Wow...I'm sure this guy spent a couple of all nighters with his funny little thinking cap on to come up with such a brilliant theory (who's only downfall at the moment is a complete lack of evidence.....but hey, maybe one day they'll find it....after they find the ark!!)
So if the continents started drifting at high speeds right away then why did Noah have to stay on the boat for so long? Wouldn't all of the water have gone away in a few days?
Wow. These creationists are way beyond stupid. I don't think we have words in the English language to accurately describe how moronic they are. No, wait: Religious. That's what they are.
There's dumb, and then there's idiotic, and then there's religious.
If you believe in god, then what's the point of a scientific explination? If god can do anything then a scientific explination is meaningless, it would just be his will. But I guess it sounds better even when it's explained with a pseudo-science.
This kind of nonsense disguised with some scienfitic sounding terms and numbers is purely for the uneducated so they can go 'hey yea, that makes sense!' Any educated person though, would immediately realize the 10 to 20 different scientific flaws in this little explanation of his. For one, even the entire crust of the earth would not have produced enough pressure to spray water 20 miles up in the air.
how do we explain that huge crater in the earth caused by a meteor that would have undoubly killed every human being? Why do different dating methods, that arent interchangeable all point to an old earth? How do you explain a young earth if there are planets millions of light years away? Radioactive decay produces heat thats why the center of the earth is molten. HOw do you explain compressing this decay into 6000 years without standing on a planet formed entirely of molten lava?
now i know where nephilimfree got his lunar bukkake hypothesis. the global flud did not happen, and these nuts disd not provide a single evidence or source, this is pure speculation of the idiots class.
If you consider what takes place in our time, all the horrors, I can't imagine what the people did back then to let god do this. The people must haven been really bad that an allmighty and amicable god decided to do this to his creation. It seems that forgiving his creations for their imperfections, he himself is responsible for, is out of the question.
Hmm. This is a pretty messy method of global genocide for a god. I would have just erased everyone. Or remade everyone to my liking. Or do it right the first time since I would be perfect, and would have no need for a built in death bomb.
When the water left the space below the crust, wouldn't the crust collapse into the voided space? Besides it doesn't allow for the fact that land locked lakes are fresh water and the sea is salt water.
You know why I don't get? Why these people do this... I mean... they MUST be aware that they are lying right? It seems rather impossible that this guy actually believes what he is saying. So why is he saying it? What does he or the world gain from this?
This just goes to show that creationists have no handle on evidence or the scientific method. How do they know about this shell of water beneath the earth's crust? This doesn't come from their little holy book, so they must have a reason, right? What kind of evidence have they collected that indicates any such thing? None at all. Creationists seem to think science is just making stuff up that happens to match your pre-supposed conclusion and calling it good. You gotta test this stuff, people.
Tectonic plates SLID at 45 mph???? The mantle isn't a fucking greased skillet, and there are more then two plates. If stratification occured during the flood, how does that explain vertical strata layers? Only a very long period of time with alot of pressure could make that possible. The stupidity of this video is overwhelming.
He said 10.000 H-bombs. Obama has recently arranged with Russia that they reduce their nuclear arms to 1500 each, which is enough to destroy the earth 7-12 times over. Now, 10.000 of these bombs would cause these 17 little canyons?
Also, we have a pretty clear picture of why the mountains formed and why they're STILL GROWING.
All I have to say to this video is hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaa
This idiot wants us to beleive that noah got off his boat and planted a garden on a continent that was ravaged by sea water. Did he eat all the animals he just saved while waiting for his carrots to come up?
@toelesshoe I would venture a guess that he continued to eat whatever he had been eating for all that time on the Ark. And if you knew anything about farming, you'd know the absolutely remarkable value of deep sea minerals when added to soil in the appropriate proportions. Jesus loves you, bro.
The energy of 10 billion hydrogen bombs being released would have decimated the entire planet in gas and heat, not result in a flood. Imagine being inside a giant autoclave.
Correct me if wrong, but wouldn't the water coming out of that crack be pure hot pressurized steam? And seeing the crack was big enough to circle almost the entire earth, whouldn't that make everything under the atmosphere cook?
Even if that wasn't the case, they would still have to find any kind of proof of the chambers. They're basing their "research" on unproven assumptions. Which doesn't only make them retarded, it also makes them liars.
OK, screw t_0.5=ln(2)/λ. For any future studies or investigations, please council the most available "holy scriptures" and the asshole who explains them.... None of this has any geological evidence, and most is not mentioned in the bible. The bible does not say anything about the fountains of the deep being "interconnected" or that they all opened at the same time, or that water jetted into the stratosphere, ....
Also, I'd like to see the calculations (from known physics) that show any of this is even possible. I assume you've done them to show the hypothesis is at least plausible, or can provide a reference from someone that knows some physics.
I wouldn't expect any kind of calculations supporting their hypothesis. We both know that creationist doesn't start by looking at the world, they start by looking at the bible. They will make up any kind of bullshit to support their believe.

