I was very lucky to catch Willie in Jamaica in 1985 concert. He actually sat down with me and had a Blue Moutain coffee the next day after his show.I will never forget that day
I'm a 24 and I really love the blues since I was a child, I start listen this genres with Clapton, then i found Muddy and Robert Johnson but more I was searching less I was founding the reason why, since i found this. Now I really know the reason. Thanks for this. Really.
Thank you very much for posting this, I couldn't get this song out of my head ever since I saw it on Mezzo a couple of years back. May he rest in peace.
@ralphschmedley, you are right my good man i know Willie had recorded this on one LP or another cuz i sooooooooooooooo remember playing the living shit outta this song & have looked for it for yeeeeeears. I believe my ex was sent a promo copy for Rolling Stones -or,whatever fanzine- music review purposes via Willie's record co.
A wise man...

I remember seeing Willie Dixon on IRS' The Cutting Edge in 1984 when he reciting the lyrics to this song. Simple yet powerful stuff.

You have made great planes to span the skies
You gave sight to the blind with other men's eyes
You even made submarines stay submerged for weeks
But it don't make sense you can't make peace

War is what suits the evil masters. Peace is for the folks, that love. Willy, you the man.

I've checked extensively & Mr. Dixon has never recorded this song...more's the pity as now he is gone and we still haven't made peace.
