you can still visit the real silent hill, "Centrailia", i mean people still live there ant stuff, but because of the fumes emenating from the ground produced by a large fire buring since the sixties, the residents have gone.... rather loopy...

Is this the tunnel where the girl who used to live in a house on a hill? I think it went that her house caught on fire and when she tried escaping out, her night gown caught fire, she when she ran down the hill she got burned alive, and once she reached the tunnel she died. And the rumor to the story was if anyone lit a match in the tunnel they would hear her dying wail as a gust of wind put out the flame.

I live in Pennsylvania maybe about an hour or so away from Centralia. I think thats what the Silent Hill American movie was based off of, not particularly the games. Centralia is a weird place tho lol, they have alot of sideroads that lead back to the underground fires and I think theres also some abandoned towns back there as well but I havent seen any. You are right about your statement, but it applies to the movie and not the game series :)

that is where the game is based off. its abondoned because a fire happened in a mine, and it still burns to this day. and the "silent hill" siren does exist, right there! its a stl-10. there not common, but my town has 2 of them, and their sister siren, sth-10. thats where the game is based off.