And then the flood waters supposedly eroded this now sedimentary rock.
A one-time flood would leave a totally different sedimentation structure and fossil distribution pattern. See Noah's flood - debunked Part 1 and 2 for a good counter to this nonsense.

Ok...it's a "theory"? So that means this was published in a scientific magazine after peer review and widely accepted by the scientific community? It must have been, otherwise it wouldn't be a "theory".
Off course, it's quite obvious that he just came up with a story, called it a theory and bypassed the scientific scrutiny ALL other hypothesis, including evolution and gravity, are subject to before deserving the name "theory"...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Ya know what? This seems just as credible--if not more so--than the whole theory of evolution. They both come across as logical and intelligent, all the while not providing any (or very little) concrete evidence to back them up.
Before you go trodding on the work of countless men and women whose lives are devoted to the study of biology, please examine the actual evidence that they have uncovered.
That's all any scientist would have a creationist do... Look at the evidence. Don't just assume there is none because someone told you so. Think for yourself, please!

Science: observe, make a hypothesis, collect data, experiment, use known laws, publish your results in a refereed setting and walla....a Theory after years of others scrutinizing your results.
Creationist: Call something the "Hydroplate Theory" when it is conjecture (aka, here a pile of crap). His conjecture violates everything known to science.
This guy has a PhD in Physics? Probably got his degree from Creationist U. Or like K. Hovind, just made his degree up.
Believe it or not, some creationists actually have legitimate degrees from prestigious institutions. Sad thing is that they aren't afraid to whore themselves around for biblical literalists and use their degree to impress the gullible and uneducated.
No, some guy in a boat that he built all by himself, no modern tools, big enough to take two of every animal on board, enough food for them, with shit building up to the gunwhales, termites eating it, beavers and porcupines chewing it, those with sensitive stomachs barfing all over the decks...
Very interesting, but STUPID. This theory explains everything that fits with this theory, while completely ignoring genetics, massive parts of geography, geology, thermodynamics, anything and everything that does not fit.
Creationists are ignorant and too arrogant to admit it. They rely on other creationists to hear and accept their farfetched cosmogenies and be idiotic together.
What baffles me is why creationists try to explain their beliefs scientifically, they have made is quite clear they have no regard for empirical evidence, scrutiny, logic or science in any way shape or form, so why bother?
You believe in a world wide flood. Fair enough. You believe the world is 6000 years old. No problem. You believe man and dinosaurs chilled out together. Okey dokey. Believe what you like, just dont present it as science, its embarassing!
Reminds me of an Amway speach - ever been to one of those? "If you can just get the entire planet under you in your pyramid you'll get rich." What about all the other pyramids? Not a scrap of logic, but to those who are desperate to believe, it makes perfect sense. Did I just offend nearly everyone?
Creationists need to quit pretending to be scientific. Who are they trying to fool? Their followers already believe in Biblical inerrancy regardless of scientific facts. Just stay out of schools and science and I promise not to teach natural selection in Sunday school, deal?
We are all now dumber after watching this video. I must say that water 10 miles below the surface of the earth would be under extreme pressure and released that quickly would have steam cooked everything on the earth surface. geez i can't believe i am actually commenting on this.
@califoniania. What is scientific? Formulate a theory, test it using observable facts and if it fits, it is at the very least feasible until proven otherwise. The theory presented in this video is scientific. It is your opinion that is the problem. To you, anything that supports The Biblical account is not scientific by default. Therein lies the problem. Anyway, this is not an Ego war between me and you. If you are aware of a any fact that disproves a Biblical doctrine, please let me know.
@Alaniusone- Just explaining a bunch of known phenomena (which are already explained by better theories) does not make an idea a theory. For example, there is a hypothesis that explains our webbed fingers, a baby's strong grip, and even bald spots as a result of us being divers in our past, but it's not a scientific theory. A theory makes new predictions, explains a phenomenon in a way that matches the data and increases our understanding, and is not contradicted by the available data.
(cont'd) Having said that, let's see how many observations contradict Hydroplate "Theory". First off, the fossil record. It is arranged in neat layers which are associated with events known to produce such layers. It is also arranged according to an organism's evolutionary history, not by buoyancy as would be expected if they were all sorted by water. We can actually observe the continental plates moving using GPS technology in a way predicted by continental drift theory.
(cont'd) This includes us being able to see certain plates still moving toward each other and the associated mountain ranges (as a result) increasing in size. Furthermore, there is a complete lack of evidence of a global flood 4400 years ago and, in fact, we have contiguous civilizations that apparently lived through the flood and even built monuments and canals during the supposed time of the flood. And there are markers for determining the occurrence of floods that are absent.
