combo amplifier also available as just a head. The model in this vid seems to have its speaker grille removed. Best regards - David

  • where are they now?

  • the singer Lee Brilleaux dies a few years ago ...I saw them live in '85 but Wilco had long left - smashing stuff!

  • Thanks for the info dofane,i saved the "roxette" vid

showing them on the old grey whistle test in 1975

    when we all had hair!.

  • I first saw dr feelgood at m bro in 1975 and i came out 7 foot off the ground , and i still need a dr, when i watch these videos .those where the days!!!

  • '75? - God, I envy you!!

  • That's the kind of guitar sound I can get behind (not to mention the execution & energy!) Too many "guitar heroes", and I know a few, are totally afraid of such a raw bristling tone. They have to hide behind a flank of stupid, steroidal boost pedals. Not man enough to take it straight up, I suppose!

  • Wilco and Lee really were the act..... They were great visually.....Bravo!!!

  • Wilko, super devine genius nut!!!! Don't get no betta than that!!!! Righteous!!! And Feelgood is so great with his restrained, pentup energy that's always on the verge of exploding but never quite does!!!! Excellent!!!

  • Wilko is it! Total energy!

  • wilko +angus young=sheer brilliance

  • Think it can only be done on a telecaster - others got broader necks

  • From Mick Green to Wilko Johnson :) Doesn't get no better.

  • Wilko is great, Dr Feelgood is great, but Dr Feelgood with Wilko it's the best, so sad they did not play together longer...

i saw them in Spain at it was one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Pure energy, pure rock, pure music...

  • wish i could have seen this band.

makes me feel ive missed something great in life.

  • Wilco is still playing and is still brilliant - doing a new years eve gig in putney, london

  • GO LEE, GO WILKO

  • WOW !!!!!!!!!!!! Brilliant

  • This is rock n roll!!

  • Lol Lee physically ahd to hold up WIlko there

  • Lol wtf? Wilko's the original acrobat cum guitarist :D

  • You had to be there didn't you? I saw them many times...greatest band in the history of R&R. Never seen anything like them, never will again. I did once see a band called the Top Cats...I think? They supported Feelgood at the old Town and Country in Camden...I'm sure it was around 1986 and without Wilko this support band blew Feelgood off stage. Never heard any more about them.

  • They are playing the Colne festival in Lancashire in the UK this weekend!!

  • "You had to be there"!?

Man, you never said a truer word!

Saw The Feelgoods several times at Friars Aylesbuy, Hemel Pavilion, Queensway hall Dunstable - i've seen a lot of bands as good - i never saw one better!!

    Fantastic!

  • I saw them many times at Dingwalls in Camden. What a truly great band and fantastic live. True sons of Canvey! Any footage from their shows there?

  • is there any footage of the Lancaster uni gig on the 5th november 1975?

  • There was a period from 1975-76, as this video proves where Dr Feelgood were the best band on the whole fucking planet.

Britain shuld be proud of them!

  • I couldnt agree more,mate!

  • the fucking dogs bollocks....brill....

  • Straight friggin' great. When is somebody going to re-issue these great albums? Wilco, Lee and the rest of the band were true groundbreakers and had a sound all their own!

  • All the albums are available, including an expanded version of Down By The Jetty with alternative versions of songs. There's also a DVD that comes with a live CD, same set as Stupidity more or less, but recorded close-mic'ed. Wilko told me he had to fight to get that LP recorded as if you were hearing it from the crowd, and as we know it sounds great, but now you can hear it the other way! Amazon's got 'em all...

  • @lunz31 buy second-hand

  • this was pure class never will we see this again

  • jeezus - bye bye speakers, play loud, what a band! Wilko, what a man and Lee Brilleaux, best r n b voice ever

  • magic

  • Freakin' brilliant

  • Wilko uses Gauss (not sure of speeling) speakers in his H&H. I bought a 65 tele on the back of him in 1980. Never looked back since :o)

  • 8 november 1975. Thank God this one was filmed and not the concert held the next day, 9 november, Hammersmith Odeon (end of tour) where Wilko had some sort of a nervous breakdown (his words and various reviews of the gig found online) and fucked up the whole gig. Anyhow, this is the best 30 minutes of any concert DVD, period. Find it, folks.

  • is there any footage of the Lancaster uni gig on the 5th nov 1975?

  • Not that I know of... perhaps audio only, there are several bootlegs from that october-november '75 tour...

  • can you point me to any sites that may have the bootlegs? cheers

  • no flies on this band.pure class.

  • and everyone wonders where AC/DC comes from lol

  • PERKELE!!! Original stuff!!!

  • The original Feelgoods with Wilco - it doesn't get any better than this!

  • Fucking BRUUUUTAL!

  • Saw them 75/76. Crowd went fucking mental. Changed my life. In a band right now doing some of their stuff. Same set up as Wilco, Telecaster/ H&H 100 combo, but THAT sound eludes me. They were unique.

Check out some of the Pirates posts on here and see the similarities with Wilco and Mick Greens style.

    You

  • Wilko didn't do it this way but it does work - if you're using a regular IC100 plug your guitar into the clean channel 'normal' jack socket, then take a short lead from the bright socket next to it and plug the other end into the sustain channel normal socket(sustain switch set to 'on') - hey presto, both channels on at the same time! You can balance up the clean and dirty channels and get a close approximation of Wilko's sound. I've been doing it that way for years!

  • indeed! I experienced dr F and Wilco's solid senders countless times and you guys who didnt, well I hurt for ya cos its absolutely the truth you missed one of lifes most intense experiences dr F...live...in a pub. Due to licencing restrictions, pubs have never been so cram-packed since and there sure aint been another band as good EXCEPT...Camden [London] has a top notch pub culture and look out for a group called 'The Cubical'...now put the two together and...hmmm?

  • great vid - Lee and Wilko at their very best - thanks for posting

  • Pharmaceutical Grade Rock N Roll!!! Only prescribed by Dr Feelgood.

Only a handful of bands can live up to that description. I'm lucky to have seen them and it saddens me that so few bands come close these days.

They never sold out to the fundamentals of good, honest live music. Few can claim anything close.

Thanks for sharing this clip :-)

  • r.i.p lee.......diamond geezer.

  • Je lève ma pinte à la mémoire de Lee Brilleaux.

  • In ' Pub Rock ' R n'B terms ... the Feelgoods were the Beatles n' Stones rolled into one .... only much feckin better :-D

  • you see

this is what twats like U2 and Oasis cant do and never will

play REAL fucking rock and roll

i dont care how much bread they make it dont count

this is what counts cock suckers !

    it's called

    IMORTALITY !!

    deal with it children !!

  • sure i'll do my best to meet wilko in time... i allready missed lee ....

  • Punk be damned. These guys invented it. Saw them in '72 ish on the Geordie scene, british tv show.

    Sooooooooooooperb.

  • i dont blame punks bur i wish you good and i am sorry not to have known the doctor alive

  • those beautiful boys !!!!!

    great stuff,,,

America have never produced a band this intense and shit hot ?

    Discuss

    TINY / SALFOD

  • Bueniiiisimoooo!!! :)))

  • What a fuckin' Telecaster bastard that Wilko Johnson is.

  • thank's for sharing !!! what a good show ;-)) i like it
