I was angered by this.....but above all else I was even more angered by the lack of reporting by the news agencies. But as usual & unsurprisingly, they didnt see it as a serious issue....wankers! I guess reporting continually on that slag jordan lifting her flaps every 2 mins is deemed more important as breaking news. This was an international issue as there were big angry demonstrations/riots in india, canada & oz etc. If this happened to a church they'd be uproar.

RE: Community Attack - Serious Action Required

I am writing to you in concern with Sikh Gurdwara that was set alight and burnt to the ground on 16th March 2009 in Bow, East London. This attack has left the Sikh community across the country in deep shock and I want the authorities to carry out a thorough investigation to catch the culprits.

Ultimately we all believe in one god and who ever has done this will face their crime in the court of the almighty and it is there justice will be served but for now we are sikhs babji teaches us peace and we should pray for our enemies because surely his judgement is the worst fate any of these people face!

This is my gurdwara and although im shocked and angry at whats happened, im more surprised by the lack of media coverage - if there was no racial motive involved, then this would have been in the main papers and in the London news, which it wasnt. Think there are fears that if they make it public, and it does turn out to be suleh, then BIG problems will occur, hence why its being kept low key.

Whoever done this tho - God is watching, no matter what religion they belong to

Everyone panicked. The women tried to put out the fire, but it was too fierce," Gurpal, an IT worker from Chingford, was quoted as saying by the British paper.

A criminal investigation has been launched and police and fire investigators are treating the blaze as suspicious. The building, which dates back to 1854 was formerly a synagogue and before that a chapel. The London Fire Brigade confirmed that 75 per cent of the building and the roof had been damaged by the fire.

"Police are treating this incident as suspicious," a Metropolitan police spokesman was quoted as saying by the British daily.

actually a total of 15 Guru Granth Sahibs were in there, 1 was saved, 14 were all gone there were remains left of 5 Guru Granth Sahib ji's there Sanskar was done today 17/03/09.