(cont'd) We can detect even tiny little floods (comparatively) in the geological record and, in fact, know of one that may have been the basis of the Noah myth. It happened in Sumeria and while catastrophic, it wasn't anywhere near global. As for disproving Biblicial doctrine that's hardly necessary as the Bible has not been proven to be a reliable scientific source, but I'll do it anyway in the next post.
(cont'd) Are you familiar with the story of Jacob's goats? Basically Jacob tries to alter the patterns of his goats by having them reproduce in front of rods with different patterns on them so having them reproduce in front of striped rods makes striped babies, speckled rods make speckled babies, etc. This is completely wrong and not at all how trait inheritance works. I'd do more examples but I've taken up enough room as it is. But it still shows that the Bible's not inerrant.
Did this Dr Brown guy really work for the Defence Department? That is too much to believe. The things he said were presented as fact without any evidence to back it up. Typical genesis fundie made-up science. I feel so sad for the once great nation of the USA that there are serious people in positions of responsibility who believe this claptrap. Not a single shred of evidence to support this nonsense. Oh well, thats fundieism for you!
It's funny how with all this unbelievable geologic activity, with all the massive water spouts, plate shifting, ocean floor sliding, that Noah managed to stay afloat in his rusticly constructed ship. Good on you bud. You're a better sailor than popeye hopped on spinach.
Wow, pure fantasy. Didn't expect that. I mean, ever other creationist argument is based entirely on fact. Just adding to what zulmia said, God not only rigged Earth with a booby trap, he KNEW he was going to use it. That's what omniscience is. I love how Bible bashers say God is all-knowing but we still have free will. An entity can only possess omniscience in a determined universe. Hence, God knew adam would eat the fruit and knew he would have to kill 99.9% of life on Earth. Psychopath? Hmmm.
Yes, and the Bible says that God was pleased with he's creation and that he made everything good. You see examples of God undergoing psychiatric (and almost disturbing) mood swing throughout the Bible. It's by the time our good psychiatrist treat God with the best modern medical science has to offer.
This is kinda funny if you accept the bible. It means that when god created the earth, he rigged it with a booby trap. You know, in case his creation disappointed him and he had to utterly destroy most of the life forms on it. You know you have that in mind if you make anything. I mean, every computer I've ever built had a self destruct button in it...
@zulmia. It does not mean that at all. For one thing, not all Christians would be bold enough to pass off speculation as a doctrine. The video demonstrates a theory that is in line with scientific facts i.e. of fault lines, sudden sedimentation and fossilisation and the sudden freezing of many life forms. It also supports the Biblical account of a global flood. We do not know what purpose the waters beneath the crust served, perhaps thermal insulation or to prevent earth quakes and volcanoes.
It has been said several times but I feel I must say it. Where does he get any proof for this I mean it sounds like they are just combining random words together and pretending it makes sense its like the bible all over again.
ROFL! If it had the power of 10 billion hydrogen bombs, not just the life on it but the whole planet itself would have disintegrated, and probably take the moon and a few other planets out too!
This fucktard contends that the "waters of the deep" erupted with the force of several billion nuclear weapons. And a bunch of people and animals in a wooden boat survived. Yeah. Right.
yeh its amazing he can say it with a straight face. I'm pretty sure the amount of energy he describes being put out by this event would wipe out pretty much every living thing on the planet.
@carnut666. That was the point - to wipe everything out. God did not expect everything to turn out as it did. Angels ("the sons of God") came to earth and interbred with the daughters of men. They produced a hybrid offspring called The Nephilim. This is why ancient cultures all record the coming of the "Gods". The Nephilim were an abomination - a bloodthirsty race. They were larger and stronger than normal men. The flood was to wipe them out along with the ungodly humans living at that time
way to explain away an unknown event with the supernatural and at the same time make yourself feel more comfortable and somehow more knowledgable. try thinking instead of blindly believing. its more rewarding.
@klangsteiner. If this happened, which I tend to think it did, then the energy released would not necessarily kill anything at all. The water itself may, but not the energy. Energy comes in many forms, not all of which are lethal. The amount of energy released by this bursting forth of pressurised water is compared to the amount of energy released by that number of nuclear bombs, that is all. It is not likened in the form of energy released. Water does not cause nuclear fission.
Wow...I'm sure this guy spent a couple of all nighters with his funny little thinking cap on to come up with such a brilliant theory (who's only downfall at the moment is a complete lack of evidence.....but hey, maybe one day they'll find it....after they find the ark!!)

