  • "The thought plickens!"

  • @liffy1969

I suppose I should have clarified. I understand she died I meant seeing a online video clip of her doing this rather than just a still image.

  • I don't suppose anyone knows where you can actually see her doing this

  • @ekenig

Unfortunately Anna Russell died a few years ago. However, there is a wonderful actor called Denise Oucharek who has a one-woman show based on Anna Russell's life and her material, called Toad. I know there will be a couple of performances in Eastern Ontario in May...

  • I consider myself infinitely fortunate to have had this album in the family stack when I first learned to use the record player, along with Beethovan's 7th symphony and a few more utterly glorious works, and no money to waste on waste music.

  • Great, But where is Mordin? (If you didn't get that I will be ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL OF YOU COMPUTER)

  • @Computator1 for real were is mordin.

  • @Computator1 OH FUCK EDI WILL SAVE ME

  • Thanks for posting. She is a genius.

  • Uh, "Oh Is There Not One Maiden Breast" sung by Frederick in Pirates of Penzance and "A Maiden Fair To See" sung by Ralph Rackstraw in Pinafore are in 3/4 time.

  • @mjsax2390 well, "Take a pair of sparkling eyes" in Gondoleirs and the tenors song in Trial By Jury (the name of which escapes me) are both in 6/8.

  • As with all of Anna Russell - simply lovely and oh so true!

  • Wow. It's so funny.....and so true.....

  • HILARIOUS!! LOVE HER!!

  • lovely! this is the only place i could find the rich tycoon song! is there anywhere to get lyrics for it?

  • Maybe on the Gilbert and Sullivan Archive website somewhere? They tend to have parody lyrics in addition to those for the Savoy Operas.

  • Wow! I always wanted to listen to this ever since I heard a couple of lines from some of my G&S buddies. :D

  • Thanks so much for posting this. I grew up listening to this and loving it. It brought back so many great memories for me!