Ya know what? This seems just as credible--if not more so--than the whole theory of evolution. They both come across as logical and intelligent, all the while not providing any (or very little) concrete evidence to back them up.
So... yep. Sounds good to me. :)

Or like K. Hovind, just made his degree up.
joelkness 2 years ago 2
Believe it or not, some creationists actually have legitimate degrees from prestigious institutions. Sad thing is that they aren't afraid to whore themselves around for biblical literalists and use their degree to impress the gullible and uneducated.

ItsADoomsdayDevice 2 years ago 2
No, some guy in a boat that he built all by himself, no modern tools, big enough to take two of every animal on board, enough food for them, with shit building up to the gunwhales, termites eating it, beavers and porcupines chewing it, those with sensitive stomachs barfing all over the decks...
But hey, all perfectly believable, right? ; ^ )
fundiebasher 2 years ago 2
Very interesting, but STUPID. This theory explains everything that fits with this theory, while completely ignoring genetics, massive parts of geography, geology, thermodynamics, anything and everything that does not fit.

Creation science is an oxymoron, and its proponents are plain morons. The frightening thing is that people this dumb vote and run for office.

Creationists are ignorant and too arrogant to admit it. They rely on other creationists to hear and accept their farfetched cosmogenies and be idiotic together.
majornewb 3 years ago
Intriguing.

Just stay out of schools and science and I promise not to teach natural selection in Sunday school, deal?
califoniania 3 years ago 20
We are all now dumber after watching this video. I must say that water 10 miles below the surface of the earth would be under extreme pressure and released that quickly would have steam cooked everything on the earth surface. geez i can't believe i am actually commenting on this.
hitoallandme 3 years ago
@califoniania. What is scientific? Formulate a theory, test it using observable facts and if it fits, it is at the very least feasible until proven otherwise. The theory presented in this video is scientific. It is your opinion that is the problem. To you, anything that supports The Biblical account is not scientific by default. Therein lies the problem. Anyway, this is not an Ego war between me and you. If you are aware of a any fact that disproves a Biblical doctrine, please let me know.
Alaniusone 1 year ago
@Alaniusone- Just explaining a bunch of known phenomena (which are already explained by better theories) does not make an idea a theory. For example, there is a hypothesis that explains our webbed fingers, a baby's strong grip, and even bald spots as a result of us being divers in our past, but it's not a scientific theory. A theory makes new predictions, explains a phenomenon in a way that matches the data and increases our understanding, and is not contradicted by the available data.
califoniania 1 year ago
(cont'd) Having said that, let's see how many observations contradict Hydroplate "Theory". First off, the fossil record. It is arranged in neat layers which are associated with events known to produce such layers. It is also arranged according to an organism's evolutionary history, not by buoyancy as would be expected if they were all sorted by water. We can actually observe the continental plates moving using GPS technology in a way predicted by continental drift theory.
califoniania 1 year ago
(cont'd) This includes us being able to see certain plates still moving toward each other and the associated mountain ranges (as a result) increasing in size. Furthermore, there is a complete lack of evidence of a global flood 4400 years ago and, in fact, we have contiguous civilizations that apparently lived through the flood and even built monuments and canals during the supposed time of the flood. And there are markers for determining the occurrence of floods that are absent.
califoniania 1 year ago
(cont'd) We can detect even tiny little floods (comparatively) in the geological record and, in fact, know of one that may have been the basis of the Noah myth. It happened in Sumeria and while catastrophic, it wasn't anywhere near global. As for disproving Biblicial doctrine that's hardly necessary as the Bible has not been proven to be a reliable scientific source, but I'll do it anyway in the next post.
califoniania 1 year ago

You're a better sailor than popeye hopped on spinach.
snides17 3 years ago 3
Wow, pure fantasy. Didn't expect that. I mean, ever other creationist argument is based entirely on fact. Just adding to what zulmia said, God not only rigged Earth with a booby trap, he KNEW he was going to use it. That's what omniscience is. I love how Bible bashers say God is all-knowing but we still have free will. An entity can only possess omniscience in a determined universe. Hence, God knew adam would eat the fruit and knew he would have to kill 99.9% of life on Earth. Psychopath? Hmmm.
threewiseman1 4 years ago 3
Yes, and the Bible says that God was pleased with he's creation and that he made everything good. You see examples of God undergoing psychiatric (and almost disturbing) mood swing throughout the Bible. It's by the time our good psychiatrist treat God with the best modern medical science has to offer.
JaMoond 3 years ago 3
This is kinda funny if you accept the bible. It means that when god created the earth, he rigged it with a booby trap. You know, in case his creation disappointed him and he had to utterly destroy most of the life forms on it. You know you have that in mind if you make anything. I mean, every computer I've ever built had a self destruct button in it...
zulmia 4 years ago 6
lol Ive never thought of it like that.
carnut666 4 years ago 2
Alaniusone 1 year ago
It has been said several times but I feel I must say it. Where does he get any proof for this I mean it sounds like they are just combining random words together and pretending it makes sense its like the bible all over again.

This fucktard contends that the "waters of the deep" erupted with the force of several billion nuclear weapons. And a bunch of people and animals in a wooden boat survived. Yeah. Right.
klangsteiner 4 years ago 2
yeh its amazing he can say it with a straight face. I'm pretty sure the amount of energy he describes being put out by this event would wipe out pretty much every living thing on the planet.
carnut666 4 years ago
The flood was to wipe them out along with the ungodly humans living at that time
Alaniusone 1 year ago
Well klangsteiner, you see, it was a miracle. There. Problem solved.
"this event would wipe out pretty much every living thing on the planet."
Isn't that, like, what the flood story says?;-)
SchnappiKrokodil 4 years ago
way to explain away an unknown event with the supernatural and at the same time make yourself feel more comfortable and somehow more knowledgable. try thinking instead of blindly believing. its more rewarding.
derangius 3 years ago
@klangsteiner. If this happened, which I tend to think it did, then the energy released would not necessarily kill anything at all. The water itself may, but not the energy. Energy comes in many forms, not all of which are lethal. The amount of energy released by this bursting forth of pressurised water is compared to the amount of energy released by that number of nuclear bombs, that is all. It is not likened in the form of energy released. Water does not cause nuclear fission.
